Um, about, um, 9 years ago We had an award party where we invited notable NGOs involved in social impact, and I met one of the guys— if I mention his name, everyone should know him— doing amazing work. The country. And when I met him, I couldn't greet him. I had to excuse myself to cry because I felt I've never met any human this great. His humility was unbelievable. I felt convicted by his humility. Sometimes you get to places and people try to show you how big they are, and you know immediately the fellow is so small on the inside. How do you know a great man? Humility. Pastor is one of the greatest pastors I've ever met. Let me say this categorically, and you can take it as pride, is okay. I'm a man who knows who he is and the weight of my words, so I don't throw it around, and I'm not apologetic about it. I've met people. Pastor stands out. Stands out. One of the questions I've been asking myself is, when I get to his age, will I be as humble as he is? I honor you, sir. Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. Wow, this is what a proper church should look like. Please sit for a moment. I can tell you how this meeting— we all know how this meeting is starting. Or we may not know how it will end. So I will stress you a bit because many times you feel like standing and jumping. I say sit down, sit down. All right, that's one thing you always hear in my messages. Learn to take it. So anyways, it's not like I'm that deep, just something simple we are going to share. I'm so sorry. I was supposed to be here on Wednesday. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it down. Amen. I'm gonna be teaching on the subject titled The Nature of God's Word. Now, whenever I'm preaching, I'm always looking at instrumentalists. I know I'm not the pastor they like now. But me to you, I love you. Do you believe I love you? I'll take some pictures with you and I'll post online. I see instrumentalists love me. Oh yes, amen. What did he say? You love me too? Now you are looking at me scary. What's going on? Are you sure? Thank you. I went somewhere, one guy was looking at me, I said, sir, are you a musician? It's not that deep. Alright, we want to look at that subject, the nature of God's word. When you want to look at the nature of a thing, you want to look at the composition, what it comprises of. Part of the element you want to also look like is the characteristics of it. Alright, what's God's word like? And what exactly is God's word? What is God's word capable of doing? And maybe I touch a little bit on Why should we even sit under the word in the first place? So let's look at the Bible. Let's look at the book of John. John chapter number 6. Thank you, Lord. Please, just 30 seconds, all eyes closed. There's somebody here who is to pack out of a house next week and you don't know where next you're going to. Please just raise that hand. Just— it's one person, is one person. Please raise that hand. Don't be shy. All eyes closed, I beg you. You don't know where next you're moving to. Where's the person? No, don't be shy to raise your hands. I just— okay, seeing you. Thank you. Put it down. All right, thank you. All eyes open. This is one of the reasons why we should gather. Because what you might be scrambling for, we sort it in 1 minute. Consider it done, sorted. Never have to struggle again. John chapter number 6. Okay, glory. John chapter number 6, amen, verse 63. And I want us to look at it carefully. It is the spirit that quickeneth. It is what? The spirit that quickeneth. You know, sometimes King James has a way of bringing the net and all the stuffs and the dow. The flesh profited nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. The words Sorry, can I have an handkerchief? Sorry, sir. I'm sorry. Um, you know, um, what many don't understand about me is that I just don't teach. I'm sorry, the word gets me really emotional. I'm trying to hold myself back. Because when I look at what the nature of God is and how far we are from the reality, it's heartbreaking. And there's nothing I'm going to teach you, and I say this with all humility, that we have not demonstrated and we are demonstrating. I understand the power of the word, and in our ministry, cancer gets cured like headache gets cured. Not extra anointing. The word. One time, years back, I was in a meeting they call an impartation meeting at night one evening, and they invited one man of God for the impartation meeting. And the idea of impartation everyone had was that, you know, at some point someone is saying, receive, take it there. I see ball of fire, I see you drink this, you drink petrol and all the stuff. And hey, so people fall, break chairs, and all that were not happening. So the man of God was struggling and I was getting embarrassed on his behalf. So unfortunately he asked the question. So he said, is there anyone here who knows the song that used to sing? That makes the Holy Ghost move. Unfortunately, someone answered and said, Holy Ghost attack, attack. I said, utaka, what am I hearing? All those struggles are not necessary. Wherever the word of God is, the Spirit is moving. The Spirit was brooding over the surface of the earth, and the earth was still void and empty. What was the spirit waiting for? The word to activate. That the moment God said, let there be light, and there was light. The word of God is powerful. Look at that scripture we just read so you can understand what I'm talking about. Go back. