How Sarah Closed $70K In Retainers - Master Filmmaker Case Study

In this interview, host Eric Deeran talks with Sarah, a client of the Master Filmmaker program and founder of Peacock Media. Sarah shares that after joining the program she has closed about $70,000 in retainers within two months, all generated through paid ads. She explains her background as a touring singer‑songwriter who originally served musicians, but pivoted to serving medical doctors and clinics because the medical niche offers higher budgets and more scalable, predictable work. She describes two avatars: (1) physicians building personal brands and (2) medical clinics needing authority‑building content and lead‑generation systems. Using roughly $1,800 in Meta ad spend, she now runs simple static‑image ads created in Canva/Photoshop, and outsources technical tasks (e.g., GoHighLevel setup, website fixes) so she can focus on messaging and video production. Sarah emphasizes how the program gave her a repeatable system that fits her life as a mother of two, allowing her to work efficiently, plan for long‑term scalability, and aim for a $500K revenue target by year‑end. She advises prospects to “just do it,” invest in themselves, and be prepared to put in the work, noting that the Master Filmmaker system removes the need to master every tool individually. The interview ends with a plug for her website peacockmediaofficial.com and a teaser about future milestones.

What's going on, guys? I'm here with one of my clients, Sarah, from Peacock Media.
Sarah, how are you? Hey, good. How are you? Thanks for having me.
I'm good. Absolutely. Do you mind maybe sharing a little bit about how much you've closed since working with us and kind of that experience and what that's looked like so far?
Yeah. So, so far I've been with you guys, started last year in September, obviously, like sometime earlier in the summer, maybe got everything set up, started rolling things out, but had to take a break and I started back just, just 2 months ago now and I've closed $70K since going full on with you guys these last couple of months.
Let's go. I love it. And is that all from ads or how did you end up getting those leads and those clients?
Yep. All through ads.
Very nice. I love it. I guess for anybody who maybe doesn't know you, do you mind giving us a little bit of background on kind of you, how you got into this? Just a bit about your story just for anybody who doesn't know you.
Yeah, sure. So I started in the music business as a singer-songwriter, full-time middle-class working touring singer-songwriter for 20+ years. Always had an interest in filmmaking, photography, and always kind of dabbled with it on the side. About 7 years ago, I actually decided to sort of take the next step into my filmmaking and start a company. But like a lot of other creatives, sort of that feast or famine model was kind of how things went for, I mean, you know, those first couple of years. And You know, I really just kind of saw your ads on Facebook and Instagram and—
My face just annoying you on all the feeds.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Your sketch ads, your talking head videos, all the things, your diversified matrix of ad content, creative. Anyway, yeah, I saw your ads and it took me a little while to, you know, release the skeptic in me, but I am super glad that I found you and signed up for the program. And so yeah, here we are, it's a year, almost a year later, and I feel I feel like I've really gotten the hang of everything and I would definitely say that.
Yeah, because you've done $70K so far and then for anybody who doesn't know, you work specifically with medical clinics and doctors specifically, right? How would you define your avatar? Like who you specifically?
I have two different avatars. My first avatar is the doctors and physicians that are interested in working on their personal brand. A lot of my clients, they have either, maybe they're interested in launching a supplement line, maybe they want to open their own practice, maybe they have several ebooks out there. Or they're like, like trying to get more speaking engagements or just increase their authority positioning online. And so they need help developing their personal brand. They, they, they have somewhat of a start, but their, their ecosystem online and their infrastructure is fragmented. And so I come and help them with brand positioning, storytelling, film, obviously, and among a few other things that kind of sweeten the deal for them. And then I also have, um, my other avatar is medical clinics. So I come in and help the medical clinics with their online authority and trust-building content, their positioning in their, in their area, of course, and they're, and they're oftentimes in, in a specific pain point of not being able to capitalize on their current systems for lead generation. So I come in and kind of fix that problem for them. Um, and those are, those are things that I outsource as well. I have reliable outsourcing partners for things like GoHighLevel. Maybe fixing a website, things like that, which allows me to just focus on the messaging, the content creation, and the execution of that.
Very nice. And I guess what, 'cause you've never, did you ever have a niche before this program? Did you ever run ads before this program? Like what's that kind of felt like now that you kind of know who you're targeting, you know how to reach them, they're coming in fairly consistently from ads. Like how does that kind of feel, I guess, on your end?
Yeah, it's great. Honestly, my niche before and my avatar before I started this program was music. Industry, other fellow singer-songwriters. I started doing film and I started my company for my friends and to help other artists that I knew, you know, create high-end assets to up their positioning. So, but, you know, working with that avatar, as you know, the way we discuss it in this program is it's not really a niche that is really worth investing in. And so it's not, it's not really a predictable, scalable thing. Artists don't have budgets typically. Yeah. So I got out of that niche.
Same amount of work for them or a doctor and get paid 10 times more for the doctor than you could for the music, you know, music artist, which is kind of the name of the game, unfortunately. But it's like you might as well target an industry where you can make more money, have bigger impact, and then be able to get compensated for your work, you know?
So yeah, exactly.
And I guess like what, what's the experience been running ads? Because you have pretty consistent lead flow now. And how much have you spent in ads to make the $70K? Uh, cause it was $76K, but I think one of them didn't move forward, but now it's $70K, right? Yeah. So you have a couple in play as well right now.
And, and now my pipeline actually has a couple of more, uh, close calls potentially in the, in the pipeline too. So, you know, we could be doubling that $70K within the next 10 days.
That's awesome.
