This morning I want us to pray and, um, And it's the next chapter after Saul went to the witch of Endor, all right, because he wasn't hearing God. And in 1 Samuel chapter number 29, David made the same mistake, and I want us to see it. Maybe the only difference now is that I didn't go to a witch, but— and I'll show you how subtle that is, which will lead us to pray about mercy. Is that okay now? Now if you read 1 Samuel chapter number 29 from verse 1, when the Philistines gathered together at a place called Aphek, um, David, who has been aboard by the lords of the Philistines. You see, when your way pleases God, he gives you favor even with your enemies. So David felt the need to compensate them. He felt, you know, these are the kinds— sometimes you just feel the need to just do something and you didn't even pray about it. Are you there? So unlike David, David didn't inquire of the Lord. In the case of Saul, Saul inquired but God answered him not. In the case of David, God was there to answer but he didn't inquire. So David decided to go to war with them. All right, I was going to go to that war with them. Don't forget, in 1 Samuel 28, there's been a word that that's the battle that Saul will die. In 1 Samuel 29, David was heading there not to fight for Saul but against Saul. So, but suddenly they looked at him and they began to fight and start asking questions. Why is he following us? In fact, they got angry with their captains. That why will you allow him follow us? All right, and they began to ask the question that in verse 5, is not this David whom they sang one to another in dances, saying Saul has slew his thousands, David his ten thousands? All right, so, um, look at verse 6 now. Then Achish called David and said to him Surely as the Lord liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight. For I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming unto me unto this day. Nevertheless, nevertheless, the Lord favor you not. So they're saying that the Lord of the Philistines They are not favoring you to fight this battle. Wherefore now return and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines. And David said unto Achish, what have I done? And as— and, and what hast thou found in thy servant as long as I've been with thee until this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord king? And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight as an angel of God. Notwithstanding, the prince of the Philistines have said he shall not go up with us. Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servant that I come with thee, and all that. So anyways, they sent David back. Ah, if you met David that day On the way, he will tell you that he has just received one of his biggest disappointments. That was the man who has never lost a battle, turned away from one. And, um, you'll be wondering, what have I done wrong? Until the following day when you will hear them singing, Saul had died. Like one who has not been anointed with oil. It will have been a stigma for life that David was part of those who killed him. And what that means is that he will lose favor for the throne. If he had fought that war, he will not be qualified again. But sometimes the Lord allows some disappointment, which is mercy. Mercy. It is what? Mercy. I saw the man who missed the flight that crashed in Brazil. He begged, he begged. I have a meeting, please. I said, you came in late. He begged like the plane is still in the runway. The plane has not moved. He begged. He said no. The kind of mercy that sometimes may even look like disappointment, but it is God. May you find mercy. Again, may you find mercy. Again, may you find mercy. Again, may you find mercy. You are going to get up on your feet and pray. My Father, my God, I don't care how it feels like on my body, as long as it is mercy, have mercy on me. Have mercy on me. As long as it is mercy, have mercy on me. Have mercy on me. Have mercy on me. In Jesus' mighty name we're praying. There are times that mercy looks painful. There are times that mercy is unpleasant. There are times that mercy doesn't look kind, but mercy is mercy. You can never really conclude that anything is a loss until you see the state of that thing in the future. I cannot really conclude. Somebody was sharing a story with me. Somebody was supposed to give them money and just suddenly they fell out of favor with him and he flaunted it in their sight. I'm not going to give my money here again. I'm not going to give any seed in this ministry again. Who do people think you are? And he went to sow in another ministry until EFCC came for him, only for them to see the pastor where he has sown the money to in handcuffs, told to cough out— I don't want to mention figures— money that he can't cough out because they have used it for reject. There's a kind of mercy that you look at somebody and say, that could have been me, man. I could have been finished right there. And the time it happened, you felt bad. You see, God, the way God loves you, you can even frustrate him. And you look at your life, you always complain, and he's saying, allow me love you. The fact that that's the way God loves you, you can frustrate the love. And it's taking him so much patience to calm your agitation while he's busy