Chapters
Once I knew who I was and what I stood for and whose I was, it definitely gave me the opportunity to. I wasn't worried about a mask anymore when I was intimate with her or even riding in a vehicle. You know, it's one thing to get naked with your wife and let's get intimate, but get in a car and drive for eight hours and put your phones in the backseat.
When my father seduced my mother and he started to, you know, do the deed, he let his horny side get a hold of him. There was trillions of little swimmers, man, trying to make it. And there was one dude who did, and that one dude is sitting here on this camera right now.
Man, I am a bold servant leader.
I'm a son of the most high, a son of the creator.
I am a chain breaker, a legacy maker, and a son of the living.
God that you made a great day to have a great day, Lord, and thank you that you don't have yes men on this show. Thank you that you don't have men afraid to ruffle feathers or. Or thank you that there's no fear of man on this show.
I love the Lord and I love people that need the Lord.
I'm just tired of being fake. And if I got to be fake and I can't be real, the Bible says, confess your sin to one another.
I love you.
I honor you, man.
You are like your fruit of the ministry, man. Foreign.
Hey, welcome back to the holy and horny podcast, man. I'm so excited for today. Guy Jones. Today's gonna be good, bro.
Today is going to be good. And not only am I excited today, I've been waiting for today. And this thing has been meant to happen for quite some time, and we've been talking about getting a special guest on this show, but when you bring somebody in from Louisiana, it hits just a little bit different.
Oh, bro. It does. I feel like this is something that's been. What do you call it whenever you're, like, brewing something, it's like, been fermenting and it's.
You know what I like is a low country boil. And the low country boil from Louisiana has crawfish, potatoes, corn on the cobbler. But what makes a low country boil special is the roux. It's a seasoning. It's the spice. It's the foundation of the low country boil. Well, the foundation of our friend and guest is coming on this show is been brewing for a long time. And he's just. What I love about Travis Terrebone is he just lets it fly, man. He's just real.
And.
And if he's got something on his chest, he can't put on a mask, he's gonna let you know.
He's gonna let you know. All righty. Hey, well, let's bring on Travis Terrabone then, man. There he is, our boy, Travis Terrabone. What's going on, brother?
What is up, dude? I'm stoked to be here. I don't even know if I could live up to the hype of being holy and horny like you dudes, bro, but I am going to give it hell, bro.
You're a holy and horny man. We know it. That's why you're here.
That's a fact.
You're so holy and horny that we ultimately, our goal is to get you and your wife on here because we know that the married couples that listen to this show would gain so much from y' all as far as wisdom and how y' all navigate, especially a split family, and then also how you navigate just keeping the spice in the relationship. So have you had relationships in the past that you couldn't keep the spice in? And what's different if. If anything is different, which I think it is. What's different about this relationship?
Yeah, great question for sure. You know, so my wife, she's my second wife again. We talked about that. We have a blended and blessed family. I'll tell you what the secret is. It's in the room, man, like you talked about. It's like as far as a man goes, if you want somebody to keep the spice alive 10, 15, 20 years down the road, imagine what level it has to be on when you get started. So my wife is a fashionista, dude. She's a straight 10 out of 10. And God brought her to me at a different time. You know, I was a POS in my former life, dude. Like, I didn't deserve her for many years. And when we gave. When she came into my life, we started to build our relationship and our intimacy and our one on one life is something that we covet probably almost completely different than our parenting, our entrepreneurship, and everywhere else in our life. So I would say this whole concept of like, balance, work, life balance, or, you know, balance in life, menace out of whack. The intimacy is the roux. Keeping it real from an intimacy perspective is. Is, man. That's where it's at. Like, our intimate life is something that we covet above majority of everything else. I mean, not above our. Our children, in fact, but our intimacy is extremely important. To us for sure, bro.
I love that. Something that just stood out to me that you said, I think this is good, bro. This is going to be such a good show, because anytime we. Us three, just start talking, it just gets really good. So something that you said is. You said that when you start keeping it real, I feel like you can't get intimacy unless you're keeping it real. Like, that's just. That's just not going to happen. Intimacy doesn't happen. And if you guys didn't know, you know, me and. Me and my boy, Guy Jones, we're writing a book right now, and we just started writing a book. Super stoked about this book. It's gonna be phenomenal. It's about being a biblical alpha, right? And one of the main things about being a biblical alpha, I believe, is walking in truth. In other words, being real. So terrible. And I'm curious, brother, like, how was the transition in the shift and what led you? Or would you say that in your previous marriage, bro, that you weren't really real? And what's the difference now in being real?
