Awakening Conference '25 | Day 1 | Apostle Femi Lazarus | Pastor Daniel Olawande | March 31, 2025

In the opening session of the Awakening Conference 2025, Apostle Femi Lazarus delivers a passionate sermon titled “God of Our Fathers.” He begins by honoring the host, Pastor Daniel Olawande, and sets the stage for a teaching that draws heavily on Genesis narratives (chapters 24 and 49) to illustrate how the patriarchs encountered a God who acted through angels, covenant prayers, and divine timing. Lazarus contrasts superficial knowledge of God with a deep, lived relationship, emphasizing humility, the need for genuine encounter, and the danger of relying on worldly wisdom or material success. He explains that angels precede believers, orchestrating kairos moments, and that waiting is a spiritual test that refines faith. Personal testimonies—ranging from an angelic vision during illness to stories of prayer marathons—are used to demonstrate how trials reveal true faith. He warns against equating wealth with divine favor, urging the congregation to seek the “weight” of God’s presence rather than material blessings. Throughout, he calls the audience to persistent, heartfelt prayer, communal worship, and readiness for future spiritual storms, concluding with an invitation for the congregation to lift their hands and seek the God their ancestors found.
Chapters
will have drained away. Is that okay? So let's be on our feet tonight. I don't want to waste any time. Holy Hill Church. Now, now, Apostle Femi Lazarus had been to this facility many times. I can't count how many times he has been here. Different people have had programs, he had come, but this is the first time We are having him in our church, and this is the first of many comings. You know, I have invited you for next year, so if they don't see you next year, you are the one that didn't come. Praise the name of the Lord. Holy Hill Church, let's receive for the first time here in Holy Hill Church a firebrand, a shining light, a voice of wisdom. Apostle Femi Lazarus.
Amen. All right, help me celebrate Pastor. Ah, instrumentalists, are you people going? I know you are not much of my friends in this season. Stay around, don't leave me. I love you. Amen. Thank you, Lord. Please help me celebrate Pastor and Mama again. I don't know if I've told him, I just like to sit down on his videos online. Just voice of wisdom, totally. There are people that speak and you are asking, did people say I'm wise again?
Me?
This is right. So I honor you, sir. I honor you, man. Thank you, thank you. And I want to celebrate, and I thank you, sir, that I'm coming first. You because, um, um, if Pidan had come first, let's just go. So, but now that I'm coming first, I'll pour the water, he will pour the fire. Every time we've had to minister together, that's the order, okay? So I'm just going to do a bit of teaching, then I'm very certain the fire will fall. Amen. Please help me honor Pidan. Help me honor him. Sometimes you just want to make adjustments, just look at him. That's it, is wisdom demonstrated. And please, my friend is here, Pastor Mavis Oji. Came all the way from Lagos, he doesn't go out, but thank God he's here. Amen. So I'm trying to take time because when you don't have plenty things to teach Amen. Let's give Jesus a big hand. Please, we may be seated. Thank you. Um, amen. Okay, thank you. When you have the privilege to open a meeting, it's a privilege never to take for granted. So I'm going to be teaching briefly on the subject titled God of Our Fathers. God of Our Fathers. Amazingly, that song has just been ringing in my spirit all day. Olorun babawa. Just been ringing in my spirit, you know. And I want us to please pay attention. Let's turn our Bibles quickly to the book of Genesis, chapter number 49. I will show us a few things. Genesis chapter number 49 from verse 1. And Jacob called all his sons and said, gather yourselves together that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Gather yourselves together and hear, ye sons of Jacob. And hearken to Israel your father. And then he began to speak. And if you— it will interest you to, um, look at that same Genesis 49 in other translations. Let's look at it in Message translation. It says, Jacob called his sons and said, 'Gather around. I want to tell you what you can expect in days to come.' He wasn't suggesting. It was not subject to what may or may not happen. He seemed to have a sense of understanding that what he was about to say will not fall to the ground. By what strength does a man speak to determine the future of another man? Without guessing, it must have been that the man has found something, something really profound. Sometimes what we call generational gap is wider than age. One time I had the privilege to sit with one of our fathers. And I said, sir, I'm worried. I said, the blood that saved you guys, is it that the blood was diluted before it got to my own generation, or is the same blood? Because it occurred to me that they seem to have a substance, something that we, we are fast losing. I watched with amazement during the PFN meeting when Daddy Joe was speaking and he said, "I know that many of you have new revs and have all those things," which is fantastic. He said, "But we found power in our own days. We found power." The Bible said it is they that do know their God that will be strong, and on the account of that