CHURCH, LOVE AND SEXUAL MATTERS

In this Ambience TV sermon, Apostle Femi Lazarus (referred to as Speaker A) delivers a comprehensive teaching on the health of the local church, especially as the end‑times approach. He begins by citing 1 Timothy 3:15 and Ezekiel 33 to stress that the church must be the “ground and pillar of truth.” He warns that the last days will bring falling away, offense among believers, and a mixture of wheat and tares, urging the body to correct itself without demonising fellow believers. Drawing on personal anecdotes and the testimony of Brother Billy Akonyi, he cautions against a spirit of criticism that loses grace, emphasizing that correction must be rooted in love, prayer, and sound doctrine. He then shifts to practical matters of love and sexuality within the assembly: the church as a social gathering, the dangers of predatory behavior, the need for clear boundaries, and the importance of involving pastors in romantic relationships. He outlines guidelines for singles, married couples, and especially single pastors, referencing Proverbs 5 and 31, warning against misuse of anointing, over‑trust, late‑night chats, and hidden counseling. Throughout, he stresses humility, avoiding the lure of fame, maintaining integrity, honoring marriage, and keeping the focus on God’s truth rather than personal ego. The sermon concludes with a call to accountability, respect for marriage, and a reminder that the church must remain a place of grace, not a venue for personal ambition.

You're watching Ambience TV. 1 Timothy 3:15. Now Paul, speaking to Timothy, said, but if I tarry long, that you may know how you ought to behave yourself. In the house of God. Look at your neighbor and say, behave. It's scriptural. Which is the church of the living God, which also is the ground and the pillar of what? Truth. The ground and the pillar of what? Truth. Now, um, The reason why teaching along this area is so important, um, is because amongst the prophecies that shows us the things that will happen before the coming of Jesus is that one, there will be falling away first. Number two, there will be offense among believers, one to another, then from Christians to to the church. The Bible did not tell us if people will be in their rights to be offended or not. And if there's anything that is peculiar to the end time, it is that it is also referred to in the Bible as the season of the harvest. The harvest of not just what is good but the harvest of both the wheat and the tares. So there are things that have been going on in the permissive will of God. For instance, when the good man sowed good seed in his field, and when men slept, Bible says that the enemy came and sowed tares in the field. And then they said, what, Doshin Emi has done this? But he said, allow the wheat and the tares to be together. Because there is a time that there will be a separation. Now there's a book, I plan to even share this tomorrow, um, that I'm reading. And, um, the man who wrote the foreword of the book is a man I respect so much, and that's the person of Brother Billy Akonyi. He shared about how that in the early, late '70s, many of the things that the Nigerian church is now faced with were the things that some of them saw ahead, that some things were creeping into the church and they're going to become trouble later. So he said— now I'm quoting him now— he said he did something. He, number one, exempted himself from the teachings that was producing such thoughts. Then number two, also separated himself to begin to teach against them. And he said he did not know when he got to the point that he became a critic of everything he was seeing in the body of Christ. He said he did not know that he got to the point that he could no longer see grace in other preachers, or when he see them, he was seeing what was wrong. And God said, I have not sent you to do this to my body, but to labor over my body in prayer and in correct doctrine. You can get to a point in correcting the body of Christ that you no longer see grace. And these are tiny pitfalls. And he said in order for him to understand what he was doing wrong, one time he was going to minister somewhere and he was in a taxi, and some people entered the taxi who did not know that Bob Billy was in the taxi, and they were talking about the meeting they were going to attend. And they were saying to themselves, let's go, let's go and attend that meeting, let's hear what is new so that we can know what is also trending in the body of Christ and which minister is going to deal with today. He said when he heard that, his heart sank. There is a place of correction in the body of Christ, but beware of the way you criticize a man's bride. The body of Christ is the bride of Christ. Don't demonize the body in correcting the body. There is a way the ministry of correction can even affect those who are standing, and they feel, who is even doing what is right? Whether in movies or in speech, when you show what is