So if you don't hear anything that I say for the rest of this podcast, hear this. It's freaking identity, dog. Like, you gotta know who you are and whose you are, and the world does not define that as what's sexy. But truthfully, if you're gonna lead a woman through intimacy and steward a woman's intimacy, you gotta know who you are. You gotta know what you stand for. You gotta know whose you are. And that was the switch. That was the switch that changed everything for me, and that was the switch that changed everything for her. And so, ultimately, that was the switch that changed everything for us. So definite marriage, man. I suffer from. I'm 43 years old. I can't say I'm a recovering father wound because it still affects me to this day. But when you don't have anyone to speak identity into you, you are a lost. Our brother Steve calls it a ronin. And if you're a ronin, you ain't leading nobody, especially not leading nobody into the sack or into the bedroom or into the throne. The throne room of your relationship, which is your bedroom.
Dang, bro. That's really good, guy. What do you got on that, bro? I got some stuff.
So, yeah. So essentially, I got a few things. And I know Travis, so I've known Travis for about a year. But how can you say you know somebody in just a year? How do you get to know people like that? And how am I so confident that when I say, man, I know Travis Terrebon well. I know the worst parts about Travis Terrebon because he's let me in those areas of his life. I know the worst parts of Frank Ortega because he's let me in those areas of his life. And there's something a little bit different about those relationships where you talk about the stuff that you're uncomfortable to even talk about anybody with. You know, there's stuff that me and God talk about that I'm worried about talking about with other friends because they'll judge me. That's just human nature. Human nature says, man, let me judge Guy Jones because I don't have this problem. And it's going to make me feel a little bit better that he does have this problem. But brotherhood and alpha males. I say, hey, Frank, bro, this is what I'm struggling. This is what I'm dealing with. And Frank would be like, bro, that's it. I got this, this, and this going on. And it's like, bro, we do that to complete each other, not to compete with each other. And that's what's different. And that's why my business thrives so well, is because, honestly, I want everybody that ever works for me to be in the position that I'm in to buy a brand new house, to buy their dream truck, to have the freedom to take their kids on a dream vacation. But not everybody wants that for themselves, so. But I'm here to help them complete them. And, and ultimately not all of them will see victory. And maybe their financial part, they'll see victories. They might not be as dedicated to that part of their life, but they'll show up a little bit better. But what Travis was saying about truth, you know, we can't. Me and Frank can't speak from the point of having. Having a really successful marriage at this point in the game. Get with us in a couple years and it may be a different story, but we can talk about relationship and being vulnerable and real and how that builds a strong foundation of R. Dude.
You know what that reminds me of, y'? All? It's. I love how God works, but it. It reminds me of how there's a story in the Bible of when Jesus crosses over a lake and it's. It's when he runs into Legion, the man that's got like all these demons, right? Like, how. How many of us feel like, I got all these demons, right? Like, if somebody really knew what was going on inside of my head, they would know this dude ain't perfect. He's got all These demons, right? And so Jesus runs into him and he says, hey, what's your name? Dude, we know that God knows everything. He doesn't just ask a question because he doesn't know. He asks a question for a specific reason. And what I love is that in that scripture it was Legion that answered, says, my name is Legion. It wasn't, whatever the dude's name, it wasn't, hey, my name is Frank. So my name is Legion. In other words, he said, my name is this problem. This is the problem that I have. And because Legion showed up, Jesus was actually able to like, do a miracle in that moment and free the guy. And so I keep thinking about intim, like, intimacy and identity. Jesus gave that dude his actual identity back when Legion surfaced. Bro, like whenever, whenever we talk to God, how often are we just trying to put on this, like, fake mask, this like, faith Persona of like, no, my name is holy. No, hey, right now my name is pissed off. Right now my name is impure. Right now my name is shame. Right now. This is literally what I'm rocking with. And whenever we show up in the presence of God and we actually show him our demons, that's when God can actually start to do the work and real identity comes to life. At least that's been my experience. What was your experience, Travis?