knowledge, they will do exploit. Exploit is not a product of attempt, it's a product of the God that you have found. Exploit is not a product of wishful thinking. It is they that do know him that will do exploits. So the question is, who is this God? Where exactly? Because we're here because there's a longing in our souls, panting for him. So who exactly? Is this God? Because many people have laid claims to the fact that they have found him, but the result you see in their life— and when I mean result, I'm not talking about cars and I'm not talking about houses. There is something about finding God that humbles a man. Because the more you know him is the more you know you don't know him. The first thing that happens to a man when God reveals himself to the man is that the man is humbled. When Moses encountered him, he said, who do I tell the elders of Israel that sent me? He said, "Tell them I AM." Maybe that rings more bell in Yoruba, "E mini." You know, "I AM the One." He said, "I'm the Lord God of all flesh. Besides me there's none else." So where exactly is this God? What did Jacob find? By what strength was he telling—
I want—
what I want to tell you will determine your future. And when he called Reuben and said, Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the beginning of my strength, the excellence of dignity, he said, you won't excel. It remains so. Nobody, at least not until Moses came, Another man who found him could reverse it. And we're talking about a matter of over 500 years interval before there was a reversal. I want to show you something, and I need you to pay very, very keen attention. Look at this scenario, um, in the book of Genesis chapter number 24. Turn your Bibles there. Genesis chapter number 24. Something played out there. Now Abraham was getting old, so he told, um, should I use the word, his chief servant, he said, don't get a wife for my son among these people. Go to my own place. But pay attention to the statement, because listen, when you listen to people who have found God, you find secret. It's not empty words. Those words may not be deep. As a matter of fact, what they may hold there may be what you call basics, but the difference is that you know the basics, they do the basics. That's the difference. Sometimes people ask, what's the secret of consistent fire?
What's—
so you tell them, read your Bible every day, pray every day. Say, is that it? Say yes. Where did I— we were together that night at Eboma when some boys pounced on me. I thought I was going to be beaten. They said, tell us, tell us what's the secret. Will they fast? Will they pray? That character already shows that you don't know God, because when you find him, he, he breaks you. Listen, to know about God is different from knowing God. You can know about him, you can gather few things that are product of other people's encounter and say it, and your friends will say deep, but you don't have the depth. You can mindlessly lift statement people said, and because where it came from is deep, if you say it, it will look deep, until we look at the life of the one speaking and see that the distance is clear.
It's not about—
are you following what I'm saying here? It's not about sounding deep. We are going somewhere because the glory of God is going to hit this place. Now pay attention to what Abraham said. Genesis 24:26: And Abraham said unto him, Beware that thou bring not my son Tita again. The Lord God of heaven which took me from my father's house and from the land of my kindred, which spake unto me, and that— all right— which spake unto me, and that swear unto me, saying, unto thy seed will I give this land. He shall send his angel before you, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. And if the woman will not be willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this, my oath. Only bring not my son here again. Now look at the prayer that the servant prayed. You want to see the prayer? Genesis chapter number 24, verse 12. And he said, 'Oh Lord God of my master Abraham.' All right, that is, he acknowledged that there is a personal relationship between that God. You see, that you brag about God doesn't mean you know him. The guy has observed that there is— because we're going to look at his statement, because listen to what I'm saying though. Many of us don't know that what we call trouble is an avenue for you to manifest the knowledge of God on your inside. Listen to what he said.
He said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, all right, send me good speed this day and show kindness unto my master Abraham.
Behold, I stand here by the well of water. And the daughters of men of the city come to draw. Let it come to pass that the damsel to whom I shall say, let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink, and she shall say, drink, and I will give— all right, and I will what? Give thy camels drink also. The same shall be she that thou has appointed for thy servant Isaac. And thereby shall I know that thou hast shown kindness unto my master. You know, he kept referencing the covering. Look at verse 15. And it came to pass, before he had done speaking that, behold, Rebekah came out. So what happened there? Abraham said to him, let angels go ahead of you. That is, in Abraham's relationship with God, he had found—
listen to what I'm saying— it is what God reveals to you, that is for your children's children.