wrong, show what is right. When you show fake, show original so we don't destroy the whole lump. That's the balance. So when you hear stories, people have reasons to be offended. And, and, and, and, and, and that's why he said that our charismatic movement, we have to be careful. We have to go back to sound teaching. I don't believe in meetings where from morning till night, oh, I see 24 angels descending, oh, I see fire. Teach. It is very easy not to labor, and yet you can flow in the anointing. Real labor is known in doctrine and in prayer. Let me give another insight. As we approach the coming of Jesus, knowledge will be increasing, but I make bold to tell you that many of the older generations taught what they knew according to the revelation they had. In sincerity and integrity of heart. If they knew better, they will do better. Don't call them thieves. You can't be under— in a sound church where the word of God is taught soundly and be a rebel. When you belong to a family, carry the spirit of the family. In this house, we don't go on social media to curse people. We see what is wrong, but we teach what is right. I've called several ministers several times, and I've landed in trouble. Oh boy, that thing you taught, go and check it. And I do that because I would— I will appreciate somebody calling me and say, hey Apostle, that message is not— in fact, I've had someone call me and say, I saw your clip, I didn't understand it. I apologized and I came here to reteach it. But when you demonize the person, number one, the correction you want to achieve, you won't achieve it. Number two, you are breaking brotherhood. We must rightly discern the body of Christ. God told me to go back to writing. I used to write a lot before, so I wrote an article yesterday titled Don't Dance. Let me read it, maybe it's going to help. Those coming, so you know what to dance to. Don't dance. We often forget that David killed Goliath because Saul trusted him enough to take the platform. Think about the deal Goliath proposed. It was direct. Whoever loses the nation of the fellow— the nation that the fellow represents automatically becomes the slave to the other. Saul allowing David was Saul trusting the nation of Israel into his hands. When the women of the land began singing that David had killed 10,000 and Saul his thousands, it was not a song to dance to. There is something tricky about influence. It is a tiny bit you can take if you are not careful. The moment people are blessed by your exploit, they immediately begin to suggest that you are better than all who had gone before you. Don't dance to that music. It is a bit. When you take the bit, you become a flash in the pan. If the devil can't stop you He will seek to recruit you. Make his voice yours and his opinion clearly and intelligently heard through you. Don't dance to it. Before dancing to the music, be attentive to know when the sound of shame is mixing with the sound of fame. Influence is tricky. Don't dance. I have— thank you. I have called a few gospel ministers in the body of Christ to warn. Seasons will come that your voice will penetrate everywhere. Don't keep the season, maximize it, because seasons are meant to change. If you are doing what is correct, people can't hail you all the time. If they hail you all the time, you out of the will of God. There is a part of your assignment that will hurt them. There is. Don't try to— don't be addicted to attention. Be solid. Teach. Because when, when the devil sees that you addicted to attention, he will make you entertain his own. You'll be entertaining his own, and you can be doing so in Jesus' name. You can speak in tongues in between, but you have deviated. It's a very tiny line, very, very tiny. Be careful to know when you have crossed. I tell myself all the time, I cannot betray the body of Christ. So I can't project myself to be better than anybody. I just face my assignment, period. One time somebody went to post online that all these pastors here at Debo should go and learn from these new ministers like Apostle Femi Lazarus. Stupid. Go and learn. Eh, like Daddy, eh, Joko, sit down, let me teach you some things. When a child has more clothes than the elders You can't have more rags than them. The meaning of that adage is what you are celebrating today as your clothes, they used it yesterday. It has become rags. As your clothes start becoming rags, a new generation with clothes will drag you. