To the book of Genesis chapter number 48, and I will give you a background to this conversation and the reason why it is so important for you to pay attention. Now, I have a culture And I started that about a year and a half ago after a major discovery. I discovered that amongst other sermons that I listen to, I discovered that it is important I pay attention to those who believe they're on their way out and are speaking from their wealth of experience. Wow! It changed my life. One of the things that first happened to me when I started that was humility. That the clothes a child is celebrating today is the rag an elder has used. And if we pay attention to people who have experienced life, we'll learn so much. Or sometimes the issue is that some of us feel that because they are not shaking their heads and eating their get on the ground, they are not so anointed. Not so. So I want to show you the conversation of a man who practically was on his way out, and it was a documentation of his final moments. That's the man Jacob. So in Genesis 48, they told him, they told Joseph that Jacob was sick. In fact, the Bible made reference to the fact that the sickness he now had was the sickness that will kill him. So Jacob, um, Joseph brought his sons to see his father. And let me start from verse 3 now that you understand the background of it. And Jacob said unto Joseph, now he was speaking from his depth now, and said, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me and said unto me, behold, I will make thee fruitful and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people, and I will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. Now, he was speaking about the most important thing to him, and as far as he was concerned, the most important thing to him now, having done many things, is that he found God. Now, you, you probably may not understand that. For him, A man like Jacob who started out life really smart. Talk about smartness. All these things we talk about cloning, it was an invention of Jacob. A master of deceit. He was so strong. He planned himself out of the will of God. That's how strong he was, how smart. Hope you know that before Jacob was born, there was a prophecy. And the prophecy that predates your existence was not the function of your smartness. Did you do anything to earn it? What did Jeremiah— what did he do when God said that before I formed you, I ordained you? When it is the election of grace, you didn't earn it. It's a gift.

Some of our biggest struggle will actually take us out of what was made available freely. We struggle to ask the devil for what we have already in Christ. And sometimes the reason why we are agitated is because that time has not come. There's time for everything. You know, you may see someone celebrating a fraction of what you have in abundance, but you have not come to your own season. Then you pay very grievous price. To have a fraction from that person who has a fraction of what you have. That's what Edlim said, I want. You know, we read that story like he made a smart move until you read it again. For your twin brother to say, give me food, and the next thing you are saying is that give me your betright, that's not godly. Talk to me now. How godly is that? Ah, if you are eating and I say— no, if I'm eating and you say, ah, Apostle, let's share, and I said to me, give me the will of your house, the document of your house. How smart is that? You feel it is smart because you've taken sides, and usually because men of All of us feel that we are the Jacobs till people swindle you. Oh yes, have you been duped before? Have you? Anybody here, you've been scammed before? Oh yes, ah, they don't scam people here like that. No, no, no. The first time I was scammed, it was with an American number. Yes, I just got a girl born again, but I didn't know that she didn't get born again very well. So she and the boyfriend planned me. Oh yes, and I I deserve to be swindled. I'll tell you, you see my own fault. So they said that they were sending a load from New York to Nigeria. Then while the guy was packing the load, his wallet mistakenly fell inside, and then said that there was $25,000 inside the wallet. Eh, thousand grand. I was living in my one-room apartment. If you don't have bed, you don't say it's one-bedroom, it's one-room apartment. So the girl said, now you are my pastor, talk to the person the person over there, the person called America number. Me, I didn't know much. Ah God! He said so that, he said when the load got to Nigeria, they seized the load and they are asking that they should send money at the immigration or whatever to clear the load. I said, how much? He told me the amount. I said, say no more. Because he told me that once I'm able to get the load, they 'Give me $10,000.' Yeah, just like that. I didn't have money, so I went to meet a church member. 'Oh yes.' I said, 'You know what? We're about to eat it big.' I said, give me this so-and-so amount. The girl said, it's my school fees. I said, give me one week, I will surprise you. She said, Pastor, sir, please, this is my school fees. I said, say no more, don't worry. So she sent me the money. I paid. Then they called me again and said there's another bill that they have to pay. I borrowed again and paid. Then they called me again. At that point, I felt something was off. You know, those days, whenever I'm passing on the street, oh God, I felt like the biggest guy in town. I'll be passing, I say, okay, yeah, I'll be back. I will rent these two places. I'll bring them together, yeah, they'll be babbing, watching football here. I own this town now.

