I want us to get ready for that because 1 Corinthians 2:1 is one of the things you need to understand to run a vibrant ministry. For I determined not to know anything amongst you save Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, But in demonstration of the Spirit and power— sometimes when you hear demonstration of the Spirit, you believe that the Spirit is not demonstrated yet until people fall down and break chairs. Joy is a demonstration of the Spirit. I didn't hear you respond, Femi Lazarus. Affirmatively. As a matter of fact, one of the signs that you are full of the Spirit is that you have joy. Love is also a demonstration of the Spirit. Please, online tomorrow, the young man said a statement that touched me. He said, no one has faith like a gambler. Faith, that is the ability to believe that what has never worked will work, is in the streets. When God gives you an instruction and you refuse to do that instruction because of self-preservation is a demonstration of faith in yourself. And Ananias appeared Abraham decided that they were not going to join them in doing that, and the Bible said they kept some for themselves. It is faith in themselves. You don't have the capacity to disobey God until you have rated yourself higher. When God told Abraham Abraham, go and sacrifice Isaac, your only son whom you love. If Abraham says no, it is because he has found out that he has the capacity to preserve the life of Isaac and to make Isaac the seed of the promise. It is the fact that you have discovered in yourself you don't have the capacity to do what God can do. That's one of the major reasons why you tremble at his word. I can't give myself a future. He said, I know the thought that I think towards you, Jeremiah 29:11, thought of peace, not of evil, to give you a hope and a future. King James says, an expected end. I don't have what it takes to give it to myself. That's why I submit. Is that okay? Amen. So you must understand that faith in itself is trust, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men. Your faith can stand in the wisdom of men. Years back I finished ministering. We had powerful move of the Spirit on campus, and a young lady came to me and said, I give my life to Christ in the course of your meetings. The deadline for school fees, so-and-so date. Tell your God to provide, because if he doesn't provide All right, I know what to do. As a baby Christian talking. We speak wisdom amongst those who are mature, because a fool does not have a digestive system to comprehend it. Who is a fool? The one who says in his heart that there's no God. Everything you say is foolishness to him. Can't get it. Does he have the understanding? Okay, so when you read that a fool says in his heart that there's no God. What comes to your heart is that a fool must be an atheist, but there can be a born-again fool. Let me show you. Hebrews chapter number 11. Hebrews chapter number 11. Let's read verse 6, and I want us to read it loud and clear. 1, 2, 3, go! But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that what he— what? Now go back because it has to be a progression. To that, 1 Corinthians: people who know that God is fear him. They revere him. There's a sequence there that we have to pay attention to. He was telling disciples— Mark 4:11. Look at Mark 4:11 and 12. You feel there's cheating in the communication philosophy of Jesus. Mark 4:11, let's read together. 1, 2, 3, go. And he said unto them, unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to them that are without wealth. What are those? Those who are outside the Commonwealth of this faith. All these things are done in what? Parable. Yes. Verse 12 now. So that— look at it— that in seeing they may and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not what? Understand. Lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them. Let them just see, don't get it. The problem is that you, that you have the heritage of— because you were not properly taught.

Let me show you the most powerful form of deception in existence. It worked in the beginning, it is working in Nigerian church. I have an assignment to Ghana. Because the same way God sent Peter Wagner to Nigeria to give a warning, the same tactics that the devil used to slow down their move in Nigeria is the same thing he's about to use for Kenya. It will separate the young generation from the old. By offense, as they clamor for societal change, they see the church as part of the problem. And the reason is because the church is not taking a legislative role. We are contemplating. Some of us will have to start. When you wake up, you catch up. No offense. Meaning that I am giving you this secret because I care care about you more than God can ever care about you. That's the biggest deception, to think that the enemy can care about you more than God can ever care about you. To think that you can care about yourself more than God can ever care about you. There's something God is withholding from you, he said. He knows that the day you eat it, you'll be like God, knowing good and evil. There's more package you can have access to.