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how sound anybody may sound. When we are close to the end of our race, another better generation would emerge. That emergence should not be a way to demonize the old. We are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ himself being the cornerstone. That's church. So let me wrap up by saying this: if your knowledge makes you demonize another person, you've always been looking for a venue to feel important. Can I come again? If your knowledge makes you demonize another person, it is because you've always been looking for a venue to feel important. That's insecurity. That's low self-esteem. By the grace of God, God has blessed me with the grace to teach, and, um, I I have people I look up to, and I have people that look up to me. In this kingdom, followers, follow followers— nobody's there. We are all striving towards the mark of the high calling. Yes, sir. Amen. Are you getting blessed? Be careful. When they praise you and your head swells, your crown will fall. Be careful, be careful. Don't hype yourself to death. We get offended everywhere. In our families, at our place of work, even sometimes in the vehicles you take, and in church. Why does it look different in church? Very simple: expectations. Church is the gathering of the saints, but it is not heaven. You may call the atmosphere heaven on earth, but heaven knows itself and the earth knows itself. And whether you believe it or not, it doesn't matter how you— you, you, you, you, you know the things you are trusting God to take away from your life. And I make bold to tell you, you are not the only one trusting God. People too are trusting God. Somebody is saying, 2024, I will not smoke cigar again. And the fellow is fighting it, receiving grace every time in the name of Jesus. So you may— worship might be going on and the fellow is on the floor rolling and The fellow is actually taking his strength because he knows the urge will come after service. So you now caught the person buying Rotmans, you say, is that not the brother that used to serve God? Leave his Bible on the floor now, you see what he's buying. He's collecting strength too, and that strength, it's not taking enough. That's why he's filling the gap. So what I'm saying is that Moderate your expectation, all right? As long as people are on earth, they will disappoint you, sir. Is the truth. Mhm. I love Apostle Femi Lazarus. He talks calmly. Na lie. One day we come in our bus. So no, you have to understand that. Are you following what I'm saying here? So, so you cannot power other people's life with your own expectation. That's witchcraft. Understand that we are all work in progress, work in progress, and allow God do the work on his people. He is the one who said, I will build my church. That church is not a building, is you and I. He said, and the gate of hell will not what? Prevail. There are many reasons for people to be offended at the church. The global church can't be this large and there will not be issues. There will be. I gave an illustration yesterday. If you've not seen the video, go check it. I use protest. And what happens during protest as an illustration to how the devil— to show how the devil smuggles people in and use one person to discredit the entire body. There are things I see online that if I did not know God, I would struggle to be a Christian. That's the truth. Somebody can come and say that this land I don't want to give any example because our bloggers, they are blessed. Say this land I'm standing on, if you can come and pack the sand of this land for ₦250,000, that's your breakthrough. You will look at it and say, ah, ah. Sometimes it is the vivid display of fake miracle. You know this is fake. How can you get up from the dead for 4 days and you are eating shawarma? Now, now, now, no, it's, it's concerning. Particularly the people who are watching too are not daft. So the, the, the— and, and, and I, I love the Pentecostals, but the unbridled movement that anybody can start anything and get away with it. And I have sounded a warning: if the body of Christ will not regulate itself, one day so God will raise a government that will, and it will not be persecution. It will be God wanting done what he wants to do. And let me say this to you so you can know, it is not every— let me leave it. It can be taken by the devil. No, it can be. I know what I'm saying. It can be. There are signal we don't put out. Are you following what I'm saying? So if you're offended at certain things you see in the body of Christ, do your part. Don't leave church because you are angry. It is bona fide children that stays to repair their father's house. With the kind of insult we receive every day, some of us are standing. I will not say because they insult pastors, let me dust my certificate and show that No, we are here. We were called for such a time as this. We signed before we entered that it will not be easy. Oh, we are here. Settle it in your mind, it is your father's business and you are not going anywhere. Don't treat church as one dada. Is just selecting one out of many options. Everybody should know how to behave themselves in the house of God, meaning that if you are in love, you should know how to behave yourself. If you come to church with the purpose of looking for somebody you can take home and take to bed, then you are a wolf among sheep. Let me show you a scripture. Ezekiel chapter number 33. Ezekiel 33. If you're there, say amen. If you are looking for Ezekiel after Exodus, is