Boy, oh boy. One time, they didn't know they had dialed my my number. And the guy that was speaking American English, I was hearing him underneath speaking Pidgin. They say, "Alpha, your guy. Alpha, he don't pay." Ah! I was a client. The phone was on for about 18 minutes and they were just Christina laughing. Now I was shivering. Then I was pastoring another church. After about a week, the pastor invited me. When I got to his place, I saw elders sat down and the sister that I borrowed money from, her hand was seated there. I said, that's it, this pastor Femi Lazarus. That day I knew shame. We get into our biggest trouble when we try to go ahead of God. The reason why I was scammed was because I was greedy. True? How do you want to get $10,000 you didn't work for? Anytime you are swindled, it's because something within and you responded to it. Jacob actually swindled his brother because the value of food compared to birthright is not the same. And you must understand that God is not in support of that. You see, that you have found grace doesn't mean God will rob Peter to pay Paul. That doesn't mean so. The grace of God is not going to be God going against any of his children because he wants to lift you. It doesn't work. And that's why if you refuse to build yourself and you are asking God to lift you, you are telling God to be unjust. And God is not unjust. And that's one of the reasons why we seem not to get answers to many of our prayers. We are asking him to do what we refuse to develop ourselves for. We're saying, 'You lift me, I'm your child, forget about the rest.' 'Oh Lord, I want to get this job even when I don't have the skill. If I found favor, I found favor, I found favor on your side. Oh grace, I receive it.' Is that the kind of prayer we pray? Yes. And it doesn't work. I'm about to start the next series, the Justice System of God. We're gonna be studying God as a just God. And even Pharaoh will go on his knees for Jacob to bless him, because he has figured out that it's not about all these tricks, it's about rest. Put your right hand on your chest and say, Lord, I cling to your rest. Listen, we have some repenting to do. Can somebody still on strings for me, my brother? We have some repenting to do. I repent from my agitation, from my restlessness. I repent from every attempt to help you. I repent from every attempt to do it by myself. Every time I've gotten into trouble because I try to do it by myself, every time I've messed up your plan for me, every time I've tried to do it on my own, I repent. Repent. I repent. Glory to God. All right, um, we are gradually coming to the end of this service. I'd like to take few announcements, after which we have our affirmation, and we share the benediction. We'll be out of here. Um, once again, on behalf of my father in the Lord, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we want to sincerely welcome everybody to Light Nation. First of all, Light Nation North America. Yeah, and I want to say this to you today, that you are part of the people making history. You know, I would I was there at the inauguration service of Light Nation in Badu, and I was there to count the number of people, you know, I saw it. And I was there from when we moved from where 2 or 3 are gathered to where the facility couldn't take us, till when we moved to a bigger facility. I was still in that facility just few weeks ago in Nigeria. Now the facility sits over over 1,000 people and they're having more than one service. And Apostle is not even pastoring there. He has moved to Abuja. So I said all of that to let you know that today in this picture you are seated in an auditorium you will see later in a matter of months or years, and you will say, I was there that day when Apostle came to inaugurate this church. And we believe, as the Lord God has told us, that these house is going to raise men that will matter in his agenda. So we want to sincerely welcome you in the name of our Lord and in the name of our Father, Apostle Femi Lazarus and Pastor Miracle Femi Lazarus. In this house, you've heard about all our covenants. As Apostle has said, these are the realities that we work with. We want to enjoy you to join us in all our services. For now, we'll be meeting here in Atlanta and we'll be doing for now just Sunday services. I want you to understand that come beginning from next week, we'll take care of all the children by the grace of God. So we are not going to waste time. By next week Sunday, children church, we hope. So when you come with your children, they will have a teacher that will be over them. Everything is starting, you know. We trusted God for this, and now that we are here, there is no— no, no, I can never turn back. So that's exactly what is going on now. I really want to— I want to thank God for that. Um, then in Light Nation, we have our services as follows. Number 1, on Tuesday, we have a global Bible study. Wherever we are across the nations, we connect directly with Apostle. Then in Nigeria, we have various centers where we meet physically, but for now, in the US, we'll be joining online, and I believe that it's not going to be, I mean, so long from now. After not too many days, we'll be gathering also to fellowship and to enjoy those services. And every Friday we have a prayer meeting in West African Time. Each of our weekly services, they take place at exactly 5:30 PM. You can do the math depending on where you are in the US, all right? Either in CDT, EST, and any other one that we have. And on Sundays like this, in the Atlanta church, we'll be meeting at 9 AM. Today we announced 8 AM. That 8 AM is CDT, and you know 8 AM CDT will be 9 AM EST. So in your time here in Atlanta, we'll be meeting at exactly 9 AM every Sunday. Please join us, invite other people. And also Apostle lead us every day, he leads us on daily prayer. I believe some of you should be joining PPC. PPC family, they'll shout hallelujah. Yeah, yeah, that is the platform where we have the opportunity of praying with Apostle every 6 AM West African Time, every day without fail. I mean Monday to Friday. All right, so, and I will enjoy you to please be part of this. There are diverse kind of testimonies we've recorded and we are still recording. Be a part of this and And every month we have special meetings, apostolic meetings, different meetings. Just try to join us on all our platforms to get the updates as we proceed. Leaders, if you want to be— is now there are different layers to the training. This is the house of training. By the time I take the affirmation, you will see everything. All right, but it's a family that is, you know, that is joyfully oriented, that is knitted together in the love of God. Wherever you see us across the nations, you will see that symbol. You can't just find it— I mean, it's not scarce to see. All right, so we want to invite you, but if If you want to be a volunteer, please just wait behind to see either myself or Pastor Tayo. We take your details, we tell you what to do after that. From volunteer, then you move to steward. You can become anything, all right, in this house as the hand of the Lord is upon you. Glory to God.
