Eric Deeran argues that chasing money alone is an insufficient long-term goal. Once people reach their desired income, without a deeper purpose they can become complacent or depressed; Deeran urges resetting goals, seeking meaning (helping clients, believing in the work), and recognizing higher levels of scale in business.

Find a better. You have to find a bigger purpose a lot of times. And I think for a lot of people, they're chasing the money for so long that at a certain point, when you're like, you get it. And you don't have a. If you don't have a deeper why to why you're doing this, you're kind of like, oh, like, what do I. What do I do now? You know what I mean? It's just like this weird kind of, like, thing. So I think for a lot of people, it's like, when you're make. Once you make the level of income you want to make, you really have to make sure that you're still pushing yourself to, like, I'm doing this for more than just money. I'm doing this to help my clients. I'm doing this because I really believe in what it is that I'm doing. And that's what a lot of people talk about when they're like, you know, these people hit these big goals, and then they fall into, like, a depression because they thought it was the pursuit of the money the whole time. And then they get the money, and then they're like, what's next? So I don't know. Just some thoughts that have been going through us and just team and other clients and stuff, but that's a big one. Is just, like, really making sure that you're not falling complacent to where you want to be, because it's easy to get comfortable, and it's easy to just be like, hey, this is nice. It's hard to get out there and be like, hey, let me reset the bar back at zero again. Because there's people doing, you know, $10 million a month, $100 million a month. They're like, in the grand scheme of it, for most businesses, like, people who are doing $100 million a year is, like, a small business for most people. And I think, like, for a lot of people, they just don't realize there's levels to the game, you know, and that's what it really comes down to. So hopefully that was a good rant for you, AJ.
