GOD'S JUSTICE SYSTEM 4

Pastor Femi Lazarus teaches two laws that govern outcomes: the Law of Seed and Harvest and the Law of Time and Chance. He critiques Nigerian culture's obsession with shortcuts and material success, then lays out six areas to invest in: knowledge, relationships, people, health, finances, and spiritual life.

Now turn your Bibles quickly with me. Um, this morning is very practical, and, um, some part of it we are going to have to confront, um A very hard truth. Is that okay? But in all of this, are you ready? Are you sure? So you have to brace up this morning. It's going to be a very, very interesting one. So we've been laying the foundation. God is not just powerful, he's not just sovereign, because that's another dimension of God you should understand— the sovereignty of God. It is under the sovereignty of God that there are certain things that might happen. That doesn't follow your usual pattern. Because in all of this is God, and one of the realities we all must accept is the fact that he's unquestionable. Okay, I understand that those who have been built up on the word of faith struggle to accept the dimension of his sovereignty. But he's sovereign, okay? He's sovereign. Sometimes under that dimension, you, you might just want to ask, but this person was good, why should good people die? It is not always that you can have logical explanation, okay? Do you even know that the mercy of God is under his sovereignty. He said, I will have mercy on whom I choose to have mercy on. That's his sovereignty. Meaning that somebody don't have to warrant it before you for the person to warrant it before God. That you feel the person doesn't deserve mercy doesn't mean God shares your opinion. He's God. Okay, the righteousness of God is under his sovereignty. Abraham believed God and God counted it to him for what? Righteousness. Praise God, praise God. That's the righteousness of God. It gives you, you can't earn it, but that doesn't mean you can't walk in the reality. So since there's nothing we can do, um, to end God's righteousness, let's just start going to be kissing up and down. He that doeth right, because that's another dimension, is righteous. Okay, but God is also good. What I showed you on Tuesday, that is good doesn't mean it will always be pleasant. There are things that are pleasant but are not good. In fact, there is a kind of love that is not love, and that love is common in Africa. Let me give an explanation. You know, African society is built on sensationalism and emotionalism. We are very emotional people, and because we are more emotional than we are logical, we are not ready for development. This thing is bad depending on who does it. Okay, I don't have any example. I don't have. Okay, that's, that's just the way we are. Okay, that the, the government can't clear certain portion of the road because the government sister's uncle's brother's wife has a shop there, so we have to abandon that development. It's the way we are built and all that. So when you don't have an uncle or a brother who is in government The government stealing money is bad, but if you have somebody there, if they fail to steal money to give you— you understand the way we think now. So let me show you another dimension of love that is, is love, but it's wicked. It's more wicked than picking a knife to stab somebody. You may want to crucify me for this, but it's true and I'm not going to backtrack. Have you seen people carry innocent children and put them inside the sun and using them to drop pity to ask for money? If you love those children, do something else. You say, eh, so this is where we now coming, eh, but do you know where the This, this, this is part of what I want to show you this morning. I'm here to teach you, not to agree with you. Nowadays I struggle to teach without being teary because I understand the gravity of what I'm teaching. You see people carry somebody inside wheelbarrow and use the person to be getting money that they will not give the person or treat the person. That's wicked love. It is not everyone that is cute that is asking questions about your situation that loves you. Some are just curious and some just need information. Yes, so they can know that, ah, our life is not as good as you thought. You're the one that always open your mouth, you soon be in trouble. He that loveth life should keep his mouth. Are you following what I'm saying here? All right, so one very important attribute of God that we Femi Lazarus also barely talk about is God being a just God. That's to tell you that he will not contradict his own principles regardless of your activities, be it prayer or fasting. By the way, understand that prayer is not valid where the will of God is not known. You cannot— prayer is only valid when it is in the direction of the will of God. You ask and receive not because you ask amiss. So anytime you have to pray and you are saying, Lord, if it is your will, Lord, if it is your will— wrong prayer. Leave that prayer first, ask for his will, then pray in the direction of his will. That's how you pray, okay? Lord, if it is your will, let this guy be mine. You know they work like that too. You'll be very frustrated. Then also, you