This is a YouTube video titled "Your ego is draining your restaurant. #restaurantfailure #restaurantsuccess #restaurantgrowth" featuring Donald Burns speaking about how pride and denial negatively impact restaurant success, emphasizing the importance of honesty and coaching for improvement. The content is motivational and advisory in nature, created in July 2025.
You talk about it so many times, I'm like, oh, man, it's so true. Pride and denial kills more restaurants than anything in the world. And we're talking about ego. Ah, you know, I don't need any help, Pride. I don't want to ask. You know, I'm just too proud to ask for help. And then denial. It's not that bad. If your restaurant sucks, it sucks. Just be honest about it. Yeah. And a lot of times, not their fault. They didn't have a coach. They have a coach. Yeah. You can't do better if you don't know better.
If your restaurant only works because you work 80 hours a week, it doesn't work.