a sign that you need discipleship. Ezekiel 33, say amen if you're there. Now let's— I want you to project for me in Message translation. We're going to start the reading from, um, verse 30. Ezekiel 33, from verse 30. As for you, son of man, you have become quite the talk of the town. Your people meet on the street corners and in front of their houses and say, let us go hear the latest news from God. Verse 31. They show up as the people tend to do and sit in your company, they listen to you speak, but they don't do a thing you say. For instance, if you really listen to the teachings in this house, there should not be any man who is treating his wife bad. There should not be any woman who is being rude to the husband. There should not be any married person who is out for single girls. And there should not be single guys who have become hotspot. You know hotspot? There can be multiple connections once you on your Wi-Fi connect. There shouldn't be. There shouldn't be people who are privileged to be bosses at work and are sexually predating young people. You can come as the people come, and yet you are acting like one who is on his way to hell. There shouldn't be anyone here who have house help maltreating them like you know tomorrow. There shouldn't be. There should be conduct we shouldn't find amongst us. There shouldn't be anyone who is here who goes all out and speak words without checking who cares about the pastors. There shouldn't be. There are things that the teaching of God's word should take away from your life, but it happens. They flatter you with compliments, but all they care about is making money and getting ahead. That's all they care about. Look at it. Verse 32 said to them, you are merely entertainment, a country singer of sad love songs playing a guitar. They love to hear you talk, but nothing comes of it. But when all this happens, and it's going to happen, they will realize that the prophet was amongst them. These are serious matters. That said, the Bible said everything we just read now. That said, it means that you can be hot in church on love matters, and I'm going to tell you why and how to go about it. Dealing with church hot, but I'm teaching on church love and what? Sexual matters. The local assembly is a very sensitive place, and apart from being a gathering that is spiritual in nature, we must also not lose sight of the fact that it is a social gathering. Social gathering in the sense that it gives people the opportunity to mingle, give people the opportunity to interrelate and to connect. So as we are seated here, we have the opportunity to meet new people, and unfortunately there are people that abuse it. They abuse it. You see people and look at their kind of car and start stating family problems. That's, that's predating on people. It's wrong. It's bad culture. Anybody who does that does not represent this church and what we stand for. So you can get out in church. We are all God's children, but we are work in progress. We are somewhere in the process. Uh, for some, all is well. For some, all is getting well. For some, all is not well. So you have to be careful. The louder the tongues is not necessarily the better the husband material. Or the better the wife material. Be careful. There are people who have learned to do well what they do in church, but they have not learned to do well what they do everywhere else. So don't be quick to make conclusions. Don't be quick to get into a relationship. Don't be quick about marriage and settling down. 2024 must be my year. Who said so? I think somebody said that there are people that once you marry, you never suffer oppression again, say because the devil himself is now in your house. So you are finished. Are you there? So it is not unlikely that as we come to church, we see ourselves— people, single people start liking each other. Please mark that word: single people. Singles. The moment you are married, break your antenna. You have nothing connecting to again. Preach that gospel to your neighbor. Amen. You also advise, dear brothers and sisters, learn to post your spouse. I'm the quiet type. It's causing problem. It's causing problem. You see, you don't have to say, oh, the apple in my eyes. No. Just say things that suggest, okay? When people see that you are a possessed person once, twice, three times, everybody will understand. There are people that they are only coming close to you because you give them green light. Don't let them come only to say, ah, you are my sister, you are just my brother. It's not good, it's not good. We are adults. If somebody is getting close to you and you know this fellow is beginning to like you, you know, you call. Hello, how you doing? You use the word I miss you. The fellow say I miss you too. You ask what are you doing? Say I'm doing this, I'm doing that. You are trying to graduate to switch to video call. Some of you have graduated. You have started something. You have. I said you have started something. Are we