A short conversational transcript from a YouTube video where the speaker (Donald Burns) reflects that the best meals are defined more by company than by food. The speaker recounts recent dining in Cartagena with his son Alex at a restaurant recently named among the world’s top 50, mentions enjoying simple family meals (e.g., chicken and rice, Armenian food) with parents, and praises elevated Mexican cuisine in Chicago by Chef Carlos Gallatin (Zuko), noting the chef frequently changes the menu and elevates dishes.

You travel a lot. What's the best meal you've ever had? Oh, gosh. I'm gonna really test you here, because you had a lot of great experiences. Wait, you know what, Donald? I think that when I think about the best meal I've ever had, it's really about, like, the company that you're sitting with, right? And I'm a huge foodie, and some of my best memories are with, like, my favorite people sitting around me, right? While enjoying, like, the best meal. Most recently, I went to sale in Cartagena with my son Alex, and just a few days ago, it was named in the top 50 restaurants in the world. And I, like, sent it to Alex immediately. I'm like, oh, my gosh, we just went to one of the top 50 restaurants in the world. And he's like, of course. That's where you made us a reservation. But the joy of being a foodie again is to enjoy the experience with the people that you love sitting at the table and having that together. Those are all my favorite meals. Whether that means, you know, it's my parents, the few times I get to see them a year, and we're just eating, like, chicken and rice or Armenian food. I mean. But my favorite meals, I would say, in general, are takes on elevations of food. Like, for example, Chef Carlos does Zuko in Chicago, which is, like, elevated Mexican food. Oh, no, it's. Yeah. Carlos Gallatin. It's one of my most favorite restaurants in Chicago because I love Mexican. But he elevates it to another level. And so it's just every time he changes the menu, everything is exceptional, you know?