You know, I would say it was, it was. I. I would say discipline and self leadership will become a desire, and then that desire can become delight. And so if. If you trust in the Lord and he's going to give you the desires of. If you delight yourself in the Lord and he's going to give you the desires of your heart, if that works with God, it's got to work that way with, in your relationship. If your relationship with God is steward of, Is weighed upon delighting yourself in the Lord, then delighting myself in my wife, she will then give me the desires of my heart. And so I had to get to a point where I had to know her on such an intimate level that almost better than she knew herself. So I couldn't do that until I knew that about me. And so once I knew who I was and what I stood for and whose I was, it definitely gave me the opportunity to. I wasn't worried about a mask anymore when I was intimate with her or even riding in a vehicle. You know, it's one thing to get naked with your wife and let's get intimate, but get in a car and drive for eight hours and put your phones in the backseat and just talk about, you know, who are you? Because I believe in my first marriage, I was married for freaking 12 years, bro. I didn't know who the hell I was married to. And it was because I didn't know me and I didn't know the Lord. And so how could I delight myself in any of that? I just. My wife was an instrument. And so now I'm able. I understand what delighting myself in something is. And in someone through a relationship with God. And now the desires of my heart are met. It's not the desires of my flesh. She meets the desires of my heart, man. So to me, it's all about identity. And. And it was scripture. It was scripture. I'll. I pulled it up because I wanted to tell you. You asked me about a moment. And so when I first started rolling with other GS, other dudes like you guys a couple years ago, God did a radical thing in my life, and it started through vulnerability. I got up in front of a room, in front of 20 other successful entrepreneurs and got buck naked emotionally. I said, hey, here's what I am, here's what I don't want to be anymore. Here's what I'm going to become. And if. If I'm gonna. If God is gonna move in relationships with other men that I've never had before, you gotta see me spiritual and emotionally naked. And so when I got in that room, I led with vulnerability. And because I led with vulnerability, men were. Men were able to steward my spiritual relationship. And in that process, I didn't know how to read the Bible. And then somebody was like, bro, start with proverbs. There's 31 of them. Read one a day. And so, well, when I got to 31, I realized why they make T shirts and everybody talks about a Proverbs 31, woman. Well, when you read and you read and you read and you talk about this amazing woman, a man with no identity or struggling with his identity or his identity in Christ is going to get to around verse 22 and be like, man, ain't no woman. Like this even exists. Well, verse 23 tells you why you can't see that woman. And verse 23 says, her husband is respected at the city gate where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. Bro, you want a woman that's going to meet the desires of your heart? You got to be that dude. And if you ain't that dude, you ain't. You don't deserve a Proverbs 31. Woman. You ain't getting a Proverbs 31. Think about that. Respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat amongst the elders of the land. Yeah, that's sexy. I'll go into a bar with a woman right now and say, hey, you know who I am? I'm respected elder serving at the city gate, man. That's a penny dropper. That's a bill.
So are you that dude Travis Terrebon?
I am now. Damn right I wasn't then.
Frank Ortega, when did you know you were a winner?
When I was born, dog.
When you were born.
When I was born. Let me break this down to you guys real quick, okay?
How'd you know you were a winner when you were born?
Because when my father seduced my mother and he started to, you know, do the deed, he. He let his horny side get a hold of him, right?
And deliver a scene.
There was. There was trillions of little swimmers, man, trying to make it. And there was one dude who did, and that one dude is sitting here on this camera right now, man. That's what. That's how I know that I was a winner the day that I was born, bro. The day I was conceived. You know what's crazy, bro, is that God is such a winner that he doesn't wait around for you later on in your life to make you a winner. He does it from the get go. He said, hey, son, upon conception, you're going to be a winner. And I think the way that you walk as that man that Travis was just talking about, right? I think the way that you walk as that man is recognizing, dude, I'm a winner. I. I sit it. I sit. I. I'm at the gate, man. Only winners hang out there. It's like the spot, you know what I'm saying? Like, where. There's like, the spot where everybody would go and, like, meet and hang out with. Whether that was at Sonic, if that was your hometown, right? If it was Mexico, my dad's hometown, it was a specific bar on this specific corner, like right there in that Vario, you knew that's what th. Those people were meeting up. It's like, I think when you recognize that you're a winner, you can start showing up as that man.
