Why Video Businesses Fail: Missing the 4 Key Pillars of Success

YouTube training by Eric Deeran explaining four pillars to scale a video business: (1) retainer-based offers to create sticky monthly recurring revenue (MRR) and smooth cash flow; (2) a consistent inbound lead system that generates intent-driven bookings (beyond referrals/cold outreach); (3) a scalable, repeatable, and teachable sales process (aiming for ~30% close rate) so others can sell for you; and (4) a team organization structure (sales, fulfillment, ops) to remove the founder from day-to-day work. Ends with a call-to-action to additional training and scheduling a demo.

All right, so in this video I want to kind of go over the four pillars of a successful video business and kind of walk you through what those pillars actually look like so you can understand exactly what you need to be doing to be able to get your video business to that next level. So the first thing that we want to be looking at is having a retainer based offer. So this helps us with mrr, which is monthly recurring revenue. And so what that does is that is sticky. Now sticky means that you're paying for it every single month. Kind of like Netflix or Google Drive. If you canceled that, then obviously you wouldn't get access to that anymore. So we want our clients to be able to pay us every single month. We want something that's gonna be sticky so they don't wanna stop paying us. And then what that does is it helps build recurring revenue. So reoccurring means that people are coming back to you month after month or coming back to you every once in a while. It's not consistent recurring. What that means is that basically means that they're paying you every month on a specific date. And what this helps you do is helps you scale without worrying about bills and overhead because you have that consistent revenue. Now right now you might be in this up and down, up and down, kind of like up and down, up and down right here where maybe some months you have 10k, some months you have 700 bucks, some months you do 20k, some months you do 200 bucks. And you have this up and down inconsistency within your business. Typically that's because you don't have a retainer based offer and you don't have these other things that I'm about to show you as well. And so what retainers do, where we gave you some example retainers in this mini course, what retainers do is it helps even out that flow. Right now, unfortunately, just retainers are not typically enough to get you to where you want to be because you need other, these three other pieces or pillars of the process to actually be successful here. Now, in addition to a retainer, you need a consistent inbound system. And basically what this is doing is helping you generate leads outside of referrals, cold calls, cold dming, and all these things that typically don't bring people in consistently. So what the consistent inbound system is going to do is it's going to help you generate leads where people are coming in, booking on your calendar and they're people who are reaching out to you. So that means that they're intent Based, which means they have an intent to talk to you, they have an intent to work with you. And what that's doing is helping you book clients on your calendar. And this combined with the retainer based offer is what's going to help you add that consistency to your business. Now you need more than just retainers, consistent inbound system, you need an actual scalable sales process. Because what's going to happen is you're going to close a couple of people on the retainer, right? And then you're going to have an inbound system, you're going to have some people coming into that interested in talking to you about the retainers. And then what's going to happen is you're going to need to get good at sales so you can actually close these people on this offer in a repeatable way. And then the second thing to that is you need a repeatable and teachable way because it's not enough to just make it repeatable. You need to have something that you can teach to other people. So then you can obviously hire a sales team, get yourself off the phones and off the zooms and the meetings and you can have somebody else close these deals for, for you where you don't have to actually do the work. And typically what we're looking for here is someone who's closing at 30% or more. So let's say you take 10 calls, you should be closing 30% of those calls. So three people on this retainer based offer and now you're going to want a custom retainer based offer. We gave you some good examples in this short mini course. Obviously I can't go into all of them in this specific mini course where we customize it with you, that's our full mastermind. But having a scalable sales process is going to help you close those people consistently. And the key thing here that I want to highlight is you want to make sure that the client feels empowered to make the decision and not forced. And so we build a sales process with you to help you make them feel like it's not a forced conversation. And then the fourth and final pillar is having a proper team organization structure. So this means you have a sales team, a fulfillment team and ops team. So you can start taking yourself out of these roles and you don't have to do all the work in your business yourself. So you can start taking yourself out of these roles and start building a team in place where you, you can start growing the business independent of your 24 hours every day. Now if you want to learn a little bit more about these. I have a additional training linked below where you can go check that out and then potentially schedule a demo with our team where we help you in our full mastermind, set up the consistent inbound system, set up the scalable sales process, set up the team organization structure. So I want to invite you to take a look below and schedule a demo with our team and see if we can actually help you get to whatever goals you want to get to within the business. So hopefully this was helpful and just let me know if you have any questions.
