Donald Burns delivers a short YouTube monologue identifying the top "red flag" in a coach: a coach who does not have their own coach. He argues that a coach without a coach is stagnant, not investing in their own growth, and therefore likely to hold clients back; he labels such a coach a "fraud" and warns listeners to avoid them.
If someone offers to coach you and they don't have a coach themselves, and you need to run fast. Why? Because it means that they're not growing. It means that they're stagnant. And if they're stagnant, guess what? You're going to be stuck right there with them. A coach who doesn't have a coach is a fraud. And if they're not investing in their own growth, what are you going to do to help and how they're going to help you grow?
If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
