A short YouTube advice clip for video-business owners arguing they must "work on" their business (marketing, sales, lead generation, client fulfillment processes) rather than only "work in" it (doing client work). The speaker warns that being busy without year-over-year growth means you focused on tasks that keep you occupied rather than on activities that move the business forward.

Something you should look at as a video business owner is, are you working in your business versus on your business? And what a lot of people do is they get really, really busy working in their business and then they think, oh, I think my business is going to grow because I'm working in my business. But that's not the case. You have to be working on your business. And what that means is working on the marketing, the sales, the lead generation, the client fulfillment processes, and not being so bogged down with actually doing the work for the clients, having a second to step out of that, to work on actually growing your business. Because if you look back on the last year and you were busy that entire year, but your business hasn't grown since last year, then fundamentally you're not working on the right things. So you just spent an entire year running in place. And so you want to focus on how can I focus on the things that are actually going to move the business forward instead of just focusing on things that keep me busy, busy.
