You cannot discover your true identity in the absence of options.

When you're struggling to survive, scarcity numbs your emotions and hides who you really are. Wealth and options act like a mirror, revealing your true character. The speaker argues everyone should pursue financial success not for money itself, but to discover their authentic self and humility.

Is there a part of lack that numbs emotions? Oh yes. Ah, you cannot discover your true identity in the absence of options. Eh? You see people's true behavior at a buffet. Ah, everybody is disciplined when they are serving you food. When they say serve yourself, you will really know whether people are disciplined. And the absence of options does not imply discipline. Hmm. Wealth gives you options. It's one of the reasons why everybody at some point in their lives should be able to afford whatever they desire in the degree that they desire it, as at when they desire it, so that we can know who they really are. At some point before you die, you should be able to afford whatever you desire or require. In the degree that you desire. Is this the reason why when people have walked in lack for a long time, yeah, and now they have entered into abundance, if care is not taken, they become prone to the things they've always desired but didn't have money for? Now they do it with so much— When I entered into certain levels of supply, I was surprised by my behavior. Wow. I surprised myself. I was shocked. In fact, I can't— I was a very, very judgmental person. You don't really know your true self until you have options. And so for me, I think everybody should, to the best of their ability, master the art and science of becoming successful financially and otherwise. It will bring humility to you. When you discover who you really are. It is also part of success management, letting people know that I'm not deceived by your humility. When your net worth increases, let's see whether you'll be this humble. When everybody around you is saying, 'Sir, sir, sir,' let's see whether you will be able to not flinch when somebody says, 'O boy, come here.' I make reference to someone in the Bible, Jethro. Jethro never ceases to amaze me. Hmm. When Jethro met Moses, Moses was a fugitive on the run. He was hopeless, helpless. And Jethro reached out to him, gave him a wife, gave him a home, gave him a job. True. Guided him. And then Moses goes, comes back with millions of Israelites and the wealth of Egypt. And then Jethro looks at Moses and says, "Let me advise you." This leadership structure you have is going to destroy you. And I looked at Jethro and said, what kind of man is this? When Moses was poor and beggarly, he didn't move you. When Moses became the president of a whole nation, it also didn't move you. I said, God, number one, put Jethros in my life.
