A short YouTube conversation between Donald Burns and another speaker about the unpredictability of life and taking leaps of faith. The speakers discuss how plans can be upended by opportunity (example: a second restaurant location) and reference a Voltaire quote about God as a comedian to underscore the theme.
I've learned if you make plans, if, like, you make plans, God laughs. So I think it's sometimes better. Just like with my second location, an opportunity knocked on my door. And, you know, sometimes you take that leap of faith because you have strong faith and you think that if it was meant to be, it will be.
It's funny. You said. You said, when you make plans, God laughs. There's actually a famous quote from Voltaire that says, God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh.
Yeah, I completely agree.
Yeah.

If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
