FIRST LOVE 4

Jesus, we bless your holy name and we thank you because your word will be spoken to us in a very unique way this morning. In Jesus' mighty name, amen. All right, ideally I wanted to do something I— okay, is there anyone here? I just need, um, 7 who at some point in your life you had a vision and you saw yourself preaching the gospel. And maybe now, because I mean almost everyone must have at some point, but you are in the situation now that you don't even know how that is ever going to be possible. If you are not even a worker, so you don't— I mean, how is that going to be possible? Is anyone like that here? You've seen yourself preaching, please stand. I want to see you quickly. Okay, just a moment. Those of you standing, in just one minute, can you come? What I didn't tell you is that you will not be going back to your seats till I'm done. You have met— you have plenty, more than I thought. I want the ushers to bring their chairs. I'm not joking. Go and carry your jotter and come back. So we've been dealing with that series, First Love. Turn your Bibles there again, Revelation chapter number 2. Very interesting scripture, and we're going to read from verse 1. Now, how many of you have been trying to read this scripture at home? Maybe you've listened to these teachings again and again, right?

Good, thank you. Now look at this: Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus, Write. This thing says he that holds the 7 stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the 7 golden candlesticks. I know thy works and thy labor and thy patience, and how thou cannot bear them that are evil, which are evil. And thou hast tried them which said they are apostles and are not, and has found them liars, and has borne and hast patience And for my name's sake has labored and has not fainted. Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy—

what?

First love. We've been talking about this, you know, in context. When Jesus said to them that you have left your first love, he's simply saying you have left me. You get the context? Yes, he is your first love. That's, that's the context. But he also identified something which is very important. Look at verse 5 now. Say, remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do thy first works. So it means that your first works has a lot to do with the I don't want to use a word that can be substantiated— with the presence of your first love. Now, he referred to what they left as a work, and that's very interesting. He said they left not just the first love But now they have stopped doing the first work, and that's what I want to show you. Are you ready? You know why I called you out? There's going to be a rub-off today. Is that okay? And the Spirit of God is going to begin to move you into activities. I didn't hear amen to that. And into places to do things you will not believe that you could do, like healing the sick, raising the dead, opening blind eyes, walking of miracles. Are you ready? So he said, go back and do— say it again— go back and do your first works. So it means the work won't do itself. If you're going to see yourself working much more of God's power, much more of God's presence, much more of God's glory, then you must do something. I'm going to show you what that means. Look at Bible says about Jesus. Pay attention to this scripture, Acts 10:38. Acts of the Apostles, chapter number 10, verse 30. Those of you in front, read it together with me. 1, 2, 3, go! Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost, who went about— hold on a minute— who went about what?

Say it again.

Doing good. Who went about what? Who went about what? He went about what? There is something about the move of God in your life that will be evident only when you start doing. Um, okay, I'm going to show you one more scripture. Look at Luke chapter number 10. Luke 10. Let's start the reading from verse 1. Luke 10 from verse 1. After these things, the Lord appointed 70 also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, the harvest is truly great But the laborers are what?

Few.

So who are the laborers? They are those who are working. So when Jesus said, go back and do your first work, what is he saying? He's saying go back to the field of the harvest. What is he saying? Go back to the field of what? The harvest. Where's the field of the harvest? Go back to soul winning. I'm going to show you something. There's a scripture you used to read, but you need to understand the context of that scripture. Look at Acts chapter number 1, verse 8. Acts 1:8. Now this was— it starts with 'but' because Peter had asked the wrong question. And he had answered him, said, but ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, aha, and in all Judea, aha, and in Samaria, aha, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. What are you receiving the power to do? Witnessing. Let me share a story with you. So as Jesus sent them two by two, this week I'm going to send you also two by two. And for many of you, this is going to be the beginning of strange miracles through your lives. Let me tell you something. The first time the power of God moved through me, I didn't believe it. I was preaching. I was preaching. Um, was I even in secondary school? I think secondary school. I was preaching. Me, I, DJ Song. As I was preaching Some people were seated in front and started shaking. I closed my Bible. No be me una go deceive. Just stood up and left. I didn't just leave the altar, I left the meeting.

Why?