cannot have faith in a direction that is against the will of God. For instance, you cannot have faith to have somebody's wife. Now you say, you know, I, I still believe, I have faith. That Pastor Mimi is my wife, I kill you. I'll just say, God, God, see, hold my salvation on one side. Just hold it. I'm coming. I want you to give me some No, you cannot have faith against the will of God. Then you cannot even have faith for what is not a content of your destiny. So are you seeing that there's a lot of clarity required before you can desire certain things? So important. So God is just. If we understand this, then it occurs to us that Christianity is not an escape from the reality of life. I thank God for testimonies like, I wasn't qualified for the job, but they gave me But you will observe that those kind of testimony don't come all the time. It's not every time that you will not be qualified and they will give you. In fact, if you ask those who interviewed you, they will tell you that there was something they saw that made them give you the job. Because this one that if we go about saying, Lord, I know I, I didn't prepare for this exam. 'But because Apostle declare, you are on your own.' It doesn't work like that. And the earlier we tell ourselves the truth, the better our lives become. I was saying something yesterday. It's one of the burdens I have in John chapter number 5. The man at the Pool of Bethesda, 38 years. It was the dimension of miracles, staring, staring, one person per season. But Jesus came and introduced a new dimension that my word can bring you out every time you can access the word. If I come here every Sunday and say, receive, receive. You say I'm a very anointed man of God, but we cannot change our situations like that because it's just going to raise people who put under all responsibilities on God and are not societally relevant. So part of the reasons why people don't like our God is because they found that the deeper we are in him, the more irrelevant we seem to become. So it now looks like if you want to be relevant, don't be that deep in them. Meanwhile, Christianity is not the problem, it's our culture. The culture of putting everything on God. Don't you even see now that even politicians will now tell you that pray about security? Wow, it shocked me. You know why? That's who we are. Now, I'm not saying— listen, we pray, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. So there are forces actually arrayed against nations, but the forces are actually there behind the seat of power influencing people to move against the destiny of their people. What I'm saying is that the forces are exploiting greed, greed and ignorance. If we have better people there, the forces will be irrelevant. We must all agree that the fact that we are groaning and suffering doesn't mean we are ready for power. If you have the ability to add money to something, you are not ready for power. Okay, let me speak louder. Can you hear me?
Yes, sir.
So God is just. All of us just gather and say, Peter, we agree unanimously that PTA is the— we are backing him to be the next president of Nigeria. So now they know you can't win, so you get it. It's not— it's not— see, I don't waste my amen. If somebody should just come now and say, Apostle Lazarus, the next election in 2027, you are the one— oh God, I no go feel win. Don't deceive me. Yeah, guys, see, that's the problem. We like deception.
It's—
no, we have unusual taste for it. You, you fall in love with those who deceive you more. Because it gives you adrenaline pump. Even normal relationship, if you have not told the girl a lie, your mouth is not sweet. Is it not just normal to say, I think I like you, I don't know you well enough to call this love?
Wow.
So can I get to know you? But you, from the get-go. Oh wow. Listen, listen, listen, it's not difficult. Anybody who wants you knows what you want to hear. Do you want the truth or you want to hear what you want to hear? All of you are looking at me. Okay, my rizz didn't work. So you say pity. You'll be the next president of Nigeria by the power vested on me. I— you not go feel win because there are grassroots and grassroots mobilization structures. There are stakeholders mobilization structures. It is important. And let me tell you, in every society there are powers that be. It's not just Nigeria, even America. If they don't want you, somehow the vote will not count.
Somehow.
So if this guy doesn't have the depth of the knowledge and can't do the work, let's pour 50 liters of anointing oil. E no go fio win, period. Why? God is just. There are principles that governs the earth. And the moment God put those principles in place, he rested. Foolishness is your attempt to take a rest away from God. Ah, God, where are you? They prophesy. See, nobody should be Disappointed in anybody? Even if I tell you that— let me leave it. It's true, okay? They prophesy to you, in Light Nation we have the Covenant of Life. You are driving recklessly, they'll kill you.— they call somebody for love and sure, you know, for love and sure, we use God to protect this one. He's now climbing a palm tree with a leaf of banana. He will fall. Please be seated, sir. Say it again: God is just.