I think winners come off a little bit different. There's something just a little bit different there. And you got a lot of guys that overcompensate and. And act like a winner, but it's coming from a place of insecurity versus knowing. Knowing in your heart, identity, who are you? So I think that's one thing that me, you And Travis talk about a lot is identity. And for people that don't understand identity, they're thinking you're just talking a word. But there is so much depth to identity. And then once you had that identity, then putting vision behind it, and you end up in a spot like, I end up right now where, like, I'm like, God, thank you. I'm a winner. Thank you. Bless me so much. But how, like, how is this even possible? Things I envisioned years ago. I spent all those years incarcerated with no air conditioning, writing out dreams and goals and vision and reading and studying. But I had no. I couldn't act on it. But now I'm walking and all of those things, and it doesn't make me cocky. It doesn't make me feel better than anybody. It makes me want that for other people more. It makes me continually check my intentions. Is this about building my castle or is this about building the kingdom of God?
Come on, man.
Amen.
Listen, I. I want to tell a little story about identity and, like, what the world says identity is, because I want. I want dudes to be clear about what. When I'm talking about identity. Sexy identity versus worldly identity. We own Holy and Horny. So we're going to unpack it. A couple years ago, my wife and I are on vacation in Florida, and we walk up to a bar outside Plein Air Bar, and we're waiting to get seated in a restaurant. And they're like, you know, hey, you guys could take a seat at the bar. Well, I walk up to the bar, and there's one seat available. So naturally, I'm like. I pull the seat out for my wife. She sits down. I stand up. So I'm standing up, and I got my eyes locked on this woman, my wife. And I got my back turned to two dudes behind me. And they're pretty close, and so I can hear what they're saying, but I ain't paying them no mind, you know? So my wife orders a drink, and we're all good, and we're in Florida. It's summertime. She's looking sexy. And I'm, like, trying to block these dudes out, but it's kind of loud. And they sit down at the same time, like, right before us. And I don't believe they know each other. And so when they start the conversation, it's like, what's up, man? My name's Joe. Nick. Whatever the case is, it took them half a second to get into what they do for a living. And in my mind, I'm Thinking that's what these dudes think identity is. And when you walk around in the world, that's what dudes say. Well, what it's like dogs sniffing each other's butt in the street. Like, yeah, right away, hey, what's up, dude? My name's Travis. My name is Frank. What you do for a living? Well, who cares? Yeah, that ain't my identity, that's what I do. So there's a hard line there about identity and what I mean by that. Secondly, it took them about 30 seconds, it took me about 30 seconds to realize that when I turned around, their wives were standing up with me and the dudes were sitting down and it less than a minute, my wife is talking to me and she says, hey, hey, can you hear me? I'm like, I'm mind blown right now. I'm listening to these dudes conversation and they are like, my wife is this. And just bitching about their wives. And I'm like, beta. Like, dude, it blew me away. And. But if you, once you have biblical identity and you know you have identity in Christ and you recognize your spiritual gifts and you recognize your worldly gifts and you get that in order, you will start to see these dudes sticking out, like walking around with arrows on top of. And they're everywhere, dog. And when you, when you're talking about how to maintain intimacy in a relationship after a long time, you can't be no beta. Yeah, you got to be an alpha. And so recognizing my spiritual gifts above my worldly gifts and walking in that authority, that's what keeps the fire. Cuz she don't have to question who I am ever, bro.
It keeps the fire because you stay on fire.
That's it.
As, as soon as a man loses his fire, he's the head of the household, bro.
That's right.
He's a, he's the head of. This is why me and Guy were talking about this the other day and I, I was coaching on this with the men in the community. I was like, bro, if you don't have purpose yet, why the hell do you need a helper? Like, what is she helping you with, dog?
Right, right.
It's like, bro, that's just not, that's just not how it works. Like, I believe that you fan the flame. Like Paul said to Timothy within yourself. And it has to be identity. Speaking of identity, Travis, why don't you introduce yourself, tell us who Travis Terrbone is.
I'm glad you asked.
Man. So spiritually.
Declaration, bro.
What's that? I'm breaking.
I want your declaration.
Oh, yeah, yeah. I am a bold servant leader, standing as a lighthouse, as a beacon towards Alpha biblical manhood, and a servant of the most high God. So come on.
