You said, and I quote, that photography is on its way out.
Yes, portrait photography as we know it is a dying craft.
It's sad, but it's the truth. You have been in the creative space, you are respected, you have photographed Aliko Dangote, you have photographed Onyof Ife, you have photographed Bishop David Oyedepo, Bishop Wale Oke, you photographed kings in this nation, you've done amazing work for yourself, you've photographed women abroad. And for someone like you to make that statement, it is weighty. You said, and I quote, that photography is on its way out.
I mean, portrait photography as we know it, it's on its way out. And I think that we didn't expect to get here this fast. And I think it's one of the conversations that we've been having amongst ourselves. There's been a lot of debate as to what's going to be the future of the creative industry with the advent of AI, and no one can particularly say exactly this is what it's going to be. And I think it's a, it's a very dangerous place to be.
Where does that put you as one who has built his entire career in this field?
I don't think there was anyone that was as bitter and as betrayed with the advent of AI in photography as much as I have, because here I am giving over a decade of my life to mastery. And to mastering a particular craft. And then all of a sudden, anybody that can operate a half-decent prompt can almost, almost replicate a lot of things that took me years to master. And what that does is that it, it commonizes the craft, the craft, the work. Yes.