Abraham had found that there is a supernatural means to get results beyond effort. It is the ministry of angels.
So he said, let the angels go ahead of you.
Because in a way, to be politically correct, one of the things the fathers understood that we don't seem to understand again is the ministry of angels, that angels can go ahead of an entire nation and cause things to work differently. All right, look at an event happened in Acts of the Apostles chapter number 12. Herod took James and killed him. He didn't know what will happen. When he killed James, he saw that he pleased the Jews. He left, said, went for Peter. The Bible said when he took Peter, but the church prayed without ceasing. What did God do? He sent angel. The angel got to the prison where Peter has been chained, and the chains fell off, the prison doors open, struck Peter by the side. Woke him up, took him to the gate of the city. The gate of the city that requires soldiers to open opened by itself. The angel didn't go, stayed around. The following morning, because Herod will look for him, Herod was making the speech. They said, yeah, what you have said now, you sound like the gods. Say, you sound like God, and you took that glory. Touched his head, it decayed from head to toe. Ministry of Angels because the church prayed. Let me tell you something.
If God—
Bible says that God sends his angels to minister to heirs of salvation, and your life is not enjoying that fruit, it is either ignorance or pride.
That you can be searching with your wisdom that comes to nothing what angels can go ahead to find. Consciousness of how the supernatural work is one of the signs of encounters. That you—
listen, are you following what I'm saying there?
You have looked at life and it has occurred to you that I've seen that those who run by strength fails. I have seen that those—
because Abuja is a city of smart people—
those who believe that they are very smart, they are caught in their own craftiness. But it is there in the race of life, the battle is not to the swift, the food is not to the wise, it is time and chance.
What does that mean?
That as you align with God, he puts you in divine alignment with a divine timing by the ministry of angels. Many girls were in that city before the guy was done saying— meaning that while Abraham said, my angels will go ahead of you, something had triggered them to release Rebecca on time. There were many girls that could have been released that night.
Why Rebecca? Angels were working. Meaning that when we release this ministry of angels, it doesn't just work with the person, it can work even with those who should favor you. That somebody look at you and say, I don't like you, but you are the best for this. Angels at work. And if you look at the story of Rebecca deeply, all right, take your time, going to look at it. Genesis 22, when God told Abraham that your seed will possess the gate of the enemies, nobody was there.
When they were releasing covenant prayers on Rebecca It was the same covenant prayer that your seed will possess the gate of the earth. And now, why did the guy say let hospitality be the sign of the one you have chosen? Because we, we now think that encountering God is just about speech. He had observed something that is tied as a secret to the Abrahamic lineage.
How did Abraham get to where he was?
He was wealthy.
Stood outside his tent at the plain of Mamre. Then he saw some 3 men passing. They were not going to pass twice. They will not advertise themselves to him. They will not introduce themselves to him. It is left for his discernment. All he has been waiting for, for over 25 years, is now going to be left for him to discern who is passing. All right, because Good. Say, I'm satisfied, I have my money, who cares about you? Let me tell you something, you don't find people who know God who are not kind. Anywhere a man brags that he knows God and you go to the person, you can't see graciousness, he has not found God. People who have found God are benevolent people. You will see, you see. Listen, because the one who has not found God, any little thing he has, he knows he's going to finish. Resources have become his source.
But when you see the one who knows God, he knows that this is a resource and God is the source. So he saw— he's seen the pattern that in being hospitable, there is something that this hospitality is sustaining in this lineage. I've seen it. Let it be that the one who carries the same spirit The one who carries this same attitude, let it be that that is the one you have chosen for Isaac. And all right, because that day many girls could have been sent. Listen, who may also be able to do the same thing?
Are you—
I'm saying here, I'm not saying they are not also hospitable. They may be able to do the same thing. And that's why personal alignment matters. Let me explain what I mean. If I pick my phone now and I send a message to church WhatsApp page that the first person to climb the altar by 7:19 PM tonight will receive the gift of $5,000 US The only people who can respond to it are those who are online, not those who have phones. You can have a phone and not be online. Listen to what I'm saying. Sometimes what you are hearing, the time has passed. You are hearing now because this is when you are now tuned to the spirit. Away from self-consciousness. Are you following what I'm saying here?
Because God can release a memo, and those who are in the spirit, they pick their own memo. But the one who is walking in the flesh, he will hear it later, but the kairos moment is gone.