God is just.
Say it again: God is just.
God is just.
So there are certain things I don't do because I don't believe in, and I have scriptures to back up what I believe in and what I don't believe in. I don't anoint Biro, for example. We can't produce leaders of tomorrow like that. Uni Abuja students, are they here? Shout a big amen. Love you guys, care about you. We have other university students here, um, but if you come to meet me to anoint your Bible because you are writing exam, I will seize it because it doesn't work in any same society. And I told you that if you don't build capacity, you will not be useful for both God and the devil. The devil too needs capacity. Somehow there are some things that are just fair. Imagine if the devil opposed the principle. Don't you think that's serious? If you are a thief and you are a lazy thief, where you are trying to climb fence is where they will kill you. In fact, if you are working for the devil The fact that it is him you are working for doesn't mean he will assist you. Say you went to go and sleep with somebody's wife, they now want to beat you. Now say, devil, you know, you led me to do this, now please show me where to hide. The devil will say, before you do what— before you did what you did, you not get sense.
To know.
Some things doesn't work like that. So I want to show you 4 principles. I'll show you 2 this morning that you can find in the justice system of God. 4 principles. Number 1, very important laws that you can find All right, under the justice system of God, let's look at Genesis chapter number 8 from verse 22. The first one is the law of seed and harvest. Genesis chapter number 8 from verse 22: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter. And day and night shall not what? Cease. Seed time and harvest, not harvest time. You cannot sow a wrong seed and choose to determine that this is the time you stop harvesting it. You can harvest it for life. And let me tell you something, just so you know. There are scars you don't— don't bother getting certain injuries because they can take away vital part of your life in one day. Everything you have ever dreamed of can become a mirage. Okay, seed time and harvest. I'm not talking about come and touch my feet with this seed. That's not what I'm talking about. Some of you like that kind of thing, but come here now. You don't like my tongues? I said I'm feeling something now. It's like an angel just touched my leg. Someone come and touch my feet with $100. You see, you see the same people who have been hearing the word of God in this church Members who don't know the word of God are the empowerment for false teachers and false prophets. If you know God's word, nobody can deceive you. Amen. Say it again: in life there is seed time And there is harvest. So some people also call it the law of karma. What a man sows is what he will reap. It's a law. If you sow corruption, you will reap corruption. If you sow something good, you will reap something good. Very important. So as you're going about every day, be careful of the kind of seeds you are sowing. When you speak to people, you are sowing a seed in their heart. What kind of seed is it? Will they love God more? Will they become more committed? Will they want to serve God more? Will they want to do his will more? When you post something online, what kind of seed are you scattering? Posting your cleavages and your breasts It doesn't edify. Tell your neighbor, it doesn't edify. Stop making— sorry, stop making Christianity difficult for people. Okay, who can tell me what guys used to post too that doesn't edify? Their chest. It used to cause problem too. Wow.
Huh?
Fronting their muscles. Oh, money. Oh, money does here defy, right? Wait, wait now. Young and cashing out, cashing out, cashing out. Fronting some $500. Young, small boy, big God. Young money. Na poverty. People who have the real money are hiding. Ah, pity, God do one for you. Now, now, now, now, legs just here. So it's tokumbo, or Nigeria use. A man should celebrate what he has, okay? Start from somewhere. But the culture of trying to oppress people with with what you have not finished paying for. Ah, I was shouting, sorry. Oh, I was shouting, I didn't know. Okay, so guys, they say stop flaunting your chest. There's even a new pattern I've observed now where guys are now wearing I know, net-like singlets. I'm painting the— amen, amen. So imagine talking to a guy now, you're having a— you're looking at him, I mean, so masculine and everything. Femi Lazarus.
Doh!
Wahala! So we must be careful of the kind of seed that we are sowing. We will meet people. Once you sow it, it becomes too late not to reap it. You will reap whatever it is you what?
Sow.
