Get ready for another session of The Public School with Femi Lazarus.

Femi Lazarus on how your social class determines what you know and what you can imagine. The information available to you shapes your dreams, your survival strategies, and the opportunities you can even see. A yam stays a yam because it only knows yams.
Chapters
Coppers are not needed in the system that is Nigeria. How much were you given during NYSC? You are told how to survive, o. And when you come out, if you get more than this, you are lucky. You have to understand that the information available at the lowest class has formed a mindset And never you think that they will perceive anything coming from a higher strata as important. And this adage is for you. They will say that once your yam is sprouted, you cover it to eat it. Can you cover refinery to eat? It's because the biggest yam you have is visa. Everyone has learned to survive through the information at their disposal. I've learned to live life through information at their disposal. I've learned to value what's at their disposal. And because each strata contains its own examples, contains its own motivations, it's a— you must understand that your strata is a balanced ecosystem. You believe that they said the world is free for you to dream. It's not free. You cannot dream beyond your strata. You can't dream beyond your examples. You can't dream beyond your exposures. You can't imagine what you have not seen. So if your imagination is limited by your examples, it means your pursuit is limited also by your examples. When you get to do things that is not available in your strata, you convulse because the information has not prepared you. Again, this conversation is for what? Entertainment purpose. We are just playing.
