Femi Lazarus argues that true healing starts with fixing broken families. He traces addiction, crime, and violence to absent fathers and dysfunctional homes, urging men to step into spiritual leadership and sacrifice. Without restored families, he says, society cannot heal.
Chapters
Luke chapter number 4, verse 18. Now this was Jesus picking scriptures to read after the experience of the temptation. So this is the next statement of Jesus after what we studied about bread and stones. So he pick scriptures to read. The Bible said from verse 17 that there was delivered unto him the book of prophet Esaias. That's another way to write Isaiah. And And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set them— that— to set at liberty them that are what? Bruised. Now, verse 19 says, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. In other words, that's the year of Jubilee. That's the year that slaves are set free and any form of bondage is loosed. Now, I showed you the last time when we started this series that same Luke 4:18 in Amplified rendition, and I want us to pay attention to that. One of the disciplines we must have is the discipline of comparing scriptures with scriptures. Luke 4:18: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me, the Anointed One, the Messiah, to preach the good news, the gospel, to the poor. He has sent me to announce the release of captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered. Say it: to send forth as delivered. Them that are bruised. All right, ah, sorry, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed, that is those who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by what? Calamity. So calamity here doesn't necessarily mean, um, in the context we put it, there are many things that will fit rightly into that word., and there are people whose spirit is broken.
There is a message in the gospel that attends to that.
One of the confusions of the Pentecostal church is the assumption that because a dimension of teaching does not beat people down and make them feel bad and make them weep and make them feel like, oh, I have to do so much, 'For God to accept me.' Then if you are not preaching like that, then you must be a motivational speaker. And sometimes I wonder that if Jesus were to be in this generation, who met the woman at the well of Samaria who had obvious issues and didn't leave her condemned, he would have been called a motivational speaker. Or when he met the woman that was caught in the very act of adultery, and now they were going to stone her to death. You see, religion stinks and it kills. And Jesus told the religious folks, if there's anyone here who is without sin, let him be the first to cast the stone. And one by one they dropped their stones, and the woman looked unto Jesus. According to Hebrews 4:15, for we have not an high priest who cannot be touched, with the feelings of our infirmity, seeing that he was in all points tempted like we are, and yet without sin. The only one qualified to stone her was the high priest, and he said to her, I condemn you neither. So I want us to understand that this series might be deeper than deliverance where you say fall down by fire, because sometimes When some of us stand here and teach, the assumption is that there is no power. So maybe when you come to church on Sunday and you've rolled on the floor, then there is power. What is power? Power is not the ability for people to fall. It is that which provokes change. That's power. Are you there? So we have been looking at the subject Gilead. And it's a way to tweak a word, Gilead and healing. And we've been dealing with root cause of issues. I showed you, I am Psalms chapter number 11 from verse 2. The Bible says, for lo, the wicked bend their bows from the arrows that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. And in verse 3, if the foundations be destroyed, can the righteous do? I showed you all that the devil wants to weaken everyone's life by attacking them from the foundation. And many of the challenges many people are dealing with in their adult stage began from the moment that they were young. The family that ought to be a hub of incubation has become the primary source of attack on many lives. So one thing the devil has mastered and learned to do well is to make sure that the family system is compromised. And if you have a compromised family system, you are going to have compromised products from the family system. If you have a dysfunctional family system, you will have dysfunctional children from the families.
If you have dysfunctional children coming from the families, then you will have a broken society coming from those families. The family is the smallest unit of the society.
When we gather in church, we are first and foremost from families. When we gather in schools, We are coming from families.
And when you teach in schools, then you will understand the power and the impact of families on kids. You will see children whose esteem have been broken down and damaged because of the kind of home they are coming from. You will see the reflection of the decisions of the parent on the kids. And many times these decisions affect the children that even when they grow into adulthood, they are still trapped in their childhood state.
The Bible says, train up your child in the way it should grow, and when he goes, he will not depart from it.
So there is something about upbringing that forms a cast. It is like a cast that when you melt wax and pour it into a cast, it takes the shape of the cast. So the idea of family is not that you marry someone who twinkle— or who tickles your fancy. It is that you are coming together to be a cast for the next generation. You cannot get a leaking cast because you feel time is gone. You cannot settle with someone who doesn't share your values because you feel time is gone. You will be more than lovers.
You become an environment for the next generation. Are you following what I'm saying here?
So the idea of starting a family is something that must be well thought about. Are you ready for the commitment of being a husband? Are you ready for the commitment of being a wife? Have you been taught what that means to be both? What it means to be a husband and what it means to be a wife? Have you seen in scriptures? Because you don't prepare in a battle, you prepare for it. Have you learned what it means to be a father? Have you learned what it means to be a mother? These are very important foundational trainings because, listen, you may mourn your past and create what is worse than it. And I'm saying this again, and I believe I'm speaking in my prophetic office, that the next generation of fathers may be more of a disaster than those they hated.