sure I should still continue? Okay, let me go directly so I don't waste time. How do you go about relationship in a local assembly? Tell your pastor. I'm not the pastor type. Red flag. Yes, sir. How should you be a sheep and not be a shepherd type? Tell the pastor, I like her. Pastor can say, what's your genotype? Say yes. Okay, I know her genotype. He say yes, it can work. Pastor can— and this is what we do, we use style. Somebody can come and say, Apostle, I like her. Now say he like you. No, no, no, no. Just come, how you doing? I'm fine. I've not even seen you post any guy. What's the problem? Is something wrong? Say no, no, no, I'm just— for this season they are not coming. Okay, you start praying. I tell the guy, so we've give— we've— any pastor who is sane will not block the road now. Clear road. You want marry plenty wife, clear road. And if there are— if it gets to the point that pastor is saying, say you pray, say yes, say pray again. No. If you come back and say, no, no, God came down from heaven, showed me she's the one, fire on. Father, please back your son up. Let him not come back with In Jesus' name, amen. Pastor, pastors don't choose who you marry, we guide. Pastors don't matchmake. I frown at it. There's a single guy there. No. What did God do? He made Adam, he made Eve pass. What did Adam say? The woman you gave me. Once you matchmake, you will not have rest till you die, because every time something goes wrong, somebody is causing you there. And that's why there is no same church. You take 20 names, they pray and say this one is your husband. Ah, you have cheso, you have confidence. I told you a story of my friend, shared the story. A member of the church of the father pastors took names to the father. Unfortunately for the guy, he took a name too. All right, I didn't know why he didn't like the woman, but just took the name. And, um, anyways, the prophet looked at all the names and said, that's your wife. That's, that's wrong. That's wrong. As many as are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. You see, let God do the choosing for you. They can recommend somebody because fellow is rich and the fellow is at the last. Tell your pastor, be accountable. Many times the things they say pastor should not hear, it is pastor that will settle it. So tell your pastor. At least, how can you be in the church and you are being blessed? Say no, no, no, I don't trust pastors. Say let's just keep this thing secret, it's just us. I don't, don't bring pastors to my affair. This is Red flag, unless you are a desperate desperado. Because the guy already enters your life and he sees that all your values change once there's somebody who loves you. He knows you are not thinking properly. Why would they not take advantage of you? Tell your pastor. You have a mentor, tell the mentor. Number 2, all right, how to go about relationship in local assembly. Be careful of talking stage that looks like marriage. Huh? We're just talking, we're just talking, but you are leading this person on. So it's not about you, it's about the person too. Let's consider the other person's emotion. I mean, you can't compliment people and say, I love the dress you wore to church today, you look so amazing, this, this, this. Tell me, when are you going to work tomorrow? Okay, I'm going to call you in the morning. Did you watch EPC this morning? Wow, I saw what Apostle said. Oh wow, can we pray together? You are doing all those things, you are leading the person on. No, is the truth. And sometimes it is possible that someone can be in church and be leading 5 different people on. And on this— this fellow didn't study project management but can manage. They will manage all of you. You will never meet. And you too, that you are somewhere in the project they are managing. You are saying, that's my guy, anytime, any day, come sun, come shine. See, you will saw. Don't take your heart on the journey without your brain. Anybody who is proud of being public with you has something to hide. So be careful. Stop doing multiple shots. Let me shoot my shot at 5. If one at least answer me, I know I'm out of this situation. Stop doing that. You are not an hunter. You're supposed to be a gardener, one who stays with something and nurtures it till it grows. Tell your neighbor, are you sleeping? Come on, wake up, wake up. Are you still here? Now listen to this. You are not permitted to be sexual until you are married. You are talking to a lady. I don't care whether you're in a relationship, you are discussing sexual fantasies. Is what I like. You get to— yeah, yeah. You need to see people's WhatsApp and see the kind of emojis they are sending. They think we are Jew men, that we don't understand those things. Yeah, different one. Distributor, power holding, just distributing power up and down. And some people are professional flat, professional flat. They are smooth, smooth, smooth. When they talk to you, they will sweep you off your feet. The fellow has everything