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. Look at this in Good News Translation. So I use loads of translation while teaching to help me get Good News, get Message, get Amplified, and get Passion. So I'm going to be calling interchangeably. So give us that same scripture. John 6:63 in Good News. Do you have Good News translation? So let me read Good News from here. Oh, thank you, Lord. What gives life is God's Spirit. Human power is of no use at all. The words I have spoken to you brings— bring God's life-giving spirit. The words I'm speaking to you, once the word goes forth, it brings God's life-giving spirit. Look at what God's Word Translation says. Life is spiritual. Your physical existence doesn't contribute to that life. The words I have spoken to you are spiritual. They are life. Powerful. Let me read Amplified. And I read Message. So you can project Message translation or Amplified translation. It is the Spirit who gives life. He is the life giver. The flesh conveys no benefit, whatever. There is no profit in it. The words, truth that I've been speaking to you are spirit and life. So we've seen some clues that the word there is also the truth. I read Message translation. Can they give me that now? Thank you, thank you. Okay, no, go to verse 63. Um, Okay, that's it. The spirit can make life. Share muscle and willpower. Don't make— quickly, next verse. Don't make anything happen. Every word I have spoken to you is a spirit word, and so it is life-making. Every time you— God speaks, what he's saying is not a statement. It is a spiritual force capable of performing whatever he's saying. It is a spiritual force. Capable of performing whatever I say. I understand the danger of preaching what you are not living. That's why I get very emotional when I talk to people. Years back, I became quite sick. And I was managing it. So at one point, and I was doing everything I should do, every program were going on, but nobody knew I was badly sick. So one evening I called my wife and I said, you know what, take it from me. Take me to the hospital now. She said, what? Ah, you are speaking like this? Give me a moment. Then she went inside to change and get some things. Then when she came out, I remember, ah, God, you sent me to this city. My PPA 'Place of primary assignment is not the hospital, although my health is demanding that. I want to go. Should I go?' Then, so I said, 'Get me a chair.' So I sat down on the chair outside in our compound with my head bowed, my head bowed. And I saw like a flash. I'll say it like a strong angel, like a flash, like a flash. He sent it and no word. So I said, you know what, I'm not going again. The one who sent me has responded. He said, are you sure? Please, we can go now. And I tell you, every symptom I was feeling, 100%, was still there. Every symptom. So I went to bed. My friend came in that night around 12, unusual of him. We prayed together. I woke up the following day like a newborn baby. Fresh. Rejuvenated. Have you seen Christians go through situations that they begin to say, let's leave the word and face reality? And it makes human sense. There is a way I can teach the mixture of the lamb and sheep, and there's a way you teach a sheep. You want to make sense to people, speak from sense realm. You want to speak spiritual things, speak to spiritual people. But albeit we speak wisdom amongst them that are mature, yet not the wisdom of this world, all right, that comes to nothing. The wisdom— not the wisdom of this world that comes to— it doesn't produce anything. And some of us, and sometimes I've seen the pattern, that the message we seem to love and the message that seem to trend is the message that meet us at the point of our immaturity. And you begin to hear that the message makes sense. Well, I can tell you, if it's making sense, it's not equipping you. The message that equips you, convicts you, challenges your level, and push you to go higher— many times it doesn't make sense. And we're going to teach that kind of message, we'll be dragged. Because how do you tell the woman that— what's his name now— met gathering sticks that had just food to eat and a child, and he said, make for me first? She should trend. Poor widow feeding mega church man of God. But the ways of the spirit are not the ways of men. And the essence of being in church is that we are being translated from one level of glory into another. The word of God is actually changing our reasoning, it's changing our thought process, changing our morphological structure, changing everything inside out. That's how you measure spiritual growth. The word is producing a new man entirely. That's how you know it, because the words are spiritual. And guess what? It means they can't be seen. The words that I speak unto you, they are spiritual. They can't be seen, but they produce. Effect. They produce what can be seen. Let me show