Short excerpt from a YouTube video by Donald Burns ("Protect Your Energy First"), consisting of a conversational exchange between two speakers. They advise keeping a very small inner circle, guarding it closely, and protecting one’s energy from "energy vampires"; one speaker identifies as an "outlier" who no longer worries about fitting in.
That's one of the things I've learned this last year too is like keep your inner circle really, really small.
Super small. Because the other.
Thing about it, guard it with everything you have.
Absolutely. And that comes also for like, protecting your energy. Right? Because as you, like, succeed in life, you recognize not everyone is happy for you. And then you have a bunch of energy vampires in your life that you're like, okay, I don't want them in my life. And you're like, you just. You get wise, you get calmer, you understand yourself in a different way. And I've always been an outlier. Like, I'm not your traditional female. And so I used to be uncomfortable with not fitting in, but now I recognize I'm an outlier and not a lot of people can keep up with me.
That's why it's catch me if you can. Right?
That's why it's catch me if youf Can.
If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