Hey, Guy Jones, why don't you tell everyone unholy and horny, who Guy Jones is, man?
My name is Guy Jones. I'm a man of honor, generosity, compassion, and I'm fully present. I'm a son of the most high, a son of the Creator. I am a creator. I am the one, the one to break generational curses, the one to lead this nation, the one to lead my state. Starts right here, God. Jones.
Amen. Amen. I'll just go ahead and introduce. Yes, you are. I'll go ahead and introduce myself, too. My name is Frank Ortega. I am a man of presence that walks in honor, courage, and integrity. I am a chain breaker, a legacy maker, and. And a son of the living God. This is identity, y'.
All.
Like, that's identity. Like, bro, I almost want to start saying hi to dudes by being like, hey, man, who are you? Instead of, hey, bro, what do you do? Hey, bro, who are you? Beta.
Beta.
I do. I do a lot of, like, business consulting with other guys starting businesses. And that's one of the first questions I ask, is not who you are, but it's like, why this business? What's the. Why do you want to start this business? And just one question like that, just a simple question. Why? Why do you want to start this business? And, well, and normally they'll go into, like, numbers. Well, I got a friend, he's killing it over here.
And.
Or this business has this special niche, but they can't tell you the purpose, the. The. The identity of the reason behind why they're doing what they do. If you ask me, my success comes from. I know exactly why I'm doing what I do. I know how to. To grade my employees because I know the exact values that they must display to be successful at Pinnacle, to be part of this beautiful business that we're running. Not for me, and it's not my business, but this Kingdom business that we're running. And now it's spun off into a few businesses, and we're Pinnacle Resources Group, but each one has to fall under that hat. And it comes to. It comes down to identity, Just knowing who we are and why we're doing what we're doing and who we're doing it for. Bro, I'm showing up every day with a spirit of excellence because I know that I'm operating for Like, I'm doing anything that I do if I'm changing. In prison, when I was changing trash bags as a orderly in a medical department, I was changing those trash bags. I made sure each one of them had the same knot on it. One inch left on the. On the tie end of the knot so it grips the trash can tight so nothing's getting in behind it. Because I'm doing it with a spirit of excellence. Everything I touch, I do it because I'm not doing it for me. And I'm not serving myself. I'm serving the Creator and the small things.
Amen.
And the biggest.
Yeah, bro. But the only reason why you can give identity to things is because you carry it. You can't. You can't give what you don't got. You just. I mean, it's impossible. So I want. I want you, Travis, to break it down a little bit more. Because I know that we all know now because of how you broke it down, that probably one of the most important things is knowing who you are.
Yeah.
Take us deeper into this.
I was just about to say that. Like, here's what you got to know, and here's what I have to remind myself about is, you know, I'm sure there's some dude, young guy right now, trying to figure it out, that maybe is married and he's 28, and he's got living check to check, got some debt, maybe just, you know, doing. Doing all the things. Got a truck, two kids, a car, nice, you know, starter home. And he's like, man, I just. How, like, dude, I come home tired. I just want to pop a top and, you know, lay down on the couch and chill out. But, man, all that stuff sounds really cool, but how the hell do I do that? Well, let me tell you something. We talk Guy Jones, Travis Terrabone, Frank Ortega. We live that life, but we can't do it in our own flesh. Like, my flesh does not be that dude all the time. Like, I don't. I don't. Like, I keep going back to what I said is that discipline can and will become delight. So if I'm going to delight myself in the Lord and keep rejuvenating my relationship with God, like, I gotta dig, dog. Like, I gotta just keep digging. It's like digging a hole to China. Like, just freaking dig. A lot of days it's gonna feel like the dirt is falling back in the hole. Most days is gonna feel like that. Most days you're getting your teeth kicked in. But God created some dudes to press and Some dudes to sit back and chill and some dudes to. To be more than a conqueror. But you know what? It ain't easy. Your flesh is not built that way. You're a sinner. We want to fall short. I want to look at a chick's butt in the gym. You know, I want to do all these things. I want to eat a donut and a Coke. But you know what? I'm trying to maintain fire in my relationship. Well, that ain't going to cut it. So getting up at 5 or 4:30 and freaking eating meal prep food and not touching my phone for the first hour and getting in the word and sticking to a plan and getting in the gym and showing up to my office as a servant leader and making sure that when my phone rings during business hours, if it's my wife, I answer it. And being that guy for my ch, that ain't easy, man. It's just not. But if you think you're going to wake up one day and just be delighted by all that stuff, news flash. Ain't going to happen. Yeah. So you better start loving the disciplines of being a biblical alpha. In order for your spirit to love it, you better beat that dang flesh down so good. So that way when, when the world steamrolls your butt, you have identity, you get back up. And you don't, you just pick up where you left off. I'm a bold servant leader. I'm a legacy builder. I'm a freaking cultivator. I'm a creator. Because the world is going to run you over every single day. And the closer you grow to the Lord, here comes the enemy. Yeah, he don't want that. He don't want fire in your bedroom. He don't want none of that. And I used to find my fire elsewhere, man. I was a POS When I had no identity because I wasn't disciplined, I.