Don't go about breaking people's hearts, causing division, scattering Relationships. You are privileged to lead people. Sow good seeds in their lives. Don't tear them down, because the boss today can be the apprentice tomorrow. Yeah, yeah. But not to that same apprentice necessarily. So just grow. Life doesn't owe you payback. There's some very funny mentality you have that, ah, all this suffer, why don't suffer like this? When things, things will change one day. It's not compulsory. No, I'm just trying to let us understand.
Survive.
Win, grow, mature. It's not what compulsory. Anybody wake Femi Lazarus now, my ghost will haunt the person. They will deal with you and deal with your ghost. And let's also look at the application of that in respect to societal development. In a country where people are part of reality TV show, where they do all kind of things and there is no meaningful intellectual contribution to the society, that they finish from there and get hundreds of millions, brand endorsements and cars. You cannot tell the children growing up and seeing that, that education is not a scam. We can't promote all those kind of things. There are soldiers who are struggling to get their pension. They spent 35 years fighting. There are police officers who are struggling to get their pension. Some are dead, the children have not gotten the gratuity. There are teachers who taught We are where we are today because we got fantastic teachers. I was in Kano, the last Holy Ghost meeting in Kano. I went to my primary school and still saw the teachers that taught me in primary school. So we had to display the account number throughout the conference. Let's give to these people, let's bless them. So people do, yeah. You can clap for Jesus. We are trying to sow the culture that when you do anything legitimate, you may not come out of it with anything. It's, it's not government alone. We too, as a people— who are those you celebrate? Who are those you honor? Do you really honor legitimate Osun?
Huh?
It's us. We as a people. It's the things we believe in. If we call for a meeting that we want to have those veterans who have retired, who have not gotten their pension or gratuity. You'll be shocked. In the same country where a governor can go and be greeting somebody who is cooking, and there are people in that state who are not receiving that. Anything that is good for the camera is what we do. It's, it's a bad culture. Ah, we can't develop like that. We are sowing corruption. We can't reap what is good. We can't reap what is good. I am praying through you and I, intellectual capacity will be the basis for celebrating people. You will come up with innovations and listen, listen. Listen, you know your fear. Your fear is if we start it, they won't watch it. That's why you move against culture.
Start!
For how long do you want to live in that fear?
For how long?
So it means we are slaves to relevance. That's the problem. And you know, if you start it, it's the nature of our people. I mean, sometimes you have to move against the nature because of your belief system. Who will change the society? Nobody will. Nothing changes by saying amen. Those who are reformers must be willing to walk alone. It's a very lonely road, but you must be true to your conscience. The law of seed and harvest. What are the things we celebrate? There are programs in Nigeria that could not continue because of sponsorship. Cowbell Mathematics Competition, even Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is struggling. I mean, things that people will sit with and be more educated. It doesn't have to be shabalabalaba. It could be just an entertainment program. We used to prepare in those days for cowbell mathematics competition. So somehow we are all promoters of what will not build the future, and then we now want that future to be good. We are, we are sending landmines there, and we're expecting it not to scatter. If I get money now by any means, you honor me more, huh? You all see online that somebody just dash Apostle a Lamborghini. Okay. Let me adjust myself. So somebody just dash Apostle private jet because just made me know that my mind was small. As I'm coming to church this morning, that's my pastor, that's my Apostle. Femi Lazarus. But whether the money was stolen or not, it doesn't matter anymore. Now, would catch, be thief. It's— these are the things we are what, sowing. If we are sowing this kind, I will now gather ourselves 10 and say, Lord, change Nigeria. Avest now. Avest. It doesn't work that way. So I'm appealing to our government that the same way they gave the Super Falcons $100,000, which is commendable Let's celebrate the government. Femi Lazarus, please, let's remember our pensioners. If we show people that it doesn't pay to serve Nigeria with honesty, nobody will. Those who have spent their days serving should not spend their night crying. There are people who have died and gone to be with the Lord, and their children have been knocking doors. They need connection before the gratuity is signed, and somebody somewhere at the helm of affairs will ask for percentage for the work they didn't do. So almost everyone knows that, oga, when you have the opportunity for your own future. Collect your own too. We can't build that way. You see, anywhere there is injustice, such environment can't thrive. When people work, there should be reward for their labors. This country will change in our lifetime. We will see things become better in the name of Jesus. Okay, so let me give you some examples of things you must invest in as touching your life. Number 1, invest in knowledge. Read books. They are not for decoration. And stop borrowing people's books. Buy your own. Some of you, if rapture just— many books will hold your leg. Some of you, even Apostle Lazarus' books. Some people are in Badon now hearing me. My book, see, any knowledge you can't invest to get, you cannot retain. Stop looking for free tutorials. Let it cost you something. And there's knowledge everywhere. What do you do with your mobile phones? What do you do on YouTube? What are you searching? You are the one that will watch skit from morning till night. Say, ah, Sabiu wa. Femi Lazarus so funny. You are enriching others with borrowed data. It's not just skit. By time they've now done it in such a way that by time you are done watching one, another one will play. Before you know it, 10 years is gone on phone. Every time latest iPhone or latest Samsung, but no books. No books. It's not a crime to In fact, some will even take loan to buy phone that is not generating income.
