This is a YouTube video titled "This Boring Habit Is the Real Profit Secret #ManagerLogs #RestaurantSuccess #OpsMastery" created in August 2025. The content features a discussion between two speakers about the importance of daily manager logs in restaurant operations, highlighting how these logs serve as a critical system for tracking issues, patterns, and improving management oversight to drive restaurant success.
What do you think is like, one really unsexy system that restaurant owners avoid? But you've seen them create massive leverage once they commit to using it.
Daily manager logs. That's the unsexy.
Yeah, those are totally unsexy.
I have a client that we worked on this last week, so he was like, this is like the central nervous system of my restaurant. That's what he called it. And I'm like, yes. When it's done right, it's literally the central nervous system of your restaurant. All the managers and the leaders. It's almost like they can. They have a pulse of the restaurant. They can see what happened on the previous shift or the. Or the day before or the week before. Yeah. Like, if a pilot light is not turning on or something, they can put in the log, and then they can see, oh, the pilot light hasn't turned on the last, whatever, three shifts. So they know there's something going on. Just anything. It just exposes patterns in the restaurant. Good patterns and, you know, obviously bad patterns. If, like, a team member is, like, acting up or something, it's in the log. So they'll be like, oh, I'm gonna be watching this team member on this shift, because we had a problem with them on the last shift. But manager logs is, like, super simple thing. And there's a really simple template. It's just like sales, sales data, labor, percent, just anything with inventory, check, average. This is just a tool for getting leaders and managers to think like owners as well, because join a team to think like an owner.
