Google is quietly embedding AI into search, and users are adapting without realizing it. People now spend 50-60% of their search time in conversational AI before switching to regular results and websites. The shift feels gradual, but search habits are fundamentally changing.
Chapters
it's disruptive and all of the major players are in it and they're all indicating that they see this as some component of the future by way of people search, interact, and do things. And I think that with Google, the way I look at them is it's like we're all kind of like frogs on a slow boil. So they realize that people move slowly. So over the last number of years, if you look in probably in the last 2 years, especially how much the result page has evolved from what it used to look like. The result page has got much more dynamic. There's so many more features. Obviously they've brought the AI overview into there, so they realize that people aren't necessarily going to make this mass shift from something that they formed a habit in. So they're slowly bringing that habit into how you do things. And it may not be the people move, but over the space of a few years, they formed this new habit of how they search, which is shifting from that question-answer type format that we've all been used to for so long to more of a conversational format to where you take a conversation for 50, 60, 60% of your journey, and then you jump into traditional type search and go to a website afterwards. But you've maybe interacted with AI or some other feature or some other thing to get you along the way.
