Short motivational video/monologue by Donald Burns arguing that failure to grow equals stagnation and eventual decline, with a specific call-out to the restaurant industry where guest expectations and daily challenges require continuous evolution. The speaker warns businesses and individuals that not evolving will lead to being left behind.
So here's the real cost of staying the same. If you're not growing, you're dying. If you're not constantly pushing yourself to evolve, you're going to stagnate. And once you start stagnating, it's only a matter of time before you start falling behind. The restaurant industry is evolving. Guest expectations are changing, and new challenges are emerging every single day. If you're not evolving, if you're not constantly pushing yourself to grow, you're going to get left behind.
If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