you another scripture. Isaiah chapter number 55. Let's start reading from verse 10. Isaiah 55:10. I get the gist now. Quickly, media, help me. For as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven, so is like in, um, the way these two comes down. Now talking about the procession of the word. And do not return there, but water the earth and make it bring forth and bud. Meaning that you don't see rain fall halfway as I'm going back. As long as it's released, it must touch the ground, it must water it. The seeds that are buried under will produce, it will make it bring forth and bud. Once it is coming, it must do that job before it goes back. That's what the word has been likened to, meaning that the moment the word is spoken to you, the same way rain can be reversed without doing the duty, the word cannot be reversed. Once it is spoken, it must get it done. Once it's spoken. So why are we not getting result? Because the ground is not receiving it. Many don't believe, and I'm going to show you from scriptures. And as a matter of fact, you have more faith and belief in curses than you have faith and belief in God's word. If I stand here now and I look at all of you and I say, One Church, I place you under a shh— ah, I reject it in Jesus' name! I reject in Jesus' name! What kind of pastor is this? You believe he stood on the altar and was cursing us? I reject in Jesus' name! And some would even go into fasting. But if I come here and I say you are blessed, some just say amen like nothing has been said. Why? They believe more in the efficacy of a curse than the blessing. Who legitimizes a curse? The devil. Who establishes the blessing? God. So you believe the devil is actually more active than God. So much so you keep memory of anybody who has ever cursed you, but you forget the blessings because you actually believe one more. It makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to what? The eater. Yes. So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall Listen, the word shall there, just the same way you read John 3:16, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish. That's not a statement. Should not perish is a command. Once, if my daughter say I want to eat, I say, well, don't dare it. We're going to speak in James. Thou shalt not eat it. That's not a mere statement. That's a Father's instruction. It shall accomplish what I please and shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. And we see the practical demonstration of the efficacy of the word throughout scriptures. Practical. That Jesus will meet a man who has been by a pool for 38 years. Practically at least 5 years before Jesus was born. When Herod sent them to be killing the males, the man was by the pool. When people were running and running out of town with their children, he was by the pool. If 5 years before Jesus was born, so he probably even knew Mary as a teenager. And yes, Jesus will come years later and look at a man who has been there before he was born. He didn't say be healed. He didn't say receive healing in your spinal cord. He said pick your bed and go. What does that mean? Pick it and go. There is no Greek and Hebrew. Pick it up. If he could pick it and go, he would have done that 38 years ago. But the word enables him to do what has been said. So you can't look at it and say maybe it's just fluke. If he could do it, he should have done it. 38 years he tried. He couldn't even get into the pool because others had people that will be there. So, pick— listen to what I'm saying, and that's one of the reasons why God cannot lie. Because whatever he says becomes a law. It is impossible for him to lie. Pick your bed and go. The words spoken, they are spirit, they are life-infusing. The word has the capacity to enter into what is dead and straighten it up. If the spirit of him that raised Christ from the dead be in you, that same spirit will quicken— it quickens, it rejuvenates your mortal bodies. The spirit of a man ought to be the candle of the Lord with which he searches the inward part of the belly. That's the place where you, you receive the building of the word. The spirit of a man ought to be able to bear him in the days of infirmity. It is strengthened by the word, not junks. You see junks online and things that makes you feel you can die any moment, and they are killing you. The same way you can eat foods that are prepping you for certain sickness, you can hear information prepping you for death. That you will not even know that you have become more conscious of death and dying, so much so that you don't even believe the word anymore. That many of our gatherings have become mere religious obligations. Because we don't even know that the word changes, the word transforms, the word equips. The word that I sent forth to you will prosper in the things that I please and accomplish the purpose for which I sent it. Meaning that wherever the word of God is, God is there. And once you, you have the word, it is too late. You know, Paul speaking, sending his letter to Timothy, said faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And sometimes you ask questions, but I've seen people that demonstrate