Hey, Donald Burgs with a restaurant coach minute. I'm going to give you some advice that on the surface will sound like the simplest thing ever. It will also be the most difficult thing you will do. And most can't do it for very long. If you want to improve your restaurant immediately, I mean like right now, you can do that and it won't cost you anything either. If you want a better restaurant, it starts with a decision to raise your standards. I know, simple, right? Not so fast. Like I said, very easy to say, hard to execute. And let me give you the reasons why. Raising your standards starts a chain of events into motion that you will need to not only be aware of, you'll need to conquer them too. There are three reasons why you're going to have a hard time raising your standards and also keeping them there. Raising them is the easy part. Keeping them up there is the battle you're headed for. One reason is knowing that change doesn't like to change. Most people on your team like change when it happens to someone else. When it comes for them, that's when you're going to meet resistance. See, their comfort zone is going to come calling and beg them to come back. Nothing great ever happened from staying in your comfort zone. Number two is not believing in yourself. You got to be aware of the voices in your head and the things that they say. Now we all talk to ourselves and I'm going to tell you to have a little bit more self compassion. Be kind to yourself, but don't be a wimp either. If you know what you want, then you have to have the courage to go after it. You're not crazy if you talk to yourself. You're crazy if you allow the voices of self doubt to stop you and keep you stuck where you are in the land of mediocrity now. Number three is you're not going to take enough action to break through to the other side. It's time tough to raise your standards. I get that talk is truly cheap. When people talk about what they want and then they have no follow through to get it. Words without action are actually useless. The real issue is that you're going to need to take more action than you think. Here's what's going to happen. You're going to want to raise your standards. You're going to try a few new things out. You won't get the results you want as fast as you want. And then your comfort zone will come calling and asking you to come back. This is right there, that's that tipping point you need to be aware of. And it's in that moment that greatness presents itself to you. Fall back into your comfort zone or push through with new action to forge your destiny. It's in that moment right there that will set you on a path that will change your life forever. Take the risk. Take the chance. Take action. If that action doesn't work, try something else. If that doesn't work, try something else. Most people give up way too easily when they are in uncharted waters. You gotta stay the course. It takes some time to get momentum going in a new direction. Keep taking massive action, and soon you're gonna start to see it move in the direction you want. And then the results will snowball. Remember, if it was easy, everyone would have the life and the restaurant that they desired.