Because we keep having a generation of people who don't want to bow to responsibilities.
The major fulcrum of being parent is sacrifice, that there are decisions you ought to make, but when you think about children who will face the consequence of your decision, you hold back and put yourself under. Any man who makes decisions in his home without thinking about his kid is a bad father.
From the moment you say I do, you are no longer living for yourself. Never say I do to someone that you can't take a bullet for. That's, that's the, that's the idea of being a father or being a husband. He's a protector. Okay, now men, you are quiet. You know, part of the accusations I've received online is that I, I always focus on the men, I attack them, and then I make women feel good. I've come to attack men much more. You know why? That's the foundation. Everything rise and falls on leadership. Everything, everything.
You can't be a man who is dragging space with a woman. You talk to me, talk to her too.
That's not a man.
Unfortunately, not many homes have men who model to the boys how to be men. It is not age that makes a boy change to be a man.
It is development, growth.
You man up on the inside. It is not your age that changed you from being a boy to being a man. You might be 60 and you are still a boy.
And you might be 20 and be a man. Are you following what I'm saying here?
It is not passage of time that makes a boy become a man.
You are trained to become, you are taught to become, you are taught responsibility. You can't be crying up and down and say— I know real men are emotional, you should cry. I'm saying cry where you have to.
Look at what my wife do. There was a man that had an attack.
He woke up from his room and was crying, Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. Noah was calling the wife. That's the covering. Why should you go out in the storm and when it is raining and carry an umbrella that is bad? You should not say I do to a man who can't cover you. That's the reason why we have problems. Many have married fine boys who are licking umbrellas.
They can't cover. The guy won't pray. He won't even pray for himself. He can't pray for his family. He doesn't know what the enemy is planning. He has no word about the children. He knows nothing. He's blank. And he complains, I'm the man in this house. Well, if you have to announce it, you are not. Anytime you have to announce who you are, you are not.
It should be obvious that you are by the decisions that you make. Are you still with me or you are tired? All right, we've got to have men who teach the boys how to become men. It is not passage of time that makes you one. You must be ready for commitment. You must become a priest. Are you there? Let me show you scriptures. Genesis chapter number 2. Genesis chapter number 2. If you are there, say amen. Now look at this. Let's start the reading from verse 7. And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. And man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed. Out of the ground, out of the ground the Lord made to grow every tree that is pleasant to sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst, in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. All right, permit me to jump a bit. Now look at it, verse 16. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree in the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it. For the day that thou shalt eat, thou shalt surely die. And the Lord said, it is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him an helpmeet. All right, then the Lord formed out of every— from the ground different creatures and all that. God did not say it is not good for man to be alone. It is not good for the man, the man who is in his presence, the man who has found his assignment. The man who is doing it, the man who has received instruction. Such a man needs help. You can't invite someone to join you in a vehicle going to nowhere. And that's why I tell people, if you don't know your purpose, don't propose. Don't, don't, don't. If you don't know where you are going, why bring someone to join you on a journey of confusion? Let's go, we'll find out where we go. Haha, I know where we are going, and I see that you are the one qualified to help me get there.
It is your purpose that chooses for you.
It is your purpose that shows you the kind of woman that you need, not the size of her breast.
Purpose.
Not like, I like big things. Purpose. Let's say it as it is, right?
You know, in church we package.
So why do you like the sister?
Hey, you know, she's just full of the Holy Ghost. Now lie. If the sister no get all those things, this same you will walk away.
They say, you know, this is not just about purpose, man. No, it won't chop. From the moment you know where you are going, you know those you can't move with. From the moment it becomes clear. It becomes clear. It becomes clear. Not, um, let me, let me throw my net out and ask 6 sisters out. The first to give me a yes, that's a fool.
And, and the sister too doesn't know that she's part of many fishes that they are throwing bait at.
And just say, oh. I'm sorry, I'm going to dwell a lot on masculinity today. I said something very painful last week, that now you see many girls online, they do interview. Tell us the bad things you have done. What's your fantasy? Where's the worst place you've done it?
I've done it.
They say it with their full chest because they know that because of the size of breast that they have and bum bum— no, let's say it as it is— a man that that is his pursuit will put them in the house.
There's scarcity of men.
We have more boys. The scarcity of men. If we want to repair our society, let's raise the men. The scarcity of men.
Boys pursue bum bum.
Men pursue values.