That's a big deception. You have to settle it in your mind. I can't give myself what only God can give me. I can't. When Naaman, God is healing, and tried to give— what was it called now—

And you see, I, I remember while we're on campus, the richest boy in my class was a Yahoo boy. Call them G boy. They were very fresh, even though we're freshers, but they were fresher. The boy had one nice car. I can't buy that car now, brand new, and consider it a car. A few times when he pick us in that car, say, God, we serve no con this life, can't suffer the AC and the songs. But all those things fizzled out like wind. Don't envy the prosperity of the wicked. They are here today, they are gone tomorrow. The wisdom of this world can never bring anybody to a place of rest. You never have peace. Police will pursue you. EFCC is looking for you. Um, even Boko Haram. Now what I want to show you— I've told you that don't fall for the lies of the devil. When God gives you instruction, understand that God doesn't hate you. God can't hate you.

see, it's not like he does not hate you, he cannot it's you. Because this is not where I'm going, I would have loved to show you, but read Genesis 3. Even after the fall of man, God was telling them the consequence— this, this, this. Serpent, you will crawl on your belly and eat the dust of the field. So I want to teach you, how do you now enter? Because if these things have been ordained, how do you enter into it? How do you manifest it? Hey, look up. Are you there? 1, 2, 3, go! But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, those who by reason of use have their what? Senses. Exercise to discern. What I want to show you tonight will save your life because you need it. Let me share a story with you. Years back, I lost my mentor. That's why we sit under the word. But listen, one of the fastest way for your spirit to grow is obedience. As you submit to God when it is not pleasant, you increase in stature. Yes, sir. Let me tell you something. My heart is heavy. Sit down. Let me tell you one of the reasons why you must not joke with yourself. I want to show you a scripture. I'll show you the revelation and I'll show you the example. Turn your Bibles with me. Revelation— I'm sorry, Isaiah chapter number 32. 2 from verse 1. Are you there? The older king shall reign in righteousness. And princes shall rule in judgment. A man shall be a hiding place from the wind. A man shall be a hiding place from the wind, a covert from tempest. Pest, as rivers of water in dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. He set the solitary in families. A man will be a hiding place. The comfort rock brings— God can put nations under a man because he's a covering.

If you don't build your spirit, you can't cover anything, not even your own house household. Let me tell you something.

there's a problem very intelligent people have, and I used to have that problem. It's the problem of trying to rationalize everything. Sometimes if a miracle happen, I, I will say that maybe if they have not even prayed, they would have even happen by himself. I'm about to solve the math. What are the odds? Let's do the math. That's mathematics. What are the odds that this person had cancer, we didn't pray, person would have survived? Probability, right? Somebody's life on the line. Spoke loudly, manifested, was screaming in her. We rush out the spirit. You foul spirit of darkness, you come out of this. One of the reason many of you don't know if you grow spiritually is because you got born again in a very trush environment. You need to go to places that you will cast out demons and the demon will say, I know you. Anyways, if you are casting out a devil and the demon is mentioning your sin. It's checking your knowledge quotient. Let's leave that. You too, one who is born of God should not live in sin. That's the balance. All right, so the— but while the spirit was manifesting in the woman violently, she had a baby on the bed, and she, under the influence of the spirit, ran and picked a bottle and broke the bottle and was going to stab the baby. All the kids have gone to school, so I knocked, nobody answered. I was there for over 5 minutes knocking. God said wait here, so finally The woman came out. The moment she saw me, she fell and held my leg and said, 'You are not just my spiritual father, you are the angel God has sent to me.' I was wondering what she said. I said, 'Get up, get up.' I felt she was just happy to see me. So she said when she woke up that morning, a spirit told her, 'Today is the day you die.' And she had that recurrence. The spirit was so convincing with so much reassurance, you die today. And then the spirit began to lead her, start telling everybody farewell, start bidding them farewell, and start— so she began to say things that, you know, sometimes we say we live long, we don't live long, sometimes we say this. That's why, yeah, that's when people died, and they said things that pointed to it. It was under a spirit. Once they begin to speak like that, they signed the deal. So she was saying all that, then the spirit finally now said, so I don't take you violently in their presence, go to your room now and I'll take you. A spirit. Under the influence of the spirit, she went to her room and covered herself with a duvet like a dead woman, and then True to it, a spirit came beside her and they began to struggle for her life. She, as at that time, was not a grown Christian. She was just starting. So all she could say was, 'I will call my pastor.' And the spirit responded, 'Before he gets here, I would have taken you.' It was while the spirit said that, that she heard my voice at the the door from afar. Covering is not just about spiritual stature, it's about leadership of the Holy Spirit. That was how she was able to come out of the grip and then was crying. If you know that God is raising you as a covering, build capacity to follow him. See, elders don't eat with 10 fingers. If you squander the opportunity to grow spiritually, it's like currency. The day you will need it, you'll be stranded. The day there is a matter that will make— that should make you say, in the name of Jesus, that I know— the spirit can speak like sons of Scephas. Paul will know know. Your pastor will know who are you.
