In this YouTube monologue, Eric Deeran addresses video and creative agency owners, outlining seven operational bottlenecks that prevent them from taking a two‑week vacation. He explains that the owner is the sole sales closer, the final approver for fulfillment, the primary client liaison, the decision‑maker for hiring, the keeper of undocumented processes, the only source of revenue, and the driver of business growth. Because all critical functions depend on the owner’s direct involvement, the business stalls whenever the owner steps away. Deeran ends with a call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to watch a follow‑up video that details how to resolve these issues.

These are 7 reasons why you can't take 2 weeks off as a video or creative agency owner. Number 1, your sales pipeline depends on you being on the call, meaning you don't have a closer or any salesperson who can take the calls for you. You are reliant on yourself to generate the revenue. Number 2, fulfillment waits for your final approval, meaning that you are the bottleneck. Nothing can get done without your approval, meaning that you always have to be involved. Clients Slack you, not your team. Instead of making a group Slack channel for your team to respond to clients, they go through you, meaning again, you are the bottleneck and you are the person they have to communicate with. Number 4, hiring decisions stall without your sign-off, meaning that no one can hire or train or bring anybody else on without your direct approval. Number 5, there's no SOP documents on how to do anything in your company. Everything's in your head, meaning that everyone has to ask you how to do something when they don't know. Number 6, money only comes in when you're working. Nobody else does anything without you directly working with them, and so you become the bottleneck yet again. Number 7, the whole thing stops thinking when you do, meaning if you're not actively growing the business, no one else is, and the business just stops. If you want to learn how we can help you fix these things, I put together a short video on the next page breaking it down. Click link below, check it out. We'll see there.