Didn'T delight in any.
Where did you find your fire, Travis?
What's that?
Can you share with us where you found your fire before? Because I think some men might be able to relate and be like, oh snap, that's what I'm running to right now, to find my fire.
When you don't know what being loved. Okay, let me back up. So.
Well, I like where you're going there though. I like where you were going there.
So some people, some people fall to. To drugs. Some people fall to alcohol. Some people fall to money. You got to know how to be loved by another man before you can really be in the right way. That might Sound crazy to some people, but some people hear audible voices from God. I hear God speaking to me through other men of God.
Yeah.
You know, you could walk into an auditorium and speak, sing or perform in front of a hundred thousand. And if you took your time and you paid attention, you could see a hundred thousand. But there's a hundred and thousand and one person in the room and you can't see you. So when I walk into a room, I don't see me. You know how I believe in my identity from Frank Ortega, from Guy Jones. And so when you guys love on me, I don't need to get it in the bedroom of another woman or anything like that. And so when you were seeking drugs and alcohol and stuff like that to numb the pain, you could do the same thing with sex, with promiscuous sex, with adultery and all that. I was looking to be loved, revered and honored. Even though it was only for 3 seconds or 10 seconds, it's never worth it. But I was seeking just reverence and honor and. And love. And I was delighting myself in the failures of my flesh and living in resentment because I never had another man love me and show me who I was and speak identity into me. And so I would just find it wherever I could. And it was typically, I didn't care if I was married, dating, single. Somebody showed me a little bit of attention. I'm in. Because I didn't feel that naturally. I was never taught to feel that way as a kid. I got a 10 year old son. Dude, I love on that guy. I will kiss him on his lips till he is out of high school. Because if I will love on him, he'll never seek it where he shouldn't.
Bro, that's such a freaking good point, bro. And it's so true because there was a day where I was about to act out on my horny side. And I remember you shot me and Guy Jones a text. It was like the moment of. And then all of a sudden we get on this little three way FaceTime, right? And we connected and we got to pray for another one of our brothers, right? And we were just pouring out. And what I left that phone call, I left so connected that I wasn't trying to flee and find it somewhere that's easy again to connect for. You know, I'm not going to say three, 10 seconds, you know, connect for some minutes. But it's because it's. Honestly, brother, what we're looking for is intimacy and connection. But I can't love you if you don't emotionally get naked in front of me if you don't put the armor flipping down, bro. Because if. If you keep that armor up and you act like you're perfect, you act like your crap don't stink, you act like all this stuff, then you're. You don't get that love that I give you. Your armor receives that love. And that's why we go around feeling like we're alone, bro. Like, I was married and I felt like I was alone. Why? Because I was armored up the entire time, bro. She didn't have a chance to love me. I didn't give her a chance to love me because I wouldn't put my armor down. Same thing with my spiritual father of the time. I. I couldn't put my armor down. How could I? Whenever I did that with my natural father, it backfired on me. So I just carried the same patterns moving forward. And guess what? The more that we stop, man, it's almost like this is hitting me right now. If we don't learn to be vulnerable, we rob ourselves of the opportunity of stepping into true identity. Because I feel like identity is cultivated through intimacy. Like, that's what I feel like. I'm hearing you say, Travis, what about. What are you getting out of this guy? What are your thoughts on this, bro?
If you tell yourself a lie over and over and over again, you're going to believe that lie.