a man wants in a woman except sense. Everything except sense. Professional flirts. They'll flirt with you, you will not even know they are flirting with you. You that you are shouting, they will flirt with you and still tell you, let us pray. I'm telling you. Tell her, are you sleeping? Come on, Masun, wake up. And I understand that sometimes while in relationship, breakups happen. I've said it, whether in Christian Assembly or anywhere, normalize breakup. People know the reason why they are saying, I don't think I can cope with this. Don't be a witch to say, ah, we are not together again. Ah, once you observe it, take it. You are not mother-in-law that they'll come and tell you we are no longer together. Okay, what's your role in it? Are you following what I'm saying here? So, see, among the people you saw that stood up to be in a relationship, some of them may stitch up breakfast before the year ends. And no, it's the truth. No, it's the truth. And some of them will be the ones to serve. Everybody will eat something. So when the status change, it has changed, okay? That's why you two, you are— so sometimes somebody's in a relationship God spoke to one person, now the coast is clear, your pastor knows. And there are people who are single who are not ready to mingle. Don't force it on them now. Let's respect people's desires. And the fact that you are a pastor everybody like doesn't mean this girl will fall for you. She said she doesn't want. You say, ah, with all the grace of my life, I'm the one you turn down like this? If I be a man of God, let God judge between us. Pastor, nobody send you this one. They know they use Pastor Duam. If they— are you following what I'm saying? See, the assumption that because you're a pastor everybody likes you— you are not ice cream. So people know what they want. Are you following what I'm saying here? Don't listen to what I'm saying. Don't bamboozle anybody that so that this person can like me, I make you the assistant coordinator. Yeah, yeah, you stitch up. No, nothing will happen. So normalize breakup. And move on. And the invisible in-laws, move on. Huh? Do what? Tell me, how did he happen? I thought you guys were good. What's your concern? 3 benefits of carrying your pastors along. Number 1, for guidance, not control. Guidance. Number 2, for accountability. Number 3, for insight. The pastor can give you insight, go about it this way and all that. We know many things. We are the ones that know people, somebody who is planning breakup, somebody that they are planning to break up with. We used to know, but when they tell us, so we just be praying along and we don't take stand. We don't take, because if somebody say I don't want, you say you must want. As who? See, it is very— it is not too difficult to finish your race with peace. If you start passing your boundary, that's when they will cut your head. John the Baptist left preparing the way for the Messiah to start talking about people's relationship. They killed him. He died.— ino— okay, accountability. Okay, so for accountability's sake, it is your duty and it is important to build cordial relationship with your pastor so that we can be of help whenever we are needed. Okay. Um, in order to get right relationship in church, beware of the following. In order to get right relationship in church, beware of the following. Number 1: overtrusting. Don't overtrust people. For this person to be around Apostle all the time, this fellow must be sane. It's not true. It's not true. It's not true. I want to make sure I marry one of Apostle's sons or daughters. I know they will be— wants to hear what is not true. I stand here to guarantee you, you can suffer. It's not true. Okay, beware of overtrusting. Number 2, don't create an atmosphere where evil can thrive. Don't create an atmosphere where evil can thrive. Never forget this formula: attention breeds affection. Attention breeds affection. You are not a robot. There are journeys when you take your emotions on those journeys you will never return in one piece. Beware of late night chats, chat into the night, chat till 2 AM. You are not discussing meaningful things, you are being sexual. Every time you are chatting, you are having erection. That's wrong chat. You are asking her questions, how do you feel? So I feel like having you here by my side right now. This is how people come back and say, 'It's not what I did to you, Femi Lazarus.' Now you not get sense. You are somebody are not dating, he didn't tell you he's not in a relationship. Every time, because if I can take him on that journey, I can keep him. Are you It is he that watches over Israel, that never sleep nor slumber. Are you following what I'm saying? We have to tell you before somebody will say, I can't go to that church again, every time I see him my heart is beating, to avoid wahala, unsee him now. Are you following what I'm saying? One time, I think I shared this story with the pastor yesterday night. A sister came to meet