They ask a girl during interview, what do you bring to the table? Say, me, I'm a spec.
I bring my full self.
Who are you? With one surgery, they remove the two breasts. What do you have more?
I've not started.
And people go to the hospital and they pump silicone in their bum bum. They can't fly. They sit on the plane with half bum bum. They You see, because now this is the criteria to attract fools. A real man wants to know what do you bring to the table, what's your qualification, how can you raise my children, can they be like you. That's how a man thinks.
Are you there? Anything you say, I agree. That's how a man thinks. You have no business marrying anyone whose mindset you don't want your children to have. If this guy is my son, will I like him? That's what you look at. That's what you look at. That's what you look at.
When people start thinking rightly, everybody will adjust.
A girl will not wear skimpy clothes and open the laps and say, na, so they go take see me. They do that because they know that's what you are looking for. Are you still there?
Real men are taught, they are trained, they are raised.
It is not every man that should not be alone. There are men that should be alone. And there are women that should be alone. There are girls you marry, you are finished. You are finished. This girl can't think.
Anything you say, our daddy, that is how it should be.
You can't communicate on level of Mutual intelligence bankrupt of smartness, but she carry front, she carry back, and you like her like that.
Children, primary school children, she can't help with the assignment because she no know. We are making a plan to move the business from Africa and then enter into Asia. Okay. Man, wake up! Tell the man beside you, wake up! When you start demanding for more, people will wake up.
Are you still there?
Are you still there? Tell the man beside you, wake up! Don't be a wimp, don't be a boy, don't be a child. Be a man, man up! That's how men are raised.
Now listen, listen, listen, listen now. Sometimes you see boys, boys, boys. Now boys are interested in being girls. One time they reported a boy to me and said this boy is doing this and that. So I called him, I said, boy, come here.
He came.
I said, where's your dad? He said, eh, the dad left when he was growing up. So I'm here now. Go there. He went. I said, walk towards me. I said, stop, stop.
Now chest out, straighten yourself. Now walk like a man and come. Ah! Someone should have straightened the posture while you were growing and tell you, you are a boy, you are not a girl.
Straighten up, my friend. One time somebody was showing me the male Bible study secretary they handed over to on campus. He's a full-grown girl now. With breasts. The one we handed over to now wear bomb shorts and heels. Boy, one time I finished service here, people went to drag me online. Who came to this church and said the apostle is speaking against boys who are sleeping with boys, is hateful.
Really?
I'm here to teach you how to be a man. I'm here to help you. I'm not here to cut you down or to hate you. If you're a boy that when you see boys you have erection, it's something is wrong. And that thing began because there was no real man around to let you know that it is wrong. That's how it started. Or you went to a school, you were being touched by boys and you were damaged, and there was no real man you could confide in. The problem of the next generation is deeper than you can imagine. I can't say with my full chest that we're in trouble, cuz I know God will raise deliverers out of Zion. But if there's anything that is inordinate, it It should not be forced on the church because the church has standards. Maybe a boy want to wear open belly button and doing worship, you are doing—
who hold you?
I say, Kai, asibe. Are there men here that God is raising, that because of you the next generation will be better? Are there men here? Now let me show you a few things. Are you still here? The foundation is what the devil wants to weaken. I told you that when it does that successfully, people become trapped in their childhood state. The first sign of that is timidity and fear. One of the things— the role of a father in life of a child is to embolden the child and give the child a sense of identity. Some of you have children who are assertive. Or you call them stubborn and you talk courage out of them and you beat them up for standing their ground. And now somebody is touching them outside, they can't talk because the children who should stand and say no, you flogged courage out of them. I can't tell anybody not to beat their children. But don't beat esteem out of them. Some of you went to schools that if they land you, conk on your head, and now you are still struggling to compete with those whose head they didn't knock. I went to a kind of school that there's a boy in our class, they call him Obina. Obinna was selling spare parts with his boss. So when somebody makes noise in the class, the class teacher will say, "Obinna, go and slap the person." And Obinna will tell you to dress your face like this. And when he lands— these are things that beat out esteem out of people. The curriculum and the structure of education in Africa can never raise giants. It can't. Some of you are very intelligent people, but you did courses that you have no business with. Somebody's going to study psychology, he has to struggle with physics and chemistry. What was that for? And you kept failing at that, and the system keeps you there.