doing what he's doing for you. For this same you, you have cried tired this year, you have blamed God tired, you have this, and he's saying it's for you, it's for you, I'm doing it for you, I'm doing it for you. Maybe I should even lead you to pray. I'm sorry for grumbling, I'm sorry for murmuring. It doesn't matter how I feel, keep showing me mercy! Keep showing me mercy! In Jesus' mighty name we're praying. Now listen, favor is not always a good feeling. For instance, um, the guy who tried to fly, that the airport security said he can't fly. It was favor he found in their sight. You can find favor in the sight of people and they treat you bad because there's something better. Favor is not always good, soothing, pampering. No, you have found favor. Are you following what I'm saying? The kind of money that will put you in trouble, you can find favor with bank network. Maybe that's when they are upgrading that bank that used to give people headache. You know that bank? I won't mention the name. It's not me and you in this Nigeria. They're upgrading the bank and you cry, tire, until a guy's favor one time And then somebody said he wanted to give me money. He showed me the money years back, years back. He showed me, my mentee, he showed me like this. People are wicked though. He said, see, I should have given you this money then, £2,000. He said, but I don't feel it. I said, why did you not show me? We just finished praying together, long prayer. He said, sir, look at this money, but I'd love to give you, but I don't feel led. Say, I don't feel it. Say, it's not your own. So I'm like, why are you now taunting me? Is it because I'm broke? That's why you are doing like this to me? Yes. But later I know the reason why he must never feel led to give. But by Jesus Christ, by now I would have been ex-convict. Ah yes, I'll have gone to maybe Kiri Kiri. Ah yes, oh yes, all the people that he favored, they were in trouble. Yes, so, so, so God has rescued you from many things, but what was your response? You blamed him. You blamed him because you've not seen trouble. That's why you blamed him. Are you following what I'm saying here? Oh yes. Oh, somebody says audacious mentality. Yeah, there are people, they'll look at you dead in the eye and say, cop boy, cop boy. You just be there and be crying and say, ah God, why is my life like this? And God is saying, I'm helping you. You might be crying, you might even have locked yourself up and say, why is my life like this? Why am I not like everybody else? Why is my journey like this? And God is looking at you and say all those people you are envying, they are— they should be wishing they are like you. If you know who you are, um, I sit back and I laugh at myself for all the days I've compared myself with people. I just laugh. I'm like, oh, a man of little knowledge. It feels funny. That have even declared 3 days marathon fasting, which I did because of Shu. Shu. I look at people and say, see this one, eh? Even from start till this point of their life, everything is smooth. It is the roughness of my life that is blessing the world right now. It has made a rugged man. When I speak to you, I can speak to your core. More because God has helped me to journey. Are you following what I'm saying here? There are things you are asking God to take away, that that's your selling point. Don't take it away. You will later mature to understand. Are you following what I'm saying here? You mature to understand. There is a part of your life that you will discover that the poverty you faced was important because your head will be correct. Money, money is dangerous. And it is good. You get to a point people are blowing money and they are destroying their lives, but you can't. I told you that even one time, even with my money, I will go to an eatery to eat and I can't eat more than one meat. Ah, I didn't grow up having luck. Meat is a reward. Is there reward for those who diligently seek? Are you what I'm saying? Meat is food. Now I'm looking at different diet health plan that's saying eat steak, eat meat, eat meat. Ah, thank God. But there are some measure of misbehavior you can't just join them in. Because you have seen life and you have suffered things. I'm not saying you should go and beg for suffering. If God has blessed you, you say, please take me back to the field of suffering, you may not come out. So, so you'll not be praying that, come and take me out now. You follow what I'm saying? But there's a measure of deposit. Ah, thank you, Lord. Lord, there's a 39-year-old woman here that you are worried. By this time next year, you are carrying a baby girl. I hear the name of that girl, Rhoda. You are carrying a baby girl. Amen. By this time next year, don't forget that you are carrying a bouncing baby girl. By the way, I forgot to announce yesterday that the Lord had told me that everybody trusting him for the fruit of the womb, and I should pray for them that they will have children. Everyone, if you belong to that category, place your hands over your womb right now. You are married for a while. See, listen, listen, mark these words. By the way, from 2025, we're going to begin to have video testimonies. You know, I've not been taking testimony. I just let you, uh, you send it to us. I'm quiet about it.
