Welcome to Dr. Tague's center for Nutrition and Preventive Medicine. You're probably watching this because you're not satisfied with your weight, your sense of well being and your overall health. We're glad you made the choice to start the process that will put you back in control of your weight and metabolic health. We have helped thousands of people lose well over £100,000 over the years and today you'll see why our weight loss program so effective. Dr. Tagg and our team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, nutritionists and other professional staff are uniquely qualified to help you achieve your optimal weight and health.
Unfortunately, being overweight has an impact on many different areas of people's health. It starts raising the blood pressure and that can lead to atherosclerosis, increasing risk of heart attack and stroke. People that are overweight have more asthma and oftentimes they snore. So it affects the lung system, the pulmonary system, it affects the joints. People that are overweight oftentimes have back pain, knee pain, muscular aches, for example. Being overweight also has a significant impact on people's psychological health. There's oftentimes stresses in personal relationships, be it with marriage or dating relationships. Going to social events can make people feel uncomfortable and feel stressed. And that's another area where we like to work with patients and help them to feel healthy psychologically and mentally and that will facilitate them being successful with their weight loss and then having a long term optimal outcome. The main things that make our program effective are our ability to evaluate patients very thoroughly and looking at why they've become overweight and what are the factors that influence their weight. We can then decide how do we apply the research information that's out there to this individual patient? And that's one of our strengths, is applying that research. One of the other strengths of our program has to do with the adaptability of our program over time, depending on what the patient's needs are. So we want to be in it with the patient for their long term success.
You already know that losing weight and keeping it off is a tough challenge. One of the hardest things that someone could be asked to do. What you may not know is that there are actually many medical reasons for being overweight. Your body is a complex system which is affected by many variables, including biochemical and metabolic factors, and your body is unique to you. We need to learn more about you before we can help you solve the problem. Obviously the types of food you're eating can influence your weight, but likely there are also hormonal or Genetic factors. Perhaps you have a food craving disorder. Maybe you're eating too much due to excessive hunger, or maybe your previous diets have actually slowed your metabolism. Many of our overweight patients are even found to be malnourished. When starting our program to figure all this out, we need to do an evaluation. So that's exactly what we're going to do. We will take a complete medical and family history as well as determine your nutrition and health profile. We'll also take into account your mental and social stresses that may be affecting your metabolism and appetite. We will also do an in depth study on your body composition. Using the latest muscle mass and body fat analysis technology called segmental bioelectrical impedance. We'll be able to pinpoint exactly how much body fat you have and how you're carrying it. That's what happens on your first visit with us. If you're watching this in our office, that visit is today.
When I met with Dr. Teg, he assured me that if I would stick to the program, I would lose it and go all the way. And it happened eight months.
I tried everything before, but I really felt from the very beginning that this was going to be a very personalized plan for me. And that immediately put me at ease and got me very excited about getting started.
Little by little, I gained some weight, but I found I was not sleeping, sleeping well at night. My arthritis was out of control and it was like, I have got to get control. I have got to do something. I was tired of being overweight and a lot of people were commenting about it. I just wanted to feel comfortable in my clothes.
And I knew that Dr. Tegg would be watching out for my health as well as my weight loss.
Dr. Tegg's plan that emphasized weight loss and a continuing goal of keeping the weight off.
So. So I had a lot of things other than just wearing a smaller size at this point in my life. So it was time.
Once I got into it and I started seeing results really soon, that helped me and it kept me going.
The program was easy. I was in total control.
It was easy eating every two or three hours. I was not hungry, but it was actually very easy.
The food tasted good, very simple to.
Follow, and you get into a routine and you develop a habit and it's very easy to stay with. I saw progress. The first week. I lost £11.
My first week, the results were incredibly fast. Within the first week, I had already lost, I believe, ten pounds. And after that it was five pounds a week.
I struggled to lose a quarter of a pound before. So it was really gratifying. I never hit a plateau and so it was easy to stay on the plan. People ask me how do you do that? How do you never cheat? And I didn't. And, and there's no reason to cheat when it works because you just keep going and you're excited about it.
Now when you come back for a second visit, we'll continue your health journey. This time we're going to look closely at your metabolism from a medical point of view. Your metabolism is how your body takes in, uses and stores energy and wow, is it complex. So we don't leave this up to guesswork. We'll draw some blood and do lab testing to look at a whole series of medical and metabolic factors. We'll take a look at blood sugar, liver function, cholesterol and lipids, nutrients and hormones and we'll do an electrocardiogram to check out your heart. During this visit you'll also get your baseline measurements and photos taken, your before shots, we'll need those later so you can see just how much progress you've made. And you'll get a personal health notebook to start keeping track of your progress and and all the educational materials that you'll receive. Then we'll send all these samples out to the lab for analysis prior to the next visit. On your third trip in, it's time to finish up the evaluation and get you started. We're going to do a problem oriented medical history as well as a brief physical with the doctor. You'll get a chance to sit and talk with Dr. Tagg or one of his trained medical associates if you choose, and together you'll go over your history, concerns, problems, medications and health goals. Then, based on all the testing, history and examination, it's time to put together a set of recommendations which will your goals for weight, body fat and fitness nutrition plan for initial weight loss activity recommendations, nutritional supplements any recommended medications. Now it doesn't stop there. We need to make sure that the program is effective and working and make adjustments when necessary. Our guided caring approach is designed around you so we need to see you regularly. A typical program includes weekly visits with a dietitian or nutritionist, regular monthly medical visits with a nurse or the doctor to review medications, personal fitness and exercise evaluation in the fitness room, regular lab testing and evaluations to monitor your metabolic and chemistry profiles, and regular body composition analysis and measurements. You'll also get access to our high quality medically proven nutritional supplements and meal replacements which will ensure that your weight loss efforts bring about real and predictable results. All of this in an encouraging, comfortable, private and supportive atmosphere. At the end of your initial visit to our office, we'll give you a full breakdown of the commitment required to participate in the program. There are no hidden fees, but we do ask that once we invest our time in designing your straightforward program that you give your best effort in following our recommendations. We'll also offer you substantial discounts and free items for getting started on your program immediately. Time and again, patients have regretted delays and reported, if I had only done this earlier.
Oftentimes, patients will come back and report that their marriage has been transformed, that their husband is just overwhelmed with the changes that he's seen, wanting to be active and be more involved socially and being involved in activities again, having patients report that they're more successful in the workplace and getting promotions. For our single patients, seeing their social lives blossom and that now they have the self confidence they need to maybe start dating again and go out and be involved with people, seeing those sorts of life changes has just been so rewarding and so joyful for not only me, but for all of my staff. To see patients when they first come in have this area of the life that really has held them back and now to see them set free and experiencing the fulfillment and joys of life that they should be experiencing has been just, just the most rewarding part of my career and endeavors and really has made the work of putting this program together just so worth it all.