That's Hitler.
It's just.
That lie will become who you are. So you better be putting in your. Yourself who God called you to be. And I see potential in people. That's a. That's one of my greatest strengths is I see potential. So I don't call people. I do call them sauce. You know, I'll. You know. But I'm. I'm like, that's not who you. That's how you're showing up. You're showing up at something that you're not really. You love your family. I know that about you. And you'll. You'll work hard for your family. Really, you're got one of the best hearts. I'll just call people higher. And that's what we're built to do. Iron does sharpen iron. So I'm thankful that because all the employees that I have, I call them higher, but they don't call me higher because they see me at a place to where I'm at the top. And everybody's so caught up in their own life, and they don't. Not a lot of people have the ability to look outside of themselves and be present. So, you know, it's our job as men. And then back to what Travis said. A lot of his struggles came from not having a man, truly love him and call him to who he was, who he's supposed to be, because he didn't have a great relationship with his father. Well, if you look in the prison system, the statistics are most people in prison have one parent at the house and typically it's a mom or a grandma. And that's just what it is. And they all want attention. Everybody in there wants their, they're hungry for somebody to notice them attention. So they do all this acting out and chaotic behavior and it becomes, it comes back to identity. So even before I knew this, I knew that, hey, if I believe something about myself and I really believe it, I'm going to play up to what I believe in. So when you have men that'll honor other men, honor unlocks everything. So when I tell Travis, man, Travis, you are solid, man, and you have more influence in your sphere than you know you have. And when you talk, man, people listen. And you're the production that you do on your business stuff is bar none, excellent. And I just tell Travis, like, I feel like you're growing in influence right now. And I notice all the hard work you're putting in and the grinding you're putting in. And I see the difference. And like, you know, and I don't have, I don't talk to Travis every single day like I talk to Frank Ortega. So Frank gets even more of the smoke constantly. And that's just words of affirmation. And that's not even a strong point of mine. And that's not even the way I really show love. But I've learned that, man, just words of affirmation. Because the one thing I know about me is my stepdad told me, out of all my brothers, I'm the hardest working one guy. You're the hardest worker out of all my sons.
You're the.
And I was the youngest one. Now I'm the. Anywhere I've ever worked, I've been the hardest worker because he told me that enough that even when I didn't believe it, I started believing it. And then I started wearing those shoes and then I wore those shoes out and got a bigger set of shoes. So it's what, what are we putting, what seeds are we putting in these men? And it's not lying. You see things, you see the potential. Just calm to their potential. Don't call them to how they're showing up in the natural call them to how they can show up with you pouring seeds into their life.
Bro, that's so good. Bro, that's so good. It's true. You can speak identity into people.
Oh, no doubt. Like listening to. I've heard Guy talk about that about in that year, I probably heard Guy tell the story about his stepdad telling him he was the hardest worker 20 times. Never gets old. Because it's fruit of my message. What if you're raising daughters, Bro, I got a. I got a daughter that's. And I'm trying not to get emotional saying this, but I got a daughter that's about to be 18 and about to graduate. And this happened fast, dog. Like. And the whole time I'm raising her, I. I would say the majority of the time I was raising her, I didn't know what the hell I was doing. But I'm an overcomer. I'm somebody who just shows up. I'm a. I'm a person who objects passivity. I accept responsibility. I'm a courageous leader. Well, as she's approaching 8 now, I'm a lot of stuff that the world would call crap too. Like, I can. I'm so passionate. Like, I could easily become tyrannical in a situation. Like, I'll cut dudes heads off in a second. And not meaning that's my flesh. And so she is becoming the best parts of me. She wants to follow in my footsteps and lead our business and become an entrepreneur. That's a. That's God's work, man. I did not do that because the majority of her life, I was not who I wanted her to become. And so it's a. What Guy is saying about his dad, his stepdad, telling him he was the hardest worker, man. Those words matter, those actions matter. Every little detail matters. And if the day. On the day that you quit and the day you give up, you reap what you sow. Like, my. My daughter is going to become the best version of me because I'm an overcomer. Yeah. And because that. The things that I say to her matter. She walks in a room, she's a leader. And I didn't do that. My flesh would have led her astray. God did that. And so the things that I'm watching her do and say now, listening to Guy talk about his stepdad, telling man, it matters. When she's 35 and on a podcast, hopefully telling other girls or women how to find a biblical alpha, I hope that she gets to say, my dad said this about me and I believed it. Because he was a man of God, you know. So I, I honor you for. Never stop telling that story, guy. Never stop telling that story.