Because I thought the power of God was until I was perfect. I had concluded that those walking in power fell from heaven. So I said, ah, no, no, no. And, and I never walked in power again until many years after. Not because God left, but because I left. And the moment I understood forgiveness, the moment I understood redemption, and I went back to God, I saw he's been waiting. So he said the harvest is what? Plenteous. Plenty harvest. Some of the darkness that we see in the world should not intimidate you. That's your work. Oh, why is it that nowadays everybody just want to insult pastors and all that? Well, when it's dark, it reveals the beauty of light. Light will not be needed unless there's darkness. This is the darkest part of church history, really. We can talk about the Dark Ages when the disciples and the professing Christians were being killed, but we measuring darkness in respect to systems It's never been this dark. Okay, so there is no one anointing in the past that can solve this problem. None. At best, it has solved the problem of its time. You need fresh anointing, you need fresh baptism. And I'm saying this, and I'm speaking to you all life. Many of you are going to work wonders. You work miracles. And who told you that working of miracles is limited to men? It's not a gender thing. I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Why is it that you see more men on the field? Because they are the ones who dare to go. Culture limits women. Don't let that happen to you in church. Oh, that if I start working in power as a woman, men will be intimidated, nobody will marry me. Well, a weak man will not, but a right man will. Praise God. Say it again, church. We have been given power.

Say it over there. We've been given power to go into all the worlds. And win souls and heal the sick and raise the dead and cleanse the lepers. Say it again: we have been empowered. Say it again: I have been empowered. Say it again: I have been empowered. You know what that means?

It means there's light in your transformer. Start plugging things. You know, the Bible says that the fervent and effectual prayer of the righteous man makes tremendous power available. Power is available, but you won't see it if you don't do. So when he says go back to your first work, what he's saying is go back to the field of the harvest. That's the duty of the church. Now I'm going to give you instances to that. One of the signs that the love of Christ is perfected in your heart is that you have passion for souls. You have burden. If someone around you who is not saved, you are, you are in pain, you are in tears. You want to see all men saved and come to knowledge of the truth of God's word. How many of you see yourself crying because you were interceding for a soul? I'm just crying, Lord, will you save him? Save him. And I tell you something, whenever you are raising petition over someone who needs salvation, God sends angels to orchestrate it, to find ways to bring situations that will bring them back to Christ. I shared this story with you. I had a boy who one time started getting confused, and it happens to all of us. He had questions no one was answering, and one of his questions was, well, if this Christianity is not a scam, why do we have so many churches? This one said they are this church, now I say they are that church, and say they are that church. And the devil stood by him and was polluting his mind, and he said, you know what, I'm done. And he walked away from there, and he went to meet some afas on campus. And they took him from Ile-Ife to Ilorin, and they gave him some things and said he should eat, that the day he ever tries to leave that religion and come back to Christianity, he dies. So when I started sending people to get him, to talk to him, He said it was too late, that they already served him something and all that, say it's not coming back. So I decided I will not put food into this mouth till God convict him. I said, all right, all right, the rest of you start praying, leave me alone with this matter. I think I fasted how many days? Then he had a vision, and in the vision it was more like God was saying, you better go call your pastor now. And I sent him. So he by himself now was reaching out that, sir, we can talk. You see that? So I called him, laid hands on him, vomited stuff, rededicated his life to Christ, and now he's back in Christ, standing strong, firmly. When you Do you know what a soul means to God? You won't know yet till you have thought about what could have made Jesus go to the cross. If one soul is not important, he would not have died. I mean, he was stripped naked. I was praying to God, praying in my office. Recently, and the Lord said to me, he said, in past months and weeks you have felt the anguish of my cross and of my pain. I said, yes, Lord. He said, but you have not felt the anguish of my thorns. I said, Lord, Even the burden that rested was like, I will die. When you meet Jesus, his burden becomes your burden, his passion. And I can tell you, there is only one passion, one burden in heaven right now, is that all men should be saved. That's the burden right now. All men should be what? And I love what Pastor here said, Daddy G, he said anyone that can feel pains must be given the opportunity to escape hell. Hell is real. I know that's not the gospel, but it is also not a lie. And we must not forget that they sow— all who have stood to say Christianity is a lie, who derive their essence by mocking Christianity, and they say, give your life to Christ.

Say, no, you guys get out, you don't know what's happening.

One day, so they will be left with no other faith. And the Bible said when that day comes, those who have turned many to righteousness will shine as stars of heaven. We will shine as stars.

We will see Jesus and rejoice at his coming.

The idea of the coming of Jesus scares some people to their death because they are not prepared. They've not been doing what he asked them to do. He wants to empower you. And you know what you need to understand? This power is not for special apostles, is not for some special prophets or some special men of God.

Anyone.

He said, I will pour out my spirit upon how many people?

All flesh.

All flesh. Sometimes you will not even know God has called you till you start. Just go out. At least there's a calling that is common to everybody. Go ye into all nations. That's the calling, the Great Commission. Go and disciple all nations. Go and win souls.

We all have been called to that.