So it means that whatever was going on, this girl must have an idea of something about the God of Abraham. Because the timing— you see, talk about the issue of timing, it's not a joking matter. It's not, it's not scam. Why is it that the moment Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, the moment he finished, Esau came in? Why that time? Why the moment he finished? Why not before he released the blessing? Listen to what I'm saying. When you see the mark of missing time, don't joke with it. It's warfare.
Once you begin to see the pattern that anything you begin to miss, divine kairos, kairos, kairos.
You say, this one just finish, this one— what if I'm at a party and the meat always finish before my turn? I don't know.
Divine timing.
He said, God, look at the prayer. It is not me you are showing kindness to, it is my master Abraham. I understand that on the strength of what he has with you, you will not disappoint him. My question is, what have you found in God that your children can fall on? Someone went to eat somewhere. And they told him that in this restaurant you don't pay. Any food you eat, you don't pay. Your father's already paid, so eat as much as you like. So the fellow sat down and ate. Many of us, if they say that, eat, there's no— the CCTV camera will be off, so eat the way you like. So the guy ate, took extra, said, let me try this, let me try that. Um, can you add some calamari? Let me try that also. Yeah, all right. So when he was done, said, ah, thank you. He dusted himself and stood up to go, and they called him back. I say, sir, it appears that you are irresponsible. I said, why? Say, but you said not to pay. They said, you enjoyed what your fathers provided. When your children come, what would they eat? Every revelation you seem to have about God now, someone sought to pipe those things open. What will the next generation find on the account of your own seeking? Have you found something in God that can make you, as a father, say, my son, kneel down? There's something I found in God. It is not car keys. It is not in building, but if you find it, you will sustain you corn and wine. On the strength of what I found in God, I release this upon you. That's what Abraham did. He gave gifts to the sons of the concubines, and he gave all that he had to Isaac. That all is not money, is a spiritual substance that money can't buy. That all is not money. Daddy, a man can lay hands on you and say simple prayers. From today, let doors open, and doors cannot say We don't recognize that voice on the account of the business he has done with God. That's, that's one of the signs that you found God. It's not in noise, it's not in bragging. It is in what responds when you speak on his account. That you brag about God doesn't put him under pressure to manifest you if he doesn't know you. That the more— look at what the Bible says, Matthew 5:3, Message Translation. Look at this, Matthew 5:3, Message Translation. You are blessed when you are at the end of your rope, with less of you there is more of God and of Israel. Meaning that every time you are at the end of your rope is an avenue for you to find a new dimension of God. It's not an avenue for you to cry. Each time human wisdom is exhausted, there is something divine that is about to be revealed. Each time you have come to the end of all you know to do in life All effort has failed. They've told someone that, okay, there's no way for you to even check whether you are pregnant or not because you don't even have a womb. It means as far as medicine is concerned, that's the end. And childbearing— if there's anything that has the capacity to produce hair, it is divine. God defined the blessing as Whatever puts you at the end of yourself and leave you with God as your only option. Problem can be a blessing in disguise. Disappointment. It was the year that Uzziah died that Isaiah saw God. Many of us are resting on too many— you see, when somebody can leave a meeting like this and get a message, come to my office by 10 AM tomorrow morning, I want to give you that $20,000. The fellow will go and begin to speak what looks like faith. Do you know that before someone said to Mama, God can give you—
everybody that hears it is prepping them because somebody already promised. Everyone that hears it will think, ah, it's faith.
But that faith is resting on the wisdom of men. When it fails, That's when you can now find God. There is something that sounds like faith in God that is not faith in God but faith in men. And once you put your faith on what people say, Bible says, woe to you, meaning that you are bound to come back with shame. But who is it that believes even what God just put a breath of it in his heart and know that he has never failed before, he can't fail now? I have testimonies of moments that I could have been crushed, I could have been finished, He showed up. You will never see him show up if every time he should, you went for Plan B. Every time he should. Many will never know God as the one who has the ability to prosper because of loan apps. Did I touch something?