me, pastor in Campus Fellowship, and then somebody told her about me, said she had some issues, um, she did something, the Holy Ghost was keeping her list. Holy Ghost doesn't keep my list. I prayed for her right there. We're talking at the cafeteria, she got baptized in the Holy Ghost, was speaking in tongues, blah blah blah. Then we started talking, and in all honesty, I just felt, sister, brother, So one day we were talking, she asked me, what do you feel? I said, I feel the Holy Ghost. I don't know, I did not know what I should feel. I wasn't feeling anything. She was disappointed. I said, no, no, not like that. I mean, I mean, I mean, we are talking, what do you feel? I thought, I thought, I said, I feel the presence of God. Don't try to pacify people by agreeing to what you are not feeling so that I don't make the person feel bad. Sometimes hurt them so that both of you will not be hurt in the future. Number 3, be careful of uncertain prolonged conversations, particularly the one that breeds assumptions. If you ever— if you have to start asking, are we dating or not, then it means something is wrong about positioning. Okay, so let me get into this one, but I'm going to get much more into it by next week. For pastors now, pastoral boundaries for pastors. This is a guideline for anyone who wants to assume the office of a clergy, and this must be understood. And but to start with, I'm going to start with single pastors, single pastors. Proverbs chapter number 5. Before I even read that scripture, close your notes, look up everybody. It is a very, very serious thing. To be single and to be pastoring. Okay, it can be quite complicated, particularly when all the people you are working with are also single. So I'm going to talk to you from biblical perspective, but because I've been there. And, um, someone, one of the sisters was talking to me and she said, say, we're even glad you are married now because you became more accessible. So when you were not married, you don't know how to treat us. It's not like I don't know how to treat you, but there's a way I can be caring and it can be misunderstood. So when I was getting married to my wife, there was no room for anybody to say, I'm leaving the church because Apostle led me on. I did not. They are here, and those who are not here are online. I have never in my life said anything suggesting— never. I would rather die. Carry somebody's daughter, lock the door? Never. Just be careful. See, careful of what we call grace that we abuse. If there's anybody say, Apostle Lazarus, touch me, say something sexual to me, let me on, come out. That you're a pastor doesn't mean you should be stupid. And don't overrate yourself that because you're a very handsome pastor, all the girls must like you. Na lie o. See, this thing we are doing, the beauty of this our work is that we maintain integrity. The day you lose that integrity, your ego will become a chicken that is walking on the streets, and they will match you. Pray that day will never come in your life, that they are now asking you, you call yourself a man of God? So be careful. Let me read Proverbs chapter number 5. If you're there, say amen. Let me tell you, one time like that, we were still running service in my parlor. One Sunday morning, Elsayed, the pastor, came to see me. I said, all right, no problem, let Let's see, um, the man came and I— till tomorrow I honor the man. I, I don't know what he looks like. I've never seen him after then. I didn't have any reason to. Brought a girl to my house and said the girl is his spiritual daughter, that God has spoken to that girl in the most convincing way that I was her husband. I'm polite, so you may not know when you are going wrong. I said, wow, really? He says, yes, it's amazing, good God. So I said, all right, sir, I'm going to pray. So he said, all right. So when he was going, he wrote the number of the girl in the paper and gave me. As he left, I tore the number. Dumped in dustbin. We should not meet again. Your singleness is not an avenue for you to abuse your anointing. The anointing attract. It is the anointed that should know how to go about it. Anointing attract. There are people who would have still been alive even though that they were anointed. The devil wants to mock you, wants to knock you out. Be careful, the devil wants to knock you out, planning your defeat. There's a bounty on your head. There are times you lock yourself up, say, take this infirmity from me. So I didn't tell you. It is not your handsomeness that makes girls flock around you. Sometimes it's your foolishness. Beware of being so caring that you are leading many sisters on as a single pastor. Don't do counseling in odd places. Don't do counseling behind closed doors. Be careful. Don't counsel in odd hours. Don't fix counseling for vigils. Be careful. One time I counseled a lady who said that— I want to quote her words exactly— that she's not been able to sleep. I said, wow. Are you having nightmares? Said