So the proof that that love is intact is that you want to see men saved. Do you still evangelize? Look at what happened. Let me show you this scripture. Pay attention to this. Acts of the Apostles, chapter number 2. Look at this. Now, this was the day of Pentecost when they were baptized in the Holy Ghost. And then they began to query them. After every revival, there's always going to be an attempt to bring strife. They start querying them. Ah, look at you guys, you must be drunk. Then Peter spoke and said, well, we're not drunk, all right? So we are not drunk. And he began to show them what Joel had said. But look at this, in that same Acts 2, verse 38 says Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children and all that are far off, even as many as the Lord God shall call.

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves.

This out unto all generations. And they that gladly received his word were baptized, and that day were added unto them 3,000 souls.

The reason why they've received the Holy Ghost—

listen, the day the Holy Ghost came, one of the major events was that souls were added. The purpose of the Holy Ghost on your inside is for evangelism, apart from helping you as your parakletos to to help you, to journey with you, to help you as one who reveals truth, who helps you reveal Jesus. He's also there to empower you to win soul. And guess what? You cannot win souls effectively without power. Something changes when you stand in front of someone and say, you know, Jesus loves you and all that. And as you're talking, there is a revelation of the person's life. And many of you should have been working in that But you are not working in that because you doubt. I'm going to give you an instance. As I'm teaching you now, pay attention to the Holy Spirit. He will begin to bring words to your spirit. There's somebody here, you are going through this. Write it down. When I'm done teaching, those of you that God has given word to You come out and it will amaze you that just like that, every day God could have been giving you words for people, but you are sleeping with it. Sometimes somebody is in front of you sick and you are angry that you've laid hands on the sick and the sick were not healed because you think it is every sickness that needs healing. That's not true. Some sickness don't need healing, they need casting out of devils because the devil is behind it. If you say be healed where a devil should be cast out, you won't see result. So you begin to train your spirit for the work of what?

Evangelism.

I shared the story with you. I went to a village and They said to me in that village, um, this our Bali— that's what they call, that's like the, the chief in charge of that village. And we had a good conversation after we've eaten. They gave me something that looks like lizard. That village is in my wife's state. God, they had to reward me. By giving me somebody from that state, because I suffered. Like Paul, I did my early evangelism, in fact, around, uh, yes, her place. You know, when I met my wife, when she said she lived, I just felt my angel just did— pay attention. Now the man said, there's a man here, Pastor, just pray for him, he's been sick. He said, we'll be very glad if God could heal him. So I said, let's go, let's go there.

Follow me.

We went to that place. A boy was given to me. Come. And the boy had a stick in his hand. So the boy followed me. And was in front. As he got close to the house, he stood and said, "Oh no, that is— that's the place." All right, so I said, "Let's go." He said, "Mm, that's the place." So I entered that place. Oh my God, the smell was bad. Nobody should live there. And when I entered, I was looking for the man, and I saw a figure on the bed as dry as skeleton. You could count his ribs, and the man was trying to cough and was having the whooping cough. And you see how his ribs will expand for him to cough, and every time he coughs, looks like life was leaving. And I was calculating in my head, um, this is tuberculosis, is airborne. I have to I have to hold my breath now. Then the Lord said to me, he said, go pick him up. I said, what? He said, son, go pick him up. So I went there. Are you in drama department? I mean, we are winning souls together. Lie down, let's do an experiment. And I went there. And I looked at the man that had no frame. Well, this guy is— the man was not like this, so I could carry him. And I picked him up. Come. And I was able to carry him, carried him up, and I held the man, and I was the one carrying him. You understand what I'm saying?

He couldn't stand.

And we're praying, just praying for him that, Lord, you will heal him. Nothing happened till I started crying. One of the things that makes you move in healing is compassion. I got to a point where it was not about me looking like a big man, but this man being set free from this affliction. And as I was crying and speaking in tongues, and at some point I noticed the man was standing on his leg even as I was holding him. And later I saw he could take some steps with me even as I was holding him, and he could move and take some steps. So I moved from holding him to hold in his hands. And now we're in that smelly, dark room together, taking some baby steps in that room, taking some baby steps. And later I could see like this man is invigorated, and he was walking as I was walking, and he was just saying, 'Joseph, Joseph, Joseph.' By the time I held his hands and we both came out of that place, we didn't know the entire village had gathered. The moment we stepped out, they broke out in tears. I watched the leader of that village lay face flat on the ground. We didn't have to preach much. They were ready to accept Jesus. The purpose of power is for souls. Say it again: from today I walk in power.

Say it one more time. Say it one more time. Femi Lazarus, I'm a candidate of power. I preach the gospel with power. I heal the sick with power. I raise the dead with power. There are so many questions, and the church must not try to shy away now.