I see people here that will infiltrate the education sector and change narratives. I see people raising structures that is a radical departure from the norm. We are going to build schools, universities—
not one, universities— and change the narrative. Help is not coming from the government. We are the government. Oh yes, oh yes, we are. No political structure change any nation unless you are not reading. People will rise and collect their government through thinking and change things. Oh yes, oh yes. I see you going into creativity and changing the narrative. I, I returned from Qatar this morning and I was in the airport yesterday night. I was having a video call with some of our pastors. I said, see airport, the place even get garden inside, waterfalls, you sit down, the air is clean. What did we do in this country? Oh my, but we're not going to sit back and complain. Will change things. I didn't hear amen to that. Will change things. Will change things. Now pay attention. Some are still scared. Scared of being criticized, scared of not being loved, scared of rejection, scared of being seen, scared of making mistakes, scared of being the object of attention. Scared of being seen by the crowd. They are scared of being the only voice in the room. They are scared of unleashing their potentials. What are you afraid of? Who are you afraid of? If you walk out from your seat and stand in the front, everyone looking at you have their own challenges. Learn to own your moment. And don't be afraid. I shared my story with you. I used to have low self-esteem. I went to the bank. My dad sent me to the bank, um, to go deposit money for him, and it was customer— there's something customer day or something like that. So I went there and there was a cake And they said it's for customers. Why I didn't cut? Because I felt, well, not me. And when I got back, he asked, there was cake there, did you take yours? I said no. He said, enter the car. And he drove back to the bank and he stood there and he said, this is my son, go cut your cake. And I was shaking. And I went there and I caught my cake. Say, enter back into the car. He said, never be afraid of taking what is yours. Never be afraid. Real men pay attention to their kids. You pay attention. Some of you may feel maybe I'm hostile, but I'm not. I love you too much to allow you continue like this. A real man gives courage to their children. Number 2 sign of that, I said to you after fear, people-pleasing culture, where a child wants to please everyone. And some are still there, they displease themselves to make everyone happy. And try to earn people's approval. And I said to you, when you live like that, people will manipulate you. They will. One of the things I need you to be able to accept is criticism, that when people don't approve you It doesn't count as anything. It's their choice.
I don't like Femi Lazarus.
Well, it's your business. I'm not going to change for anybody. This is who I am.
I wish you were like this.
Well, get the clay, mold it, and make it like that. You bend here based on opinion, then you bend there based on opinion, then you are not left. There's nothing left of you. You have people— see, honor people, but don't make anyone your idol.
Honor people.
I love what you're doing, I celebrate you, I honor what you're doing. It's okay, do you and be fine, okay? Do what you're gonna do. I stood here, spoken about several things that the government intended to do. I don't care whether any pastor speaks about it. They didn't call me. And when we speak, the government listen and they make adjustments. Leadership is the ability to start first. Others will learn. The spirit of leadership doesn't wait for validation. You do it. Based on conviction. You are a leader. You are a leader. Your decisions are valid. You are a leader. Is that okay now? You are a leader. You are not ordinary. Don't wait for validation to do what you have to do. Number 3, I said trauma. Number 4, inferiority complex. Number 5, addictions. Now I've taught extensively about addictions here. Um, really, in itself, addiction is a mental issue. In itself. Okay, that's the physical part. But there is the other part of it where people are hooked on certain practices.
At first it gives pleasure, then later it doesn't give much pleasure, pleasure as before. It now holds the person bound. Addictions to different things might be a means to get away.
Maybe some, when pressure is getting too much, they get away and get into pornography. It's like an escape. Some get away and get into substance abuse— vaping, smoking marijuana and all that, cocaine, heroin and all that.
And at first it looks like it is giving a sense of pleasure, then later it becomes the substance of esteem that some don't feel among until they have smoked something.
Some can't confront the crowd until they drink something. You see, a man will get drunk and will fall on the road into the gutter, and he will cry. He wants to stop, but he can't. There used to be a boy on our street years back. One 31st of December, he came out, and we met him on the road. He knelt down and was crying, Jesus, this year I don't want to do this again. I don't want to, um, drink again. I'm tired. Was a chronic alcoholic. People joined him to say amen. But even that day he was praying, he was still drunk. So 1st of January, first week he didn't drink. Second week he looks like he was fine. Third week he was back. And one time I asked of him, and they said, oh, you didn't hear? I said no. They said he went to drink and was coming back. And a car knocked him over. So I said, what was— he said, no, when he was trying to get up, another car ran over his head. To be addicted is to be in bondage, that you are no longer in charge of an aspect of your life. That thing that you are hooked on determines what you do. And most times the entry point of these things are vacuums created by family structure. Some are addicted to sex. Can be an addiction. A boy grew up from a family, or a girl grew up from a family where either father or mother were not present, and he started going to prostitutes at young age. He will pay them and he will sleep with them. Now he's trying to love God, but that thing is still there.