Are you feeling—
I'm saying, because a girl came to meet me years back and said to me, and said, Pastor, I want to thank you. I said, thank you too. Said, your message, I was blessed. So you saw that I gave my life to Christ during one of the programs? Yes. So tell your God that my school fees The time has come for me to pay. And, um, say, I know how to get the money if he doesn't show up. So I know, so I just need to make one phone call and I'll just sleep somewhere overnight. I will get the money. Said, but you know, I gave my life to Christ under your meeting. So tell your God. So I learned something, that faith is actually a decision to do it God's way. It is not like everything you wait on God for, you can't get it outside God. Say, as a man, you are believing God. A girl broke up with you because you are staying one room apartment. If you decide, if you decide that you want to join a gang for armed robbery, well, they may kill you. Because even Ambrobas need training. They may kill you, fact, but you may survive. True, you survive, then you start bowling.
Then it looks like, see, those who say we can't make it— when you know God, the means—
the end doesn't justify the means.
The means is more important than the end. It will pass you through a process, and the reason why you are going through the process is not for the result. He will show Abraham that the waiting of 25 years is not for Isaac.
Even Isaac must die for a nation to be born.
Because sometimes we may make the mistake and believe that the proof that you wait on God is that you have something to show. I tell you that the proof you wait on God is a lifestyle you get, something that no one can take from you. He said, you shall remember the way, Deuteronomy 8:2, which the Lord your God led you 40 years in the wilderness to test you, to prove you, to humble you, to know what is in your heart, to know whether you will deny him or not.
He said afterwards he caused you to hunger and fed you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers knew anything about, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God. This is what I'm saying here. He caused them to go through all that to make them know All that 40 years to make them know. 40 years curriculum just to know that man live by the word. And you think you know that in one day? When you get to the point where you know, it doesn't matter how thick and how dark is, when he speaks, it is done. Let me share a story with you. Years back, I was sick, though I became sick. Ah, things were bad. I didn't like the symptoms that I was seeing. I was managing it and confessing. Then finally I called my wife. I said, babe, take me to the hospital. He said, eh? He said, you help me, take me to the hospital. She said, one minute. So she went to prepare herself. So I said, ah, wait, God, the hospital is not my PPA. You sent me here on an assignment. I said, Babe, get me a chair. So she put a chair in the compound. I sat down alone. I said, I'm about to go to the hospital. Should I go? Will you be with me there? While I was talking, I saw like a flash, like a mighty angel descended. Like a flash. He didn't say a word. He didn't say don't go. He didn't say I've healed you. I just saw like a flash, like the speed of a bullet, like an angel hit the ground just behind me. I said, I'm not going again. God has responded. On the strength of my walk with God, I understood that whatever I was feeling was an attack. On the strength of my walk with God, I understood that the angel that showed up is an angel of vengeance. The symptoms didn't have to go. The symptoms did not have to go. I said, God has responded. Went to bed that night. Orupo came in past 12, never his culture. Came in with his wife. They said, Apostle is sleeping. He said, no, I must see him. I must see him. I came downstairs, we held hands. Agreed in prayer. I woke up the following morning like a newborn baby. If you don't find something in God, drugs will determine when you die. You don't prepare in a battle, you prepare ahead of it. The knowledge of God fortifies a man ahead of the day of evil.
Make sure, sir, that what you claim to know is not hanging on your head. Make sure it is something rooted in your spirit. Make sure it is formed, that even if the whole earth is crashing down, that even if nations are tumbling, even if all the hosts of hell are deep and released against you, make sure your root is fastened. Make sure Because many elements will come to test the solidity of what we are building. Make sure, make sure you have found the way to the secret place. Make sure, make sure you know how to respond with prayer. Make sure, make sure you are not the believer who says, let's leave prayer and face reality. That is not God they told you about. It is the God you found. By an encounter, by a walk, by something that can be held, something palpable that even at gunpoint you say, can I pretend not to have met him? That even at gunpoint you say, can I pretend not to know the one who sent me? That even if a thousand armies release, your root is deep in him.
Make sure Because as we approach the coming of Jesus, there's going to be wind. Structures will be checked. What we have built over the years will be measured. It will be assessed. Unfortunately, your title is not a proof of your knowledge of God. Make sure Winds will come. Jesus described 3 elements that checks the solidity of a man's structure. The first one is the wind. Second one, the rain. Third one, flood. The rain is a good thing. Isaiah 55:10 says the rain and the snow will not return back to heaven. But that makes the earth bring forth and bud, that may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth. It shall prosper in the purpose for which it is sent. So when the rain is released, there is seed and there's bread. Even good things can check how deep you are. There are people who were fine until money came. And you know my worry. My worry is a man can go through all the regimentations and the rudiments, but what he's looking for is not God. That's, that's, that's, that's how deep the heart of man is, that just one job can make a person— you say, I say, we've not seen you around for a while.
