A newlywed couple with no jobs throws a wedding funded by family, then can't afford housing and keeps asking for help. The story raises a question: is this cultural bias normalizing dependence, or something else entirely.
Chapters
I remember a story. This girl was getting married to this guy. She didn't have a job. The guy didn't have a job. No source of income on both sides. So it was a case of practically sourcing for people to give towards the wedding. And, um, eventually the wedding held, and I don't even know why In cases like that, those are the people that want to also be loud in their wedding. So this particular girl, the only hope for them— in fact, after the wedding, it wasn't clear where they were going next. No accommodation, nothing. No, they were just going to— it was a case of we are trusting God. And after the wedding, anyways, some money that came to them— long story short, The father of the girl, about a week after the wedding, brought two younger siblings for this couple who don't even know where they're going to go next, that now they're going to be staying with the girl because he has tried. What I want to look at is that maybe this thing is not intentional wickedness. Maybe it is the fact that it's a cultural bias. Maybe the fact that it's a culture has become the reason why people don't work towards certain seasons of their life, believing that children will be the retirement plan.