Don't accept it and look for a way to justify it. Don't make it a culture that you now start looking for scripture that endorses you. When you come into Christ, listen, the Bible says you are a new being. All things are passed away. Let me show you scripture. Romans chapter number 6, verse 6, and Romans 6, verse 16. I want you to see these scriptures.
Pay attention with me here so you can see how this work.
Romans 6:6: Knowing these, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed. That henceforth we should not serve sin. To serve sin is to be a slave to sin. That once that thought comes, you can't help it, you can't control yourself, it moves you to do what you don't want to do. That's been a slave. The old man is dead, crucified with Christ. You are no longer the old you. And I'm going to show you how you ought to go about it now.
That's in Romans chapter number 6. Are you still there?
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Now let me jump a bit so we can go to verse 9, 10 to 16.
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more.
Death has no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once, but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon— that's the word there— likewise reckon ye yourselves, avail yourself to this reality.
Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive unto God.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey the lust thereof. Now, this is your responsibility, that whatever can trigger that action, don't give yourself to it.
If being alone is what triggers it, don't be alone. If watching certain movies is what triggers it, don't watch the movies. Because once addiction colonizes you, it will take you farther than you want to go.
Some believe that with time I will stop, but nothing stops with time. There was a meeting that was held years back, and it was a meeting for clergy. A man entered the restroom, and we were in the sanitation department, and we expected him to come out. So he didn't come out. We knocked, he didn't come out. So we thought something had happened because he had stayed too long. So someone had to climb to check if he was still fine, because he locked the door, climbed through the roof, and that was when they saw him. An old man, he was plugged with headphone watching porn. He doesn't go with time. What then is the salvation that you have received if you are not free? I'm showing you so you don't believe wrong teaching that it doesn't matter what you do.
It matters what you do. Let me show you now.
Romans chapter number 6, let's start from verse 16. Romans 6, verse 16.
Let's read this together. 1, 2, 3, go! Know ye not that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, of obedience unto righteousness? So it is whom you, you, you, you yield yourself.
Stop saying I started this because my father was not available. You can stop. How can you say you are raping girls because someone raped you? That's not the way to respond to rape. If you know the pain, you don't want to hurt anyone. Addictions, it has wrecked many lives. Many would have been more than times 10 of what they are. But there's something eating up their time. It is eating up their space. It is eating up their strength. I know people who can't face people till they smoke. They can't face people. And how do you believe a— what you call a gospel that makes you feel convenient in sin. Shall we continue in sin that grace should abound? God forbid. Substance abuse, sex addiction, homophobic tendencies. Prostitute engagement.
Hmm.
It is not normal for a man to drive out of his house and go to a corner of a street where some girls are and say, how much for the night? It's not normal. It's not a good life.
You are a king.
Your bride is not on the street. You don't disperse your honor.
That's not who you are.
And you see people that you know nothing about that in a moment your life can flash before your eyes and you say, let's go. It doesn't matter when you started it, stop, because you can, through Christ that strengthens you, you can stop making your background an excuse. And some get married And they thought marriage will stop it. The appetite that is wild before you found a woman, one woman can't tame it. I've said this again and again. If God speaks from heaven today and say there's halftime, Marriage, everybody, halftime. And you don't have to play second half with the same team. There's a sound from heaven now. Halftime, pause. If you choose to come back together, come back. If you don't, I approve it. That's when you will know that many of the pictures you see online, me and my Obi, is struggling and smiling. Because for some, it was until the water fetcher struck the water, for they knew how deep the well was. What kind of pain will a woman go through seeing the husband patronizing hookups? As a man, what are you doing with dating apps when you are married? Even for those who are not married. And you chat erotic chat. Send me the picture of your breast.
And you do it in the dark and hide yourself.
And it makes you feel good. But if you have a son like you, will you like it? Will you become all that God wants you to become doing that thing? That's the question. Unpopular opinion, there are male hook-up guys and there are women carrying them. Hear God, sir. People cover many things with clothes. Hear God, sir. Hear God, sir. There are problems you don't have capacity to solve. Hear God, sir. In all, it pays to serve God and to hear him. Many are groaning who are not in him. Don't copy their life. Don't copy their lives. Are you still there?
Yeah, good.
Let me show you a scripture. Proverbs chapter number 31. The assumption is that Proverbs 31 is just for women. No, we're going to read in King James, verse 1 to 3. Then we read in Message translation quickly. The words of King Lamuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. Yes. What, my son? And what, the son of my womb? And what, the son of my vows? Give not your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings. Now, now give me Message. The words of Lamuel, the strong advice his mother gave him. Strong advice.
Oh, son of mine, what can you be talking of? Child whom I bore, the son I dedicated to who? God. Don't dissipate your virality on fortune-hunting women, promiscuous women who shipwreck leaders.