Me?
They didn't tell you I'm busy? Some people, their prize is just millions of naira, and as far as they are concerned, they finished their race, they've received the reward. I shared the story of a pastor who won Lotto. Do you know what Lotto is? This bet, all those bets, he won it. Then close the church. He has finished the race. He has obtained the crown. He has heard, well done, thou good and faithful servant. For how much? If something happens now, let me tell you a story. This happened to me while I was serving. I saw somebody that I liked, so I said— so we became friends. So one of those, I just said She don't just organize, say, let's sit down, let's talk. So we're talking, she said, I know where you are going. I said, it's true, that's where I'm going. So she said, I want to ask you a question, said, and I want to know what kind of man you are. She said, years ago, when my mother was going to give birth to our last born, in the course of the delivery, she died. I said, what? He said, it's true that she died. Doctors declared her dead. Then the father came in and asked that everybody should leave and lock the door with her body for 3 hours and prayed till she came back to life. She said, that's the kind of family I came from, and that's the kind of father I have. Femi Lazarus, are you that kind of man? The sisters we know will ask, what's your base color? But you are asking for my ability to insist on the strength of the God I found. I could not answer that question. Femi Lazarus, I didn't have an answer, and I like to be honest, I didn't have an answer. If you die now, you die. I'm not the one that killed you. Life continues. So I couldn't get the answer, and everybody had to move on, but it was clear. She was not going to give yes to a man who has not found God. When the going get tough, that's when you know people's depth. It will shock you that people who join 3 morning prayer will say, ah, Amadioha is the answer. Are you what I'm saying?
They will do it, come back and continue the morning prayer.
You get what I'm saying?
They will do— come back to church, they can be seated in church listening, but they know when it gets to where it gets to, traditional.
So you know, they know about God, but they have not found him. When you find him, it doesn't become one of your options, it becomes your last your only. You can stake your life on him and you know he doesn't fail. And but you need to now come to the level of the Hebrews that say, even if, even if it doesn't show up, I still won't bow.
It will shock you.
Sometimes I, I, I get worried. I get worried that you see people in church in meetings. It's fantastic, it's beautiful. Hey, but when this thing gets to where it gets to, there are sisters who are firebrand, tongue-speaking, they serve. But when waiting get to a point, an halaji is even an option. Being a third wife is part of the options, because according to them, time is going. But who made time? Did he not say that your time is in his hand? Because nothing shows a man's depth like waiting. All right, if God wants to— want to reveal himself to you, he puts you in a situation where you will have to wait. In waiting, you will manifest your vanity by yourself.
You start saying, you start confessing, and you know, that's how the other time too, God didn't show up.
And then you confess, you repent. Let me tell you, have you ever prayed long prayer? Not long prayer before, long, very long, like 72 hours prayer? When you want to pray such prayer for the first time, I tried it. I started with excitement.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, break record!
Then you get into the prayer, you now start asking, whose idea was this? Then you move from there to being frustrated. It's not supposed to be this difficult though. It's because we're in Nigeria. If we're in America now, she will be praying like this.
You are by yourself.
They now tell you that you have 16 more hours to go. You are in despair. Then 1 hour to go. Hope is alive. At the end of the day, joy comes. That's the way waiting is. You will manifest all streams of emotions. Let patience have a perfect work in you, that you may be whole and entire, wanting nothing. When God wants to reveal himself, he puts you on hold. That while you are waiting, people who are not praying the kind of prayer you are praying will celebrate what you don't have. And guess what? You must rejoice with them. If you don't rejoice with them, it will repeat the system again till you learn to rejoice with them while you still wait. Even while the waiting is still good, now tell you that, okay, now that you have passed phase 1, rejoicing with them, phase 2 is now you now look for somebody who has been waiting longer than you and make the person your own prayer project till the fellow comes out. And you say, Lord, who is praying for me? It doesn't have an answer. I mean, this God is the God that, um, Ruben and his brothers will gather themselves and take Joseph and say, we kill you. And by God's strength, he's preserved. And yet God is preserving Joseph to rescue them, not to show them shaky. Are you feeling— I'm saying that this thing you are saying, when I get it, I'll show those who say I can't make it. The attempt to shoot them is part of what you must die before you enter into what he wants to give you.
