Want to double your profits? Hang on, because I'm about to share five tools that will allow you to double your profits in 90 days. Hey, TRC Nation. Donald Burns, a restaurant coach and author of the Amazon best selling book, your restaurant sucks. Let's face it, running a restaurant is not easy. The pressure to keep up with rising food costs, the need to stay on top of social media, the pressure from guests to keep coming up with new, innovative things, it's. It can wear down the best of us. For the past 14 years, I've worked with thousands of restaurants to help them overcome challenges and reach their goals. And to be honest with you, some reach those goals and some don't. The difference between those that reach their goals and those who don't is a little simple. Those that reach your goals have a plan, while those that don't just have a dream. The dream is the easy part. The plan is the hard part. The plan requires commitment, focus, and drive. If you truly want to double your profits in the next three months, you need to commit to these five following things. Number one, join a mastermind group. I must say, right now, this is not optional. You must align yourself with a group of people who share your vision for your restaurant. The power of a mastermind group is that it helps you stay focused on your goals. Most restaurant owners have goals. The problem is that most restaurant owners don't write down their goals. Hopefully you've written down your goals, because if you don't write down your goals, you're not really going to be committed to them. And I hate to tell you this, but if you're not committed to your goals, you're not going to create a plan to reach them. And if you don't have a plan and if you think you can just make it up as you go, you are just fooling yourself. A mastermind group is going to also keep you accountable because what you're going to do is you're going to make commitments to the group and to your coach. And here's what they're going to do. They're going to keep you invested and keep you accountable and making sure that you're following through. Number two, you need what's known as a system of habits. Now you might be thinking, hey, coach, I have a system. Well, how many times a day do you follow your system if it's not something that you do on a regular basis? Hate to tell you this, it's not a system. A system of habits is something that's ingrained in your DNA. It's not Something that you really have to think about. Remember back when you learned how to drive a car? At first it took, like, all your focus and concentration. And then after a while, driving a car became second nature. You didn't have to think about it, you just did it. A system of habits is one that you need to manage your time and your tasks. Because if you don't have a system in place to help you manage your time, you're just going to be wasting it. We all have 24 hours in a day. How you use those hours is your choice. And if you're not happy with the results you're getting in your restaurant, it's time that you start understanding that you're probably using your time very poorly. Number three, you need a better training program. The number one thing that separates those who make more money and those who don't is educating their team. The biggest problem many restaurant owners have is they think they know it all, and they don't. I'm telling you, no one knows it all. You need to keep training. Training is a skill, and like all skills, it must be practiced to be mastered. If you're not training your team, you're going to be left behind by those who are. Look at the top brands in your market. They all have one thing in common. They are constantly investing in training and educating their team. You need to get a training program in place. Now, if you don't have one, that could be finding a coach or mentor to help you get a training program into operation and into use in your restaurant. Whatever you do, make sure you're training something consistently every single day. Number four, you need accountability. If you're not using a mastermind group or a coach to hold you accountable, you're missing out on a major opportunity to grow and improve your restaurant. Let's be honest, restaurants are often a playground for the dark side of human nature. Now, people are motivated by different things. Some people motivated by money. Some people are motivated by recognition. Some are motivated by their ego. You need to know what motivates you. And also you need to know what motivates your team. If you don't know, you're just guessing. And if you're guessing, you're shooting in the dark. And sadly, if you're shooting in the dark, you might get hit by a stray bullet. So it's really important you know your team. You need to know yourself. You need to know your goals. You need to know what's holding you back from achieving your goals in getting the restaurant. You know it can be deep down now, once you know all those things, you need to hold yourself accountable. That's where having a mastermind group and having a coach come back into play. They're going to ask you the hard questions and they're going to keep you focused on the goals that you set. Finally, number five, you need to invest in self education. You're going to need to get comfortable with the fact that you're going to need to learn new things every day. And honestly, that's a good thing. Remember that you're going to need to stay ahead of the competition if you want to stay in business. Being the best in your market is great. Waiting five years to be the best in your market is not so great. You need to commit to daily learning now. You don't need to go back to school. You can learn from books, podcasts, videos, audiobooks. The Internet is full of educational stuff. You could be taking a class online. You could subscribe to a podcast like mine, the Restaurant Coach podcast. But you need to read a minimum of 20 minutes a day. Honestly, that's only about two pages. And you can do that. You also need to listen to audiobooks. If you don't like to read, I would suggest listen to audiobooks. Beautiful thing about audiobooks, you listen to them while you're driving, while you're cooking, while you're cleaning, even working out. If you need ideas for audiobooks, remember I have five books on audibles and itunes. And you also need to watch videos. You can do this by subscribing to my YouTube channel. Just hit that like and subscribe button right now. The bottom line is you need to be hungry to learn. Learning is a mindset. You need to be committed to learning and growing. If you're not, then you're going to be stuck where you are today. I have restaurants that double their profits in 90 days by just having some accountability in the mastermind group. And if you're not happy with the results you're getting, then take action. Write down your goals and share them with your mastermind group. Get a system to manage your time and also your task. I recommend using your calendar or maybe a task management system like Basecamp Monday or even Trello. But also, I highly recommend you get into a mastermind group. You can sign up for my mastermind group called Restaurant Masterminds by heading over to RestaurantMasterMinds.com because you need accountability. Seriously, if you could do it on your own, you would have by now. If you're willing to learn, grow, and be accountable, that's the first step to doubling your profits in the next 90 days. Now, in my next video, I'm going to outline an easy way for you to win the restaurant game once and for all.