I don't want to believe the nonsense. That men are polygamists in nature, not a man in Christ. If it is a struggle, cry to God to help you and be accountable. Be accountable. Don't look for scriptures to justify it. There are men who have hacked the wife's best friend out, slept with the house girl, the daughter's friends, the sister's friends. Anything in skets is demonic, and once you start, it keeps getting deeper.
In case you are young and you've not got to that extent, I'm telling you, that's where you are going.
Unless you stop now. Let me show you scripture so you don't think I'm saying my words. Proverbs chapter number 5. And the girl that they are not married to that is doing it, they are doing it together. You are happy, you came to church from the house of a man you are not married to. After service, they will drop you to go and buy things in the market. You buy it. Wife duties.
So I've seen church sisters do hook up.
What do you mean? When the family I was serving—
vehicles will be dropping sisters.
We thought it was from their work. My God. And we lift up holy hands. Little wonder we don't see the presence of God in many places because the altar is polluted. We must go back to the old rugged cross.
The world is in trouble. You need to know that we are forcing a lifestyle into Christianity.
And many pastors can't talk like this because many girls are in their palms too. My God, my God, my God, my God. How the devil silence giant, silence giant. A girl slide to their DM and they are talking already. My God, my God. You will not be silenced. You will not be silenced.
Amen.
Proverbs 5. If you are there, say amen.
Amen. Now let's start the reading from verse 7.
Hear me now, therefore, oh you children, depart not from the words of my mouth. Yes, remove your way far from her and come not near the door of her house. Yes, lest you give your honor to others. You know, when you give your honor to others, they start asking you, who are you?
That's the worst question. They are asking you, how did you, how did you get here? They now call an adult and a small girl and say, explain what happened.
You are a king, you won't see shame. I curse the root of immorality. You are a king, you won't see shame, you won't bring shame upon your children. You now see a 70-year-old man 60-something, they said he raped a 5-year-old girl. They now say, Grandpa, how did you get here? Shame is not pleasant, but it's always a journey.
There are people who their attraction is towards children.
My God, fathers, mothers, Don't just bring children into this world. Pay attention to them. Let them talk.
There are teachers in school who are eating your children's food.
Teacher will open coolers of different children and eat their food, and they will intimidate the children. And beat them. Maybe we need to raise a motion that every school must have CCTV cameras. There are male teachers who are molesting children. My God. And there are female teachers who are molesting children. They will touch the genitals of the boy and say, see, small thing. I know you don't believe what I'm saying. Be present. What makes you a father is not the ability to impregnate a woman. Be there in their lives.
Sit around the table with your children.
Don't be the madman of Gadara who will go to the tomb where dead people are and cut himself with chain.
Be in your family house. Sit down with your wife. Sit down with your children. See movies together. Talk. They miss you. They want you at home.
Every time you come back from work, you bath, put some perfume, he's gone again till 1 AM, 11 or 12, and the children don't even know their father.
No.
That's not the way God made family to function. One of the ways to protect your spouse is to protect their emotions. Don't make your wife face shame of not knowing how many women she's sharing you with. It's a serious matter. Are you still in this church or you are tired of me?
It's quiet in this room. Let the men shout hallelujah!
Oh, I love you guys. Oh my, I know all the things I'm saying doesn't happen here because you are kings. Let's give Jesus a bigger— but don't be a king whose crown is lost. You must wear it with honor. We'll finish this scripture, I won't forget. Proverbs 5, continue from where I stopped.
Lest you give your honor to others and your years to what?
The cruel. Lest strangers be filled with your wealth and your labor be in the house of a stranger. Yes. And you mourn at last when your flesh and your body is consumed. Now let me tell you something, in many more years to come What will matter to you is that your children and your spouse love you, that your boys can cry to God, I want to be like Daddy. There's no pleasure in the world that is compared to mentoring your own son in integrity. In uprightness. There's no pleasure in this world that is compared to that. We receive grace for that in this church, that we have men who are king men here. I didn't hear amen to that. You're a king. You're a king. You're a king. Your head is correct. Your head is correct. Your head is correct.
You are a king.
There's nightlife addiction, an addiction. My God, clubbing. I don't know how we normalize clubbing and still think all is well. My God. Say, Apostle, you don't know what's up. You know I used to be a DJ. God saved us from something, and that's why we are here. We didn't fall from the sky. Now there is the next one, tendency, or let's call it violence.
Violence.
This is one of the manifestations that comes with coming from an abusive background. Some men don't know how to talk to women because nobody has modeled it. They don't know how to talk to their wife.