That by the time you have— you now touch that thing, it gives you only what he has killed you to. That he doesn't trust you with anything until you first die. All right, because you can say one day we're going to be influential. See, listen, he will kill you to the ability to want to hold it as your lot.
Are you full? I'm saying here, then he trusts with it, so that by the time he gives you that thing, he's not giving you another God. He's still God. When he's going to reveal himself to Abraham, he said, go and sacrifice Isaac, your only son whom you love. Abraham took the knife, raised it to slash the throat. An angel spoke, don't cut his throat. Thus says the Lord, now I know. The one who is not in time should not be saying now I know. Why should he say now I know? Say now I know that you fear me. Ah, so you didn't know before? Listen, there are things God will choose not to know till you act yourself out. You must manifest.
Are you following what I'm saying here? You will manifest who you are.
Then he now said, I swear by myself, in blessing I'll bless you, in multiplying, multiply. He fixed it, but that was after he took it. That's the God the fathers found. The proof of that God is not a result. The proof of that God is a weight, a lifestyle that is palpable.
Something evidential, not the cars. Listen, because all these things, even those who don't know him have them. He's not about to stand and put you side by side with Elon Musk. That's not God. That we can be poor yet making many rich. He's not attempting to put you side by side with any pedestal in the world. Listen to me.
You can be successful 100% in his plan and yet you are not up to your peers. Can I say that again? I know you don't like that. You can be in the center of God's will and yet you are not up to your peers. And as far as God is concerned, where you are is the definition of success. You are succeeding, you are not failing. You only feel small because you are comparing. What's the proof that I found him? What's the proof? What makes me different from those in the world? What makes us different? What are you looking for? A bigger house? A bigger car? Or the revelation of God in your spirit? Um, nowadays I'm careful sharing stories. Let me share a story, and I'm going to share this story because Bishop himself shared it with me. He said in the '80s, someone died And it was someone they held so dear. So they prayed, they did everything. The fellow didn't come back to life. Someone said, let's get across to Baba Atilesha, Prophet Elbadare. So they called him. It was the days of landline, and they told him that so-and-so, secretary of so-and-so, had died. He raised a cry. Baba was blind, and all he said is, "Oluwaseyi wa Gbunkun lo bo retini." My God, will I struggle to take something from you? Let this person come back. She sneezed back immediately. That's transacting with the energy you have found in his presence. Someone was sharing a story about Baba Kondeh in Ede. Baba Kondeh was blind. He told one of the pastors with him, he said he perceived that God was leading him away from the mountain to go and pray. He said the person should follow him.
Please follow me.
The blind man told the pastor who had eyes to follow him. He said, when we get there, I'll tell you. And the way the blind man was now leading the one who has sight, because the one they are looking for now can't be seen with physical eyes. And it was the blind man that would say, turn to the right and turn to the right, turn to the left, turn to the right. And when they got to that spot, he said, said, this is it, this is where he is, you can go. That's the God our fathers found, that they know what his scent looks like. Lift your hands where you sit. I'm tired of being empty. Are you not tired of emptiness? Are you not tired of it? Reveal yourself to me. Let me find the God our fathers found. Let me find the God our fathers found. See, amen. Listen, sorry, I don't take beyond my time. I'm sorry, sir. I heard Daddy Joe saying at Dr. Umar Opai's birthday that when he lost his son, he couldn't find consolation. But in— Umar Opai lost 3. In one day, and he had fired on. If tribulation took you out, you didn't find him well enough. I want you to pray this prayer because there are days coming that will be cloudy, stormy, and some days will be windy. Lift your hands. The God that the fathers found— see, if you have to kneel down, kneel.
If you have to lie, lie. Whatever you must do, but make sure You're not praying casual prayers.
The God that the fathers found, that fastened their roots this much, reveal himself, yourself, to me. Pray that prayer.
Let's pray some more. Let's pray some more. Let's pray some more tonight.
Femi Lazarus.
Father, reveal yourself to me. Reveal yourself to me. Reveal yourself to me. Open my eyes. Draw me to yourself tonight. Let me walk in the footsteps of the fathers. Thank you, Father God, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Praise the name of the Lord. Can we just stand on our feet and just sing a song? I just want to be where you are. Let's sing that song like a minute. Dwelling daily in your presence, I want to worship from afar. Draw me near, draw me near to where you are.