Wow!
God will do it for you. Invest in knowledge. Buy books. Let it cost you something. All right, attend seminars, attend webinars, follow only people that are educating you one way or the other. All these people that are doing rubbish online, that are doing— I don't have names to call. Who are those following them?
You, you.
You now say things will change. Nothing will change. Tell your neighbor, invest in knowledge.
Invest in knowledge.
Number 2, invest in relationships. I don't call, I don't text, I don't— you will live a very lonely life. It is he that shows himself friendly that will have friends. So you are not the next best thing after sliced bread. Everybody is trying to be my friend, everybody's trying to be my friend. Oga, invest in relationships. Number 3, invest in people. When you relate with people, don't just look for what you can gain. Look for what you can give. Look for what you can contribute. If you don't have anything to contribute, have kind words. Have words that will motivate them and inspire them. People may forget what you say, they will never forget how you made them feel. There's a man I respect till tomorrow. I hold him in high esteem. Anytime he calls me, I answer. I knew him at a particular season in my life, always attending meetings by my spiritual father. I didn't have car. The house I was staying, one time somebody came to greet us and said, are we doing dry cleaning? I looked at him, it's not your fault. There's no anger, nowhere to look. Wardrobe, wardrobe. Ah, the house I was staying, you know, all these Abuja house now, it's fine till you get there. Oh, you know, oh, you are free from agent.
Ah.
So anytime he comes around with his car and his family, before he leaves, he will always encourage me and say, you know, you are a good man, be strong, God will strengthen you, we are rooting for you, praying for you. I never forget those words. It means so much to me. I'm always thinking about creative ways to be a blessing to him. You may never know who you are inspiring. Just do it and make it a lifestyle. And when you do it, don't expect anything in return. Move on, okay? Because sometimes you do something for a black man, it's a white person that will repay you. Don't do good and sit with it and say, if not for me, I would have helped you. You've taken it back. Number what now? Number 4: invest in your health. Invest in your health. I would have loved to give you some very important tips, but, um, we leave that for medical professionals to do that. Not because I'm not— I don't have authority to speak on that, but I just want to stay with the word. So invest in your health. The idea of three square meals is a myth. You will not be healthy that way. Hear that from me today. And then have periodic checkups, okay? Very important. Check yourself up the way you are breathing. Check it. Don't just say, oh no. Even me, I go for checkups. Okay, it's important and it's periodic. And particularly in a place like Abuja, like this— I can't speak for other region— try have a family doctor. Very important. Invest in your health. Stop taking sugar. You are the one that will drink Coke to sleep. You drink Mountain Dew when you wake up. He said, what's your best drink? He says Fanta. He say, I, I like Schweppes because it's not sweet like the rest. You know, there's another one. People will pour the Coke, now pour water.
Wow!
Clap for Junior! Clap for Junior! Clap for Junior! Okay, let me tell you the one you may not like. Register in a gym. And if you don't have the money, it's simple. Start by trekking. Yes, listen, listen, listen. If you refuse to exercise your body, you'll be predisposed to many things. So start by trekking. Some of our smartphones now, there's a way you can count count, you know. Some of you can no longer trek for 5 minutes. That's a sign that you need to do that more. True? If you make it easy for Covenant of Life to work for you.
