A short YouTube monologue (by Eric Deeran) reflecting on the personal sacrifices and sustained hard work required to grow a business quickly. The speaker contrasts the reality of building a business (long hours, repetitive daily routine, deliberate short-term sacrifice) with the popularized "laptop lifestyle" of online gurus, emphasizes focus on scaling and serving clients rather than a lifestyle business, and gives concrete daily-routine details (wake, coffee, office work, gym, back to office).

Something I don't think a lot of people know about growing a business quickly is that you have to sacrifice a lot of things. And it's not like this work, life, balance all the time. Like, you see all these gurus online who are like, you know, traveling the world or have laptop lifestyle, and they're going to different countries and they're doing all these crazy things and they're running this successful business. Like, I'll be real with you, the way I've built my business is not like that at all. Like, building a business requires a tremendous amount of sacrifice. It requires a lot of hard work, and it requires you to give up a lot of things that you maybe you don't want to give up. Like, as I'm building this company, my life is pretty boring. Like, I wake up, I get coffee, I come in my office here. I spend most of my day in my office. The one thing I do is I go out and go to the gym and then I come back and I'm right back in my office again working on the things that I know I need to work on to scale my business. So, like, can you run a business and travel the world? Sure. But I'm not trying to build a lifestyle business with this business. I'm trying to help as many clients as I possibly can. And the only way I do that is if I sacrifice the short term for myself to get the long term.
