A short YouTube motivational clip by Donald Burns arguing that failing to grow is equivalent to decline. He warns restaurant operators that guest expectations and industry challenges are changing, and urges continual evolution to avoid stagnation and being left behind.
So here's the real cost of staying the same. If you're not growing, you're dying. If you're not constantly pushing yourself to evolve, you're going to stagnate. And once you start stagnating, it's only a matter of time before you start falling behind. The restaurant industry is evolving. Guest expectations are changing, and new challenges are emerging every single day. If you're not evolving, if you're not constantly pushing yourself to grow, you're going to get left behind.
If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