Okay.
Number 5. Am I correct? Invest in your future. Don't eat with your 10 fingers. During stories, I was interviewing my good friend Pastor Grace Ofure. He said, anything I don't have time to stand up the money, I don't buy. How can your phone be more than your net worth?
Wrong.
Listen, we must understand financial stewardship, and I think it's a subject that we need to take seriously in church. If we know— and see, start with tracking what you are spending money on per month. It will shock you. I think the largest shareholder— I'm not— please don't hold me up on this, I'm not too sure— of MTN in Nigeria should be holding about 16% shares or something, and that's in billions. We are financing If you get the start of the amount people spend on all these things per month, it will shock you. So do you have investment? And the money that you know you don't have enough, you don't take— you don't invest in what is too risky. If the ROI is high, there's a chance that it's not true. Sela. So if you put 1 million now, in 2 days you get 2 million. Wow, wow, wow! Is that not fantastic? Is that not amazing? Is that not beautiful? Take care of your future. You will not always be this strong. It is not every party you are needed to attend. When you have money, you are the chairman of events. When things change They will still have their event and get another chairman. I was listening to someone, I can't remember who again, I think an American actor or someone, who said when his family found out that he was making $1 million, they all resigned their jobs. And he told them, go get your jobs back. Listen, be a blessing to people, but don't finance irresponsibility. At certain age, I'm going to talk about that in the next laws. Don't finance irresponsibility. You have younger ones that should go to school and get jobs. Let them get the jobs, okay? In fact, I was watching an interview with one of— I don't want to call names— the daughter of one of the richest guys in Nigeria. She said the mom told her at certain age, I think she was about 18 then, that will no longer be sending money to you. This guy is a billionaire. Said she went to get job at McDonald's. You see, my children, I don't want them to suffer the things I've suffered. That's why you are wise. Let them taste small so they will not build their life on entitlement. Let them know what it costs to make money.
Selah. Okay.
And I look at my girls, I shake their head, I shake my head. You don't know who your daddy is. My first daughter will say, I want to take ice cream, green ice cream, green. Take it now, take ice cream, take ice cream. I'm typical of the kind of person that will take my child to a fashion designer shop and say, she's your new apprentice, let her learn. This one that I want to fix, but in— we are taking— yeah, they said that, um, I will try to interpret in English. The person that rain did not beat, the sun is not eating, it is poverty that will kill the person. It takes hard work, and we must all learn the principle of the dignity of labor. The children of mighty men are usually lazy, too lazy they can't continue the legacy.
Teach them.
Invest in your future. Have money somewhere that you can't touch. If you have structure, the proof that your structure is valid is that the structure is more powerful than you are. Okay, number 6: invest in your spiritual life. The spirit of a man ought to bear his infirmity in the days of his youth. Invest in your spiritual life.
Pray, sir.
Embrace the word of God. Even when you are busy, let a message be playing. Something is just edifying your spirit. You don't prepare in a battle, you prepare for it. Take your time. Pray in the days, or seek the Lord when he can be found. Call him while he is near. Invest in the things of God. Be a part of kingdom advancement.
Evangelism.
They are doing this. It's a worthy investment. I know if I talk that one too much, say— but invest. That's the balance. Let there be something moving to your account as far as God's work is concerned. The second law, the law of time and chance. Ecclesiastes chapter number 9, verse 11. You can also call this law the law of time and seasons. Ecclesiastes, um, 9:11. I returned and I saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill. But what? Time and what? Chance happened to them all. Now listen, this is where we want to say something very critical. I've always taught you that the word man— now this is not the etymology of the word— can also be an acronym of 3 different words: morning, afternoon, and night. The morning phase of your life is the phase of beauty, is the commencement phase. It's the phase of dreaming. Everybody wants to carry a child. When you see a child, don't carry the child and say, wow, how are you doing? How are you doing? The balance to that too is that it also matters what the parents of that child have done with their own afternoon. Oh, there is a way your afternoon will go. Even your children That's the tough truth. Tough truth. If somebody walks in here with tattered clothes begging for food, nobody wants to carry the children outside and say, ah, so beautiful. True? Let's be honest. Give me one of your faves. You don't want to talk? One of your faves. If they walk in here now with a very— oh wow, so adorable! The other one is not adorable. The afternoon of the parents has rubbed off on that child. Be careful what you do. You are not the only one at the receiving end. Your children are also at the receiving end. So morning is face of dream, beauty, um, commencement. When you're in the morning phase of your life, you can say you want to become 100 things, who cares? But by afternoon, you must have narrowed down. Between the morning phase and the afternoon phase, you have to be in the line of what you want to do, so that by time you get to the afternoon phase of your life, it is clear what you are doing. It must be clear. Why? There's no free lunch. There might be free breakfast, but there's no free lunch. In the afternoon, it is the one that works that will eat. So if you did not have the opportunity to go to school, learn something. Or be involved in a business. We all don't have equal opportunity.
