A speaker argues you must choose between following the crowd for quick success or resisting it to become a real blessing to your generation. Going against the grain slows your growth but aligns with genuine purpose, while chasing applause by giving people what they want instead of what they need ultimately destroys.
Chapters
As you progress, you're going to get to the point where you're going to have to make a choice whether to allow the crowd engineer you or you just run against the wind. And if you're going to go against the norm, you will not have the metrics of growth so fast like those who have bowed to systems. In fact, I found out that bulk of the things people applaud you for are things that will destroy them. The moment you allow the crowd engineer you in return, at some point you will have to make up your mind. Do you want to be a blessing to a generation, or you want to make it. If you want to make it, you make it off the foolishness of the people. You give them what they want. But if you truly want to help a generation, give them what they need, even if it means that they walk away from you. Many times it takes people time to know what they need, but those that will get there will get there.