no. What's happening? The devil is a liar. See, pastors, be calming down. He said, sir, I've been thinking about you. Number one, I don't have what it takes to proceed with this counseling at this point. I would have to recommend you to another so that even my counseling will not be taken as something else. And you shut the door. If I tell you some of the old things I've heard counseling, you will believe that no human being should be able to say it, but we have heard it. So ministry is in such a way that if you don't tame your sexual desire, you can never finish well, particularly when God start blessing you with resources and you think you can go anywhere and waste your life. Don't waste your life. Don't waste your virality. Don't trade your strength. Um, before I read that Proverbs 5— I don't have time to read it, maybe by Tuesday— but let me show you Proverbs 31. Proverbs 31. This is the words of King Lemuel. Are you there? Which, um, the prophecy that his mother gave him. What, my son? And what the son of my womb, and what, the son of my vows. Give not your strength unto women, or your ways to that which destroys kings. You want to really, really finish well. By the time you are done with your race, you want to exit this world with honor. Stay clear, stay very clear. For the sake of the things I'll teach during the week that many of you would not be— may not be able to follow, a married pastor, project your wife. And if you are the shy type, let your wife project you. My wife, Pastor Mimi, I'm blessed. Sometimes she's taking video, I don't know, and I've never complained. Do it. It's a way to mark territory, and it is important. Yes, the day my wife advised I stop seeing somebody, that's the last day I will see the person. What do I want to say? I'm the one God called. Do you know? Do you know? Yeah, yeah, you'll be in the mud. The moment you start disrespecting your wife, you are blowing your lifeline. May not end well. Carry your spouse on your head. Let people know you are in love so they will not think you are not and be looking for a way to help you. And that doesn't just have to do with pastors alone. You're a married man, carry your wife on your head. Eh, my, my wife, my wife is not fashionable. Buy the clothes. No, be why you take no fashion with that. Buy the clothes, buy it, go online, save. I have more pictures of female wears on my phone than male wears. Me, to avoid stress, that's why I dress like this. I, I have— I can't think what color of tie should I— I don't have any energy for— I don't have the time. Somebody said you have the idea of— I said fantastic, go and make as many as possible. But my wife, we're a court of flying colors. You are the display of my foolishness or my wisdom, so display it. And when you marry somebody's daughter and the parent treated her better, you're a bad husband. Treat her well. Attraction has a lot to do with law of focus. If you focus on your wife that she's beautiful, she'll be the most beautiful in the world. But if you keep nagging, she say, ah, she didn't even walk, you don't even, don't even walk majestically, how will that woman be everywhere? So in case somebody is doubting if I'm married or not, I am. Come. Amen. Wait, I'm not peppering anybody. I'm saving my own life. Are you following what I'm saying here? Many have done well, but she exceed all of them. So You can't carry your spouse like a pinch of salt and expect people to respect your spouse. Let's respect the institution called marriage. By keeping quiet about your marriage, you are giving room for adultery. Don't keep quiet. Is that okay now? And any single lady you are discussing with about your spouse, you are empowering the person to disrespect your spouse and to also commit adultery with you. You don't go tell single girls what to enjoy. Don't tell people what to enjoy or don't enjoy about your wife. Adultery is not a difficult thing. It doesn't take forever to have sex. You can start asking yourself, how did I get here, to avoid it. Take caution. And let me say this to you: immorality runs in families. If you don't fight to win, your children will have to struggle. And I hope one day those children will not grow up and wish you were not their father. One true way you can love your children is to love their mother. One true way. The children that Biskit is pacifying now It will take leadership to pacify them tomorrow. Lead well, lead well. Treat your wife well now that you are strong, so that your death will not be her freedom. Treat your wife well. I always check to see— I'm the kind of man that believe that men should be celebrated because I do my part. And as a leader, when I'm not around, the space is there. I check, am I leading well? Am I doing what I should do? Or am I a tyrant to my spouse? Don't conquer your wife. Don't say I didn't warn you. Don't care whether you're a bishop or a pastor. Respect that institution called marriage and you finish well, in Jesus' name. You're watching Ambience TV.