Yes, sir.
But to squander that season and think people owe you anything is to deceive yourself. One of the things, including myself as a pastor, nobody owes me anything. Nobody. Stop deceiving yourself. Are you following what I'm saying here? And that's one of the plea I'm pleading. It doesn't matter what department we all occupy in church. Let's teach our people there is dignity of labor so that you don't spend your life on stipends. There's a kind of man See, you know, like I said, we built our society on emotionalism. That now it's normal that if two people are supposed to meet over a dinner and just talk, or breakfast or lunch as friends, you have to send transport. I refuse it for our girls. I refuse it for you. Even if you want it, I refuse it for you. Like, a man wants to marry you now, he will buy your wedding gown, he will buy your wedding shoe, he will buy for your parents. He will— that's why many guys are running, because just by asking you out, you already tell him about your younger brother who needs to be sent to school. And let me also say this to you. Can I beg you about something? You may not like this, but don't let people put the load that is not yours on you. Listen, if you are not yet strong in life, your younger ones have parents. If they are adults, let them learn something. Stop carrying the load that is killing you. Don't fuel irresponsibility. Be there to support, but let everybody know they have to work. You're married, 2 months after wedding they've sent 2 siblings to come and live with you.
Wow.
Or you are a man, you want to marry the girl, you already preparing her mind. You are in a room self-contained. My younger ones, they have to come. They are dicey issues. But listen, one of the things I'm doing is touching areas people are afraid to touch. Because everybody wants acceptance. There are many people, if they can't talk to their spouse, they will first cry before they can talk, because they've been afflicted, dehumanized. The people that are living with them will be calling village to say things happening there. Daddy, no, say the other time we were watching film, she just sat and crossed her leg. What should she do in her husband's house? And if you are not ready to make your wife your number one, don't marry. And the balance too. Is that is your husband not your father. Your father owes you sponsorship, your husband owes you love. Wait, wait, make sure you have built your life to a certain level too. Marriage is not your destiny. I know we don't like what I'm saying, but I will tell you. Are you feeling what I'm saying?
Yes, sir.
Let me tell you something. At certain phase in your life, if you don't have a university certificate or you have learned something, nobody can help you. Life will be hard. It's true. There are seasons that you must not miss. And then the balance is that there is nothing you have failed to become that you can't become. So now that God is blessing you bit by bit, get a distance learning program and start learning, okay? And if it is your own hand job that you're doing, you're a fashion designer— in fact, now we have many graduates, even Masters, the guild, who prefer fashion, all right? So those things, the gap has been bridged. Aha. So you can do anything. Recently I received an idea. I was going to call her. I just received an idea in my spirit. I said, ah, all this tea that we're even drinking, it is our own herbs that they are now putting inside tea bag. And I say, ah, we can do these things too. So there are many ways, but just make sure that your hand is busy doing something. Now, that said, doesn't mean that you cannot find somebody that, honestly speaking, life situation has put this person here where the person needs help. That's a different case. This person needs help, and you can see that this fellow is maximizing opportunities, doesn't feel entitled. So there is a place in marriage where you are the one that will pick the person up, and it could be male or female. It is possible that where the girl is coming from, she's more boxed up, and the guy is in a situation whereby she's the one who needs to drive. If you love the person, do it. But just that, know the kind of battle you can win and the one you can't. So it's just as simple who has that, all right? Particularly if you are a Nigerian citizen. In America, but some other countries, by being a citizen there are some benefits that comes with it. They've not told me about anyone. So we're in a different climate. To everyone who is genuinely hustling and trying to be the one to break the pattern of lack, you will win. You win. Don't give up. If you give up, they will mock you. They will say, we've always known. Don't give up. Even me, my life didn't go the way I wanted it to go. All of us will have our own scars at some point, but the good thing is that you can pick yourself back and begin to, you know, build with what is left, and you can still build something really powerful. And as God begins to bless you, because there is something called the— is it the crab culture? Where you put hundreds of crab in the bucket, none will crawl out. As each one tries to crawl out, they'll pull it back. So you want to stay away from systems that pull you back into poverty. Sometimes it may look like wickedness, but first separate yourself to be strong, then to be able to help effortlessly. If you have to lift people from poverty, that will put you inside poverty. It's not wisdom. May your kindness not be greater than your wisdom.