Hey, sit down there! What do you mean? And some will beat, beat the woman and slap her. The way you talk to your spouse, you saw it from someone.
Everything done in your presence models a possibility. Some men hated the way their fathers beat their mothers, but once the wife does something wrong, they say, oh, this must be the reason. And there are women who are men beaters.
Hold on a minute.
One of the very important criteria you must look for in a man— in a woman, as a man is a woman who is kind. There are women who are not kind. There are women that God helps you, you are not sick around them, they will kill you. I once saw a woman, the husband was sick, and she was trying to feed him, and she will slap him and say, eat your food. And when the man is eating with tears and the food drops from his mouth, she will pick it from the ground and squeeze it in his mouth. And I had to collect the food, and I said, can I help? Said yes. And the man was eating and tears was filling his face. Will this woman still be loving you when you are not strong? There are women who are not caring.
I went to pray for a man. He was paralyzed.
He had invited me to come pray for him, and he was calling the wife, come join pastor, let's pray. And the wife was there. He called her several times, she didn't answer. And I saw him cry and say, when I was strong and I was the breadwinner of this house, I was not treated like this. If that man is not strong, hope you won't become violent. Do you love him? One of the questions men ask is, in my old age, when I'm not as strong as I am now, will she be there? Some women grew up in environments that were harsh.
As they are cooking, everybody is collecting.
It's food, food.
Ipu know food.
Food.
Eat, eat and die.
You know, when I teach, unfortunately many of you feel what I'm saying is not possible, but it is. Some of you came from very fantastic place, and it's okay, but just know what I'm saying is what? Possible. The way you talk to your wife, the way you talk to your husband, the way you correct your children, the way you respond to issues— you learnt it from somewhere. I've seen families where when there's a problem, they will break bottle on each other's head. Huh? The wife is telling the husband, I go forget bottle for your head now, now. And the man is shocked.
Auntie, why have you suddenly turned to this?
There was a lion inside. You say you like them young, free, and wild. My God. Now let me ask you a question.
How do you look at the testimony that that brother shared?
And by the way, I'm scared. I was traumatized when I hear. I became hard on him. Then he— ah, did he say the person I receive grace. This pastor thing, what they do like this, please, please, please help us. Ah, okay. But look at it, I was watching the video of a young boy who asked a girl out and invited the girl to come see him, and he had it in his plan to kill the girl for rituals.
And he killed the girl and cut off her body part, and they went to use it for a ritual.
And he had the guts to call the girl's father and say, I've kidnapped your daughter, pay. The person who has capacity for that, that capacity was built from something that was missing in the family. If we get families right, violence will drop.
That someone can go rob a person and say, 'Your money or your phone.' And while the person is still thinking, will bring out a knife and stab the person on the neck. Hey, the fellow is coming from a family.
It is either the father was absent throughout, or the father too was a broken man. Or he even grew up knowing that his father was in prison and he felt pain growing up and wants everyone in the society to feel the pain. If we get family right, violence will reduce. Violence will reduce. Violence will reduce if we get family right. A story of a girl that was returning from work, a smart girl, years back, returning from work, promising young lady about to get married.
A guy attacked her to collect her laptop and stabbed her on the neck, and the girl died. Also in Lagos, a story of a medical doctor coming out of late night shift, trying to move from his hospital to his house nearby, and they attacked him for his phone and stabbed him on his chest for phone.
And you know, people who do all these things will go online too and say Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is hard.
And you see people break into people's homes, rob them, and kill them. There was a story in Osun State, a woman that herself and her son agreed together to kill the girlfriend, remove the heart of the girl, cooked it and ate it for ritual. Family structure. There are mothers encouraging their children, go into Yahoo, steal money, we'll give your name to our pastors, they will pray for you. Families. Once the family structure is compromised, it's over. You want to get Nigeria right? Get your home right.
Those who go into government and steal, someone didn't tell them while they were growing up that stealing is bad. Some of you still remember the home training you got, that if you steal, ah, or if you lie. If we get family right, the grip of the devil will fall. Now here's a research. This is— that was done by Time magazine. But in order to be concise, I'm just going to read some of it. Number 1: The absence of the father is the single most important curse of crime. That when fathers who ought to model correctness are missing in the equation, children tend to become criminals. Go to Chicago, go to environment where the Blacks, Black Americans are, where a man can have 5 baby mamas and all the children will grow up without him.
They become criminals.
They will hijack cars, they will stab people, they will shoot people.
At point-blank range because they are hurting and they want the society to feel a bit of their pain. The ability to impregnate a woman is not what makes a man a father.
It is the one who stays that is daddy. We're going to make a vow to God today that What you couldn't receive from your parents, you will give it to the next generation, because that's leadership.