faith. And he died. Years back, the common story, known story in Ibadan, there was a man called Prophet Daniel. Well, I don't know, maybe it's the name Daniel that the devil used to inspire him, and he said he was going into the lion's den and he will not be consumed. Well, he was eaten. You don't have the raw material for faith on general words. Let me say it again. The raw material for faith for a specific situation is a specific word. When Jesus was walking on the sea and Peter said, 'If it be you, bid me to come,' the raw material for which Peter walked on the waters was the simple word 'come.' If you come because he told someone else to come, the fellow will walk, you will float, you will drown. So in the kingdom, we don't copy the word said to someone. We wait for our own word. It is on that that we have the raw material for faith. Do you understand? So sometimes I prayed for people. I get a call, say, please pray for my mom, she has cancer. I don't just pray. I spend time checking, asking questions, gist, checking the person's word level. And when I see that all the while there's no foundation here, I advise the person, go for all your treatment. Hey, go for all your treatment. If not, you die. Because you don't prepare in a battle, you prepare for it. So this thing met you, there's no word formed. And there are people here, they are just at the mercy of one punch. They are not standing on anything. There's no word base, nothing, right? No word, no foundation in their heart. They may be hearing teachings, but they are not allowing it enter their spirit. They are not meditating, they are not sitting with it, they are not personalizing it. And sometimes you say, you know what, I don't want to take chemotherapy, I don't want to do this and all that. I say, hey, Faith for healing is not built on your hatred for chemo. That you hate injection is that you hate injection. Is that not faith? So confess, I don't like the needle. They look for what that means, but it requires the needle to hold you. So some make mistakes and confuse their hatred for certain procedures, for of it, and then they die, and then say it's the church. And that's why we have to treat it properly. And some say things like, I don't believe in CS because I'm an Hebrew woman. The Hebrew woman myth is a lie. They have to lie. Do you read your Bible? How do you build faith on a lie? Both the one who did CS and the one who gave birth naturally, God is gracious to them both. All right, and they are both Hebrew women. Ah, are you following me? You receive the word in your spirit. Let me show you a scripture so you can understand what I mean. Look at the book of Psalms, chapter number— Psalms 23. It's a popular scripture. Then we read from verse 1. Look at this. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. That's powerful. If you're going to look at this scripture, it means the character, the role you are to play in this scripture. Please help me Celebrate, Pastor. Thank you. Good to see you, ma. Thank you. Are you ready for this? If you're going to feature in what David said here, it means the character, the role you're playing is the role of a sheep. The Lord is not your shepherd as human, he's your shepherd as a sheep. Get that, get that. It means you have to understand the posture of a sheep, the nature of a sheep, and understand out there in respect to the word. And that's what I want to show you. I'm not saying you should start doing meh. I'm just showing you that there's a reason why the word shepherd was used. He could have said the Lord is my leader, but he said the Lord is my shepherd. Look at verse 2 now, quickly. It makes me to lie down in what? Green pastures. Listen, what you need is green pasture, not new pasture. Green. It can be the same thing you've heard, but fresh. Sometimes you think you need new herbs. No, the same old one, but now entering your spirit. What makes the word new is not the newness of the statement, is where it is coming from. You can hear the same message throughout the year, and every day you hear it, it is new. Because it is fresh. It is green pastures, not new pastures. Is that okay? Now say it again. It is green pastures, not new pastures. It is green pastures, not new pastures. And that's why, listen, a pastor must learn how to treat the same topic with different messages, different titles. The same topic, different titles. Those days when we're growing up, if you don't finish your food, they know how to recycle it. And even you don't eat leftovers, there's a way you eat. So I say, my God, this is so nice. You were the same thing from yesterday. Do you understand that? So let's look at this. If the Lord is my shepherd, he said I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside— all these things are pointing to something. So first and foremost, how sheep— how do they feed? They belong to a class of animals that are called ruminant animals. And unlike other animals, ruminant animals have 4 chambers of stomachs. Are you aware? There are 4 chambers. They have the reticulum, they have the rumen, they have the omasum, they have the abomasum. So they have the— there are 4 chambers. So when the