Don't be quick to look at the agitations online and say because they hate us. Some of the questions are genuine. Let me show you a story in Acts chapter number 3. Look at the story in Acts 3. Peter and John went up into the temple, temple, at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man, lame from his mother's womb, was carried— where did they lay the man?— daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask of them to ask alms of them that entered the temple. Yes, who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. Peter fastening his eyes upon him with John said, look on us. And he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something of them. And Peter said, silver and gold have I none, but such as I have Give I thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Rise up and walk. And it took him. He didn't stop there. Now this is the anointing plus something many of you don't have, and that's the reason why you don't see miracles. When you pray for someone and you are not seeing the result, there is something called the spirit of faith. When he took him by the hand, that's not anointing, that's the spirit of special faith. I would have wanted the media to show you a meeting we had in Ile-Ife of a young boy who came to that meeting on wheelchair with legs as bent and twisted as something I don't understand. And sometimes you tell people, get off from wheelchair, and it doesn't look like anything is happening. And that's where the gift of faith steps in. It took him by the hand and lifted him up. It was until then, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. You know why we don't see many of these miracles like before again? Because you have meditated on things that shows you the opposite than the reality. If you are going to walk in power, you need focus.

You need to set your face like a flint.

Please sit down and position yourself to see only what you need to see in your life.

Shut down the noise. Shut down any argument against the miraculous.

You know, one of the things I like about this— look at this. He received bones and received strength. Look at verse 8, said, and he leaping up stood up and walked and entered the temple and walking and leaping. Now the people began to want to question Peter, all right? They wanted to say this, this, this, and all that. But the Bible said this is a notable miracle so notable that they could not deny. The miracle, the healing of this man at the gate called Beautiful was notable. The healing of blind Bartimaeus was notable. The healing of the man by the pool of Bethesda was notable. The question around the miraculous is not about the solidity of the miraculous. It's about the fact that we are no longer seeing notable miracles. That is, people that everyone know was crippled now walk. And God is going to do that in our days again. Oh, I didn't hear amen loud and clear. People that everyone know were blind And now they start seeing. Look at what it does. It tells people that there is a God who sit in heaven. It tells people. So don't ever talk down the miraculous, and don't stay where anybody is talking it down. You want to see yourself walk in it, you need focus, you need concentration, you need to spend time in the Holy Ghost, meditating, meditating, meditating, seeing the possibility, seeing it happen, not just in the Bible but through your life.

You begin to have what is called scenario planning, where you start seeing yourself.

Draw somebody up. Every time you see somebody who is sick and walk past the person, you ought to feel guilty. That's a sign that you have started taking responsibility. Are you here with me? Look at that Bible, that Bible verse we read the other time, Acts 10:38. Acts 10:38. You're going to put your name there. Are you ready? First question: what is your name? What is your name? You are not even calling that name with power. What's your name? Do you know that name will ring through human history? Again, what is your name? Now let's read this scripture, put our names there. Are you ready?

O God anointed— what's your name? What is your name? O God anointed with the Holy Ghost. And with power. Hold on a minute, take the who as a question.

So who is going about now?

Look at it again. Who is going about now? Now look at this. How God anointed Femi Lazarus with the Holy Ghost and power, then I go about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. For God is with me. God has anointed me. Say it again loud and clear. Say it again loud and clear. Say it again loud and clear. With what? With what? With what? With what? With the Holy Ghost. And what?

Power!

Oh, glory to God!

So I'm powerful. God has anointed me. He has anointed me for my friends, for my family members, for my loved ones, for my bosses at work.

Everywhere I step to, oh, I walk with the consciousness of the anointing. That's one of the things that is happening. We are no longer conscious of power. You can't dispense what you don't know you have.

Sometimes people come to me and say, you know what, um, can you please pray? I look at them. By being this close in a conversation already, something has dropped. Oh, we're going to see miracles again. We are going to see signs and wonders again. We're going to see healings again.

We're going to have testimonies again.

Get ready. God is raising people that will turn the world upside down. Can we read this scripture meditatively again? Oh, glory to God!

Are you ready?

Now we're talking about the first works. Listen, listen, and I want to tell you this. Now, I told you my focus Not just in this season, but going forward, is Light Nation, and of course by extension the body of Christ. We are going to be seeing strange testimonies through people who feel they are ordinary. Is there anyone here who came here with notable sicknesses? Something you know is there, step forward quickly. Notable sicknesses, something— don't worry, let them just come. Sister, let— yeah, come. Notable, come. Now I need like 10 of you here who have been waiting for this opportunity to lay hands on the sick. Just stand here. File here. Those of you come file. You lay hands on these people and you will command that the sicknesses will get out. Then you will also command that any spirit behind the affliction will lose his grip. Are you ready?

