A short YouTube coaching piece by Eric Deeran aimed at videographers and video business owners arguing that many are stuck working 40–80 hours because they focus on technical craft and non-revenue tasks (shooting, editing, client work) instead of revenue-generating activities. The speaker advises hiring for production and account tasks while the owner focuses on lead generation, booking sales calls, closing clients, and onboarding; ends with a CTA to comment 'workshop' for a free training.

If you're working 40 to 80 hours a week as a videographer or video business owner and your business is not growing and this means that you're not focusing on the right things within your business, you see a lot of videographers and filmmakers and video business owners. They're focusing on the quality of the work, the camera gear and how nice the piece of content looks instead of focusing on lead generation strategies, booking more sales calls and closing more clients. And the real reason they're typically bottlenecked here is because they're spending all of their time on non revenue generating activities. Meaning that it's not making the business any more money. Whereas you need to hire to do those non revenue generating activities like shooting, editing, account management, interfacing with clients. And you need to take all of your time and focus it on the sales, closing clients and onboarding clients. This way you can have enough money to hire more people to take care of your clients. And this is the major difference between a technician and a business owner. If you want to learn more about how to focus more on revenue generating activities and audit your time, comment the word workshop below and I'll send you a free training. Going over exactly how we're doing this.