sheep goes to eat, it doesn't benefit them just because they've eaten. The food stores in one chamber, then they go to stay in a still place and they begin to practice what is called chewing the cud, or what you call regurgitation, eh, which is the word that directly translates to meditation. They begin to bring back that thing from a chamber of their stomach. They will now re-chew it, then it will now go to where to benefit their body. When you heard the word, you have not heard it like a sheep. You now have to go sit down beside the still waters and the Holy Ghost begin to brood over it. You begin to bring it back and begin to rechew and begin to rechew. And that's why you can be alone in the room and say, my God, whoo! And they are wondering, are you seeing a movie? No, I'm eating the word. I'm bringing it back to where it will do me good. I'm really feasting. And I tell you, any believer who doesn't know how to meditate is not getting the juice. I shared the story once. I was living in one room, one room, student bed on the floor, just there. You have some pot that you don't even pray that your enemy should use. So one time I was feasting on God's word and just meditating and releasing words about the future. Something pop open in my spirit. I went to meet my landlord. I said, Baba, I want to talk to you. I said, now if you see how much he said his house, don't say I say. So I said, I want to talk to you. I said, a time will come that some people will come to this house and they'll bring cameras to document 'Which room did this man stay?' He said, 'They will ask about me, so when that time comes, allow them.' I was still in that small house, but in my spirit I outgrew it. I became a man you can't pity for living there. I became so big, I knew they will come. Baba looked at me, looked at me, I said, 'Okay, motibo.' All right, so I left. Then he called me back a few weeks later. Very old man in his 80s. The way these old men take their last picture with their family. He said, go call Pastor. He said, go and dress, I want to take my picture now. Come join me. So because what you said then, that those people will come, say when they come they will see the picture here. That you are among my children. So take it. So I went to dress, took the picture, and left. If you go to that house, the picture is seated there in his parlor now. Nobody gave me money. The word just moved from my head to my spirit. You see, the word can be in your head and you think that's it. You can boast and brag with it, but there's no fruit of it in your life. The distance between your head and your spirit is like the distance between heaven and the earth. So meditation is what brings the word from your head to your spirit. Once it enters your spirit, you become one with it. You enter the realm— when we talk about you lambano the word, you have laid hold on it. Nobody can convince you out of it. Let me give you another instance. Who has a bottle of water? Thank you, sir. So if we do some analysis on this water, apart from what they wrote here, maybe we'll get some culture media or medium to check some things, what may grow out of this water. You may be amazed that we can isolate several strains of microbes. Maybe E. coli and all those things from the water. So you believe that what is in the bottle is pure, and we can prove it that it's not pure. I'm— please, I'm not saying this is an example, you know what I'm saying, because I don't want the company coming and say— it's an example. Say so, it's not pure. So the reality of this water as pure water can be debated. We can debate it. Please come back. But if I bring her here and I start arguing that this is a male, not a female, you say, Apostle, what are you talking about? Why? Because she has all the characteristics of a female. I said no, this is not what the lady looks like. This is a boy. You can't talk her out of that. The knowledge of this that you have is scientific knowledge. It can be debated. The knowledge of this is not scientific knowledge. This is the realm of knowledge that is called aiodun, that you become fully persuaded and aware in a way that nobody can talk you out of this. The same way nobody can talk you out of your gender because of the depth of knowledge you have about it, that's the same way nobody should be able to talk you out of the reality of God's word. That is the extent, much more than that, with which it must be rooted in your spirit that nobody can convince you against it, no matter how much they are, no matter their numbers. Even if 10,000 armies gather, they can't talk you out of it. Because you are persuaded, even reality in front of you can't talk you out of it. Do you get it? That I've come to lay hold on this, how can I believe otherwise? That's how you hold the word. Please sit down. Let's give her a big hand. Look at this scripture, 1 John chapter number 1 from verse 1. 1 John chapter number 1 from verse 1. 1 John, look at it. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard— you hear it— which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have what? Handled. Lambano. The words of life, we have handled it. Thank God for medical knowledge, but what you get in medical knowledge is fact. But what you get from the word is the truth. And when the fact contradicts the truth, you hold the truth because the truth will always override fact. Do you understand that? The words of God written concerning you, they are settled. You see, if you understand what I just said, you'll be rejoicing every day that the word is settled. What is written concerning me is settled. What is written concerning me is settled. What is written concerning me is settled. Glory to God! You see, one of the ways you know that the word has moved from your head to your heart is that it produces joy and rejoicing. It cannot move and you don't rejoice. You just think about it. What is written about me is settled. Oh yes, the economy of the nation doesn't determine my experience. The word is settled. Oh yes, blessed be God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed me with all spiritual blessings In heavenly places in Christ, settled. The doctors are saying, well, what we have seen here, it doesn't look like you can be pregnant. The first blessing he commanded is be fruitful and multiply. I know it in my spirit. Femi Lazarus. Sit down. Let me show you, there's a meeting point between psychology and medicine. There are things I do that we can't put online because I don't want to be distracted. So we stay with the word. But one time I was talking to a lady who was raped, and that affected her and affected the marriage. And they couldn't— so I have to speak King James English now— perform their conjugal duties. So I said, he said, they've seen therapists and all that. I said, no, no way. I said, I'll get you through this in 2 weeks. 2 weeks. I said, 2 weeks. Well, we finished it in the first week because I understand there there's a meeting point. And that's why there are issues that are psychosomatic issues. They are telling on your body, but they are coming from your mind. That can be a psychosomatic possibility, because many of you read Psalms 90:10, that the numbers of our years are 3 score and 10. Hope you know Psalm 90 was written by Moses, not David, and it was a cry, a lamentation that they were dying at 70 because there was a curse. How much more untimely death? It was, it was a lamentation, and the one who was lamenting lived till 120. So let me give you an instance. If you're running from here, and that's the finish line. As you approach the finish line, because what's been communicated to your body is that this is the finish line, it is possible for tiredness to be induced. But if at this finish line someone says, get to that end in 3 seconds and pick this $500,000, all the necessary hormones to prep you for a flight will be activated. Meaning that the problem was never your body, it's your mind. What you believe directly impacts even the way your body responds to life. Menopause is the state of the mind. Look at the work God did. Abraham was well stricken. And past the age to even be attracted to the wife. You know what was happening? Abraham and Sarah's story was funny. Look, look at what Sarah said. You know when they say asiriti tu, the secret is out? Because when the angel said, by this time next year you will be with a child, she said, shall my husband, who is already old, have pleasure in me? You know what that means? They stopped having sex. They stopped the process. They've given up. So the first miracle is that you'll be reactivated to get back to work. So, but prior to that time, look at what God did at 75. Okay, then it was above 75. And God said, your name will no longer be called Abram, but Abraham, meaning the father of nations. And your name will no longer be called Sarai, but Sarah, meaning what? Princess. He was addressing the state of their mind, and there was a natural reversal in their bodies, that a woman above 80 will have to start producing eggs. For fertilization to occur, that a king will now see a woman in that state and fall in love with her. What? Who falls in love with an old woman? But the word was working. It was readdressing the condition of their bodies. Wherever the God is. And let me say this to you: the word of God on your lips is as powerful as God talking. Wherever that word is, it begins to produce and perform the purpose for which it is sent. And there was a reversal. The first miracle was that, well, a man above 99, you go back to sleeping with the wife. Second miracle was that she was producing eggs. To be fertilized. Third miracle was that she even carried the pregnancy to term. If Sarai at 90 was carrying pregnancy to term, why should you have miscarriage? Put your hands on your womb. Say, nothing dies in my body. Come on, say it again. Say it again loud and clear. Nothing dies in my body. She carried Isaac to Tam, and guess what? She received strength to deliver Isaac. Not on the strength of any chief surgeon, not on the strength of any specialist, not on the strength of any special— but on the strength of the word. Much more you. Oh boy. Saka tele ba ka tabala tete edemo ungo satila aka. Se ile demo ko sinte grede ishte fa lishte. Even the cells of my body hears the word of the Lord and comply with his dictates.