There's somebody with stomach that is getting hot, always hot. Command it out. Once you can confirm your healing, come. Make sure as you pray for them, ask questions, ask questions. Allow them check, allow them check.

Oh, thank you, Lord Jesus. Start taking testimonies.

I was even given high blood pressure drugs 2 months ago.

You were given high blood pressure drugs?

Yes, that I should take it all the time. If it was even part of the reason why I came out last week Sunday when Apostle Femi Lazarus said there's a young lady that is scared that she's going to die and leave her kids, because something I've been struggling with my doctors and all.

Yeah.

Wow. And now completely gone.

Is that how we rejoice?

Oh, thank you, Lord Jesus! That headache will never return. It is permanent. More healings are still taking place. Thank you, Lord Jesus! Let's have more testimony. See, what's, what's our testimony? Yeah, let's hear from him.

Apostle, he has back pains, which was— hands were laid on him today and it's gone. Then there's also a teeth issue, and this morning it's no longer there anymore.

What was the nature of the teeth issue? Yes, it's like genetic. If I make the sound, I feel blood coming out to my mouth, but now I cannot feel it anymore, sir. Nothing anymore, sir. Perfected your healing. Let's rejoice and give God praise.

She was recently diagnosed with a medical condition. Although she needs to run a test to confirm it, she said prior to this time she has been having worries. Her heart has been palpitating, but after hands were laid, she was prayed for, she feels peace, and she's going to run a test to come back to share testimony. And she believes—

what was it like? Before this moment?

Um, it's actually something that, um, it's a bit personal, but I refuse to accept it. I cannot accept it. So I'm going to go and run a test, and I'm going to come back and I'll share my testimony.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. Now the healing is perfected. You are whole, made whole, spirit, soul, and body. Nothing missing, nothing broken. Let's give Jesus praise.

Apostle, he came with ulcer. He was having stomach pains, very serious heartburns, and he could not even bend to touch his stool. Wow, this morning, but after hands were laid on him, it's gone.

What was the pain like? It felt, it felt like I was done because I've been feeling this thing since I was a child. It has been there for a very, very, very long time. And as hands were laid on you, it's gone. Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord Jesus!

Apostle, another amazing testimony. After the birth of our son, she has been having excruciating back pain. She says she came here even with the pain, but once hands were laid on her, the pain has gone.

That's for how many months or years now?

Since 2020.

Since what?

2020.

2020? Yes, ma'am. You've been carrying the back pain?

Yes.

Lower back pain, and now it's gone.

Oh wow!

Come, it's perfected in the name of Jesus. Is that the way we rejoice this morning?

Apostle, for as long as she can remember, she's been having consistent headache. Sometimes it disappears for seconds and comes back, but today hands were laid on her and it disappear totally.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. What's your name?

Victoria. And the headache is gone, it's never returning. Thank you, Lord. There's a case that has to do with menstrual flow that God has attended to this morning. I don't know who that person is. Yes, the last time I saw my message was November last year. And it was a medical condition, I felt down. I was like, what is happening to me?

Why?

I'm a lady, why can't I see it? So I believe after today I will see it.

Not just after today, before you leave church.

It started when I was 15, then I was SS1. So it started like I was having this kind of heavy stomach pain that I was like, it was very— it was too much. Glory! Actually, when I was praying with the minister She had my hand, so I wanted to test. So I started speaking in tongues, and I was speaking very loud. Immediately, I just felt this coldness, and I could not hear. So I kept quiet for a while. She's here, she can testify. I had to keep quiet for a while so that I will hear the heartbeat, but I didn't know.

But on my way here, I had a sickle cell crisis on the plane. Are you serious? Yes. So I took my pills because I have to do my work, but I also carry my Bible and I start praying and praying and praying and praying and praying. It was just a connection flight from United States to Istanbul and then Istanbul to Abuja. This was just all on the first flight. And then I pray, I came with my friend, we prayed the entire flight, we pray during the connection flight. And then when the time that we got to the second flight, I was totally free of pain. And then I came to, I went to the conference instead of talking about my association, I spoke the work that God has done for me. So my main purpose to be here in Abuja is not go to the conference, is to make sure that I am healed, and I am healed in the name of Jesus.

You know, the Lord told me, he said when addressing sickle cell cases, I should not focus on saying that the genotype should change. But rather, I should always command that there will be no more crisis. So I command today, peace be still. No more affliction. Every affliction leaves this body now, in Jesus' name.