Amen.
The law of time and chance is a very consequential law. If you miss seed time, which also, Sikof, speak dovetails into it, you have automatically missed harvest. Don't joke with your season. And I said something— this is the point where I'm going to close because of our time— you are coming from a place where your name doesn't open any door yet. That is not the kind of name you should be using to write rubbish online. Don't follow people who are the second generation of wealth or the third generation of wealth. You don't know where they are coming from. It's a warning. A child who doesn't have a mother should not sustain injury at the back. Nobody will nurse it. I give an example. Of, um, can hate me for this, I don't really mind, um, October 20 NSAS protest, the night of the Lekki Toll Gate incident. There were many stars who sang in the afternoon. Nobody died at night among them. Those who have powerful parents, they will call their children back home. And use the children of those who are still low as sacrifice. You must decide, and I'm saying this to my people alone. Don't let anybody use your blood for sacrifice. Nigeria will be great, but don't die in the process. Stay alive. Don't make that woman cry. In the village, or that man. You are the light of your family. They are looking up to you, that maybe this one will change the narrative. Don't let anybody kill you, I beg you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Don't join the multitude to commit evil and just say things because they are saying it. You may be stoning your helpers. You must be careful. What goes around comes around. I've been praying, and not just praying, doing everything we can to reorientate our people as far as the matter of Africa is concerned. Things will change. But it begins from us. Okay, when they wanted to kill David, his men said, don't go with us to battle again, lest the light of Israel is put out. You are the light of a family. Some of you are the light of a local government, of a state. Collective investments on your life. That light will not be put out.
Amen.
In the name of Jesus.
Amen.
So time and chance happens to all of us.
Amen.
I want to Pray for you from the depth of my heart. Listen, all of us, we've not found ourselves in ideal situations. We are all different. Some are more privileged than the other. But in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, in your lifetime when they are mentioning the greats, your name will be among them. Again, I want to pray that prayer. In your lifetime, when they are mentioning the greats, your name will be among them. It will not be said concerning you that your sun set suddenly. The Lord who made the heavens and the earth will keep you. Those of us who are working so hard, hoping to break the pattern of poverty and lack, trying to put food on the table, trying to make your wife and children happy, trying to make yourself, your husband, trying to do everything You will not die in the process. You are a light. You will not be turned to darkness. Look up, everybody. Let me say this to you as I close. Life is spiritual, and I don't like to make people skeptical Femi Lazarus. There are kinds of people God brings into your life that you may never see their kind again. Maximize every season, take advantage of every opportunity. And when God use people to lift you, don't pay them back with evil. That doesn't mean they become the gods you worship, but you must understand the law of loyalty and the law of reciprocity. Learn to reciprocate, even if it is kind words. I pray for you, your light will not go down.
Amen.
Where your parents couldn't cross you will cross. Where people in your family couldn't reach, you will pass that level. You have been working so hard. What you need now is opportunity. May you receive it. May you knock the right doors, speak with the right people, in the name of Jesus. It is done in Jesus' mighty name. Let's give Jesus a big, big, big hand.