You will not sit back and say, eh, eh, I'm like this because nobody, nobody was there for me. You will take responsibility. So although I did not receive it, I owe it to my children. I owe it to them to give them a father who is a priest. I owe it to them to give them a father who is a mentor. I owe it to them to give them a father who is a prayer man. I owe it to them to give them a father who is a provider. Don't sit down and say, eh, there's no work, and then we don't know what we're going— you're going to get something out for your next generation. God trusts you.
That's why you are here. He trusts you. He trusts you, and you won't fail. I didn't hear your amen again.
You won't fail. You won't fail.
We will not raise criminals. Through us as individuals, the narrative will change.
Through you, the pattern of dysfunctionality will end. You will receive grace to end it, to change the narrative, to end the status quo, in the name of Jesus. In the areas you are weak, receive strength.
Now listen, listen. Listen, unto him who is able to keep us from falling and present us spotless. Listen, I understand, and I say this under God, that many of you love God. You want to serve him. You want to give your children the opportunity you didn't have, but you are trying.
I tell you, God sees you. He will help you. In the areas of your struggle, listen, it will help you.
It will raise voices for you to help you. You will not die trying.
You will not fail halfway. You will do your duties well. You will not become what you hate. You finish strong. You'll be a compassionate father. You'll be a kind mother. You'll be a priest and a provider. You'll be an help and a strengthener.
In the name of Jesus. Now let me say this to you: poverty won't catch up with you. Listen, listen, listen. I know many men in this room are trying. I want to provide. If I have opportunity, I will do better. Ah, there is the God who sees. There is the God who sees. He will open doors for you.
Those attempts will pay off. Those are them. There are many who didn't have the opportunity, nobody to say this is how to start, nobody to say take this and start with. You are the one trying to dig, trying to struggle and find your way through life.
Ah, you will not die trying.
You will not die in the midst of that battle.
Listen, I stand here as a man called by God and I am pouring my heart to you. That there is no situation you have found yourself in that God will not bring you out of. He will help you. Maybe you are tired and you look at it as a man. I'm tired. I don't want to hurt my wife again. I don't want to hurt my children. Maybe when you begin to argue, the children will be crying.
They'll be crying and it hurts you. You've told yourself, I don't want them to see this kind of thing, and every time it happens You go back and you are broken on the inside, but you don't know how to express it.
Ah, God will help you. God will help you. He will bless you with all that pertains to life and godliness in the name of Jesus. You will not be a tool of shame and reproach in the name of Jesus. You'll finish well.
You will be better than your father. What they couldn't accomplish, you will accomplish. What they could not do, you will do. What they could not become, you will become. You will not fail where they failed. You will not stop where they stopped. In the name of Jesus, what took them out will not take you out. In the name of Jesus, if there is a pattern of shortness of life, you will live long. You will finish well. I bless you from my heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, family structures are are repaired. Ohms are balanced in the name of Jesus. Receive grace where you are weak. Receive grace where you are weak. Receive grace where you are weak. Receive grace. If there's anyone here who is hurting, you are hurting so bad and you have questions— how did I get here? The balm of Gilead will heal you. Families will be able to sit down together and have important conversations. In the name of Jesus. Don't conclude yet. Lazarus is not dead. Oh yes, they might bury him for 4 days, but he will come back again. That home may look like the case of Lazarus. God is able to make dry bones come alive. He is able to make dry bones come alive. He is able to make dry bones come alive. He is able to make dry bones come alive. You are afraid. With all that I hear now, are there still good men?
Yes, there are.
Are there still good women? Yes, look around you. God has sons and he has daughters. Don't be afraid.
Don't be afraid.
He has gone ahead of you to make the crooked paths straight. There is the mercy that insists.
That mercy will speak over you.
There is the mercy that says, no, this one can't miss it.
That mercy will speak.
If it remains a minute to marry your enemy, it will scatter. Grace will preserve you. Now listen, I don't teach about homes for the fun of it. I know that's where the devil is locking. I'm not a marriage speaker or a relationship coach. We are speaking deliverance to families.
You receive yours. You receive yours.
It gives you strength. Now look at this. He gives power to the faint, and to them that has no might, he increase strength. Even the youth shall be weary, and young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles.
Receive wings like eagles. Now hear this. From today, your eyes of understanding are enlightened.
Because of you, they will say there are good men in Abuja. Nigeria. They will say there are good men in Lagos, in Ibadan, in London, everywhere. Because of you, the narratives will change.
Receive grace.
Again I pray that the doors of provision be opened.
Receive help. It is done. From my heart, I bless you. In the name of Jesus, it is done. In Jesus' mighty name.