Uh, I think so far I'm up to about $1,800 in ads. That's great. Yeah. And the experience running ads, um, When I first started with this program, I kind of got up in my head about the ad creative and the running ads. And then I, when I took, I took a break, I took about 5 months off to kind of focus on moving and having a baby and doing some other things. Yeah, my second, my second kid. Yep. And so, but when I picked back up in April, the 1st of April, these just these last 2 months, well, first Meta changed everything, right? So we're kind of looking at, we're kind of looking at a different, a different system for ads altogether, which You know, when I finally, I think, got the hang of the ads and it sort of took the pressure off me a little bit 'cause I'm like, you know, I sort of see how it works now and I don't get up in my head as much. I'm just like, you know, I go to Canva or wherever I'm designing my ads, whether it's like Photoshop or, you know, something, and I'm like, oh, let me throw this like text static image ad together and like in 5 minutes I've got like an angle, you know, with ads and ready to go and loaded. So it's, it's not as, it's not as like daunting actually as it seems like right up, you know, at the beginning of the program where you just have a lot to learn and you're kind of overwhelmed in general with like, you know, the system and installing everything into your business. But like now I got the hang of it. It's just like, you know, easy to just kind of throw up a new ad. Yeah. You know, like, I don't overthink it.
I mean, being, being like a parent, I could tell you I'm a new parent this year. So it's like, it's, Being a grad too, I don't even understand. Like, you're killing it. Like, it's, I think it's a great testament of like, you can really get this done. Like, anybody can do this. And as long as you understand the system and how it works, it's like creating creative, having a system, having ads coming in, like having leads coming in consistently. I mean, like for me, I never had time to do cold outreach and that's why I prefer ads and that's why I teach you guys that. But it's like, it is nice to have that system, I think, where it's like, they're just, people are coming to you. You're having some conversations and then if it's a fit, then it's a fit. If it's not a fit, then it's not a fit, you know? Yeah. Which is huge.
I prefer the ads as well because the— yeah, I just don't—
I really don't have time, like, being a mom, to be cold DMing people who don't want to talk to me.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Yep. I prefer ads for sure.
Yeah, I love it. And I guess, like, where do you feel like you might have been now if you hadn't taken the leap and, like, kind of bet on yourself, invested in a program? Like, it's scary, obviously it's new. Like, where do you feel like you might have been if you hadn't done that?
Honestly, I'd probably be still chasing the, you know, the one-offs, the custom, you know, to every client's needs packages, you know, for musicians, artist friends, things like that. It's not sustainable. And I knew that when I got pregnant with my second daughter that I needed a life raft and I needed a way to— like, I'm looking 5 to 10 years down the road, right? I'm looking at how can I I know I've got to scale this somehow. And in 5 to 10 years, it would be really nice to sell this business and retire early. And my values are different now than they used to be. I want to be with my children. I want to be a present and available mother. Like, that is what I care about more than anything. And so I'm, I'm, my values are sustainability, efficiency, scalability, and money to provide for my family. And I think, you know, this program has been a life raft for me because I was reaching for something that could be predictable and scalable and a guaranteed path forward to reach those end goals that I have and solve those pain points for me. Because, you know, more, more money I make now, the more I can put away and the sooner I can, you know, exit the workforce and do things that I want to do. And like, by no means am I close to normal retirement age, but, you know, I, I, I'm thinking now—
underestimate how much you really need though to retire. And it's like, you're putting— you're working towards that right now, which is amazing, you know. Um, and I think you hit the nail on the head too. Like, once I had my kid too, it's like you just want to spend every waking moment with your children and like valuing the moments. And so then why would we focus on work that won't allow us to do that, you know? It's like we want to build a business that supports our lifestyle and what, what we want to do. And like you said, like this is a totally sellable business that anybody would be happy to buy. Once you have a good base of clientele, like 100%, it's 100% something you can exit and sell and make a decent amount of money from and then do whatever you want, which I think is huge. And yep, you know, it's like when I was younger, I was the freelance DP where I'm like, man, I just, I love doing work. I want to be on set all the time. But then like once you have a kid and family, you're like, I don't want to do that anymore. Like, I want to have a system that works for me. I want to be making money when I'm not actively putting time and effort in building a team. It's like it makes a huge difference for your lifestyle. And I think your priorities just change over time, which it sounds like yours have, which is great, you know, 100%. Yeah, I guess last question. If anyone is maybe on the fence about even just booking a call with us, seeing if it's for them, like what advice would you give them? Kind of knowing what you know now, being a mother of two, being busy, like, like what, what advice would you give them?
I would say do it. Don't hesitate, just do it. You know, you're worth the investment. You know, you got to invest in yourself if you're going to, if you're going to make it and if you want to succeed. You know, I think the biggest mistake a lot of small business owners make is thinking that they've got to do everything and that they've got to figure it all out themselves. You don't. This system is designed to, to help a small business or a one-person operation scale. And, and there's a lot of new, there's a lot of new tools out there that I think a lot of small business owners get overwhelmed that they've gotta learn and figure out how to do, you know, and Master Filmmaker kind of does that for, for you. Like, to be honest, like you gotta do some learning.
You put in the work.
You have to put in the work. Yeah.
You have to put in the work. Yes. And you did that and you crushed it. And yeah, it, it works if you, if you put in the work is what I always say. It's not a magic pill, it's not a magic key. Like you gotta put in the work. But I, I am so proud of how far you've come so far, Sarah, and I'm very excited to see where we continue to go this year. Where can people find you? Where's a good place for people to find you?
Yeah, my company website is peacockmediaofficial.com.
Awesome. Love it. Well, I'm excited to do another one of these when we're at multi-hundreds, hundreds of thousands of dollars in deals and we'll talk then.
Goal is $500K by the end of the year.
Let's go. I love it. Appreciate you, Sarah.
Yeah. Thanks, Eric.
