Some people believe that if you are going for IVF and you have to choose the gender that you want, that that means you are playing God. I would say no, because if IVF were an automatic pregnancy, then that becomes— IVF, no matter how excellent the centre is anywhere in the world, IVF does not guarantee pregnancy. True. So where is the God playing there? You can choose the embryo gender that you want to put, but you cannot guarantee that it will become— that there will be pregnancy, you know. And science will also tell you that even if when we're doing gender selection with the most precise technology, you know, it will still give you error. Yeah, yeah, margin of error, you know, that look, oh, 'Who have selected this is a girl, but it likely might just come out to be a boy.' And we have had a lot of cases, I mean, coming up that way. Just that if the people that are coming forward for this are well educated and well counseled, they know and they'll take whatever comes in good faith.
You know, another thing that jumps my heart right now to my mind is the fact that we seem to be having more cases of miscarriages than ever. And these are subjects that really bothers lots of families, um, that many can talk about publicly. And what— can we, can we just dive quickly into this?
Yeah, yeah, because it's part of a challenge in infertility too. Yes, the aim of conceiving is to have a live birth, not to, to have a miscarriage. Miscarriage is also rampant. And because there are things that could predispose to miscarriage, I mean, uh, atypical infection, even hormonal deficiencies can be associated with the miscarriage. But the commonest cause of miscarriage among the causes that are known, particularly in the first trimester of pregnancy, that's the first 3 months, is genetic abnormality.