Amen. Hey, and that's, that's one way I start when I go into speaking events because I want people to get that, hey, let's coach. From a place of who you're called to be versus how you're showed up. It's okay to like use the way somebody's showing up and be like, hey, brother, listen, it's hard to get up at 4:30 in the morning, but it's hard to sleep in at 10 to 10 or 12 in the morning, man. It's hard to, to be rich, but it's hard to be broke. It's hard to go to the gym and be fit. And it's hard to be fat and sloppy. Pick your hard, bro. It's, that's one way you can say it, but then you can also say, hey, brother. And you can speak enough life into people because nobody's telling people that, that people think it's a weakness to tell other people who, who they are and to speak life. That's not a weakness, bro. Man, I am nothing without the Master Houstons, the Lee Laxton, the Darren Dun have let me pour into them. I'm nothing without those dudes. Those dudes help complete me.
So.
And I got 50 dudes that I can say, man, I'm nothing with. And even though a lot of it's me pouring into them, man, when me and Frank were running our 100 mile race and we were encouraging other people, bro, we were getting a second wind stopping and encouraging a person that's in bad shape. And we're in bad shape. We're, we're like 50, 60 miles in, but we'd get a second win from being able to encourage other people. And it's like that in life, man. You encourage enough people, you help enough people get there, you're gonna get there, bro. So that's why presence is so important. Being present. Hey, man, nothing going on in your phone is that important. Nothing going on in Facebook is that important. Nothing going on in Instagram is that important, man. Be present with the people you're with. You don't know when the last chance you're gonna see him is gonna be. Spend that extra moment that's uncomfortable. Get used to being uncomfortable to where that becomes comfortable.
Amen, bro. Absolutely. I think that's how real men start to show up, man. I feel like right now we're in a season. I'm sure you Guys, notice it too, where it's like, oh, guy, your camera went out, bro.
That's cool. Keep it rocking.
Okay, awesome. I'm gonna do. I'm gonna do this real quick, but I'm gonna get our boy Terrebone on here. There we go. Let me know when you fix that camera. Okay, guy, that camera.
That camera's done.
Hey, too much smoke. Hey, go over to. Go over to the ECAMM live and switch over to your webcam. So then that way it pulls you up on the show screen like it is right now. But, no, I'm sure you guys have noticed this, Travis. And I'm curious, bro, because I want to hear a little bit about this. And, bro, we're gonna have to get you on for, like, a lot more episodes.
Leslie and I are gonna come on. Yeah, Leslie and I are gonna come on.
Come on. Because we want to dive into, like, you know, we talked about emotional intimacy, but we want to get into the other intimacy stuff too, right? We want to cover both the holy and horny topics. But right now, something that I'm noticing a lot in men, bro, is that there's this huge men's mental health movement, which I love, but it seems like a lot of men are leveraging it to just soak in it. Like, it. It's almost like, oh, because they're talking about it. Like, I just want to talk about it, but I don't really want to do anything to change it. And it's almost like a just, oh, poor me, poor me, poor me mentality instead of like, hey, let me actually open up so that surgery can commence on my heart. It's really just like, look at my wound and, like, screaming and just bawling your eyes about it. And I feel like a biblical alpha does that, but they don't stay there. They don't stay there. It was like Jesus, bro, whenever God was like, hey, you got to go to the cross, and Jesus was like, I don't want to do this, man. He was just really struggling with it, but then he went out, and he did it right. So I'm curious with you, brother, as a. As a dude who's gone through massive heartbreak in divorce and then now navigating life, like, moving forward, bro, how are you able to. To become that man? That's like, not just, okay, these are my issues. These are my issues, because I believe everyone can become that, man. I really do. A lot of people say, hey, some people don't. Just don't have it. I'm like, no, no, they Just haven't curated it yet. Everyone's got it. God didn't make a failure. God made all winners. It's just, are we practicing it right? So I'm curious about that, brother.
I'm gonna explain it in a little different way, a scientific way. But before I say it, I want to set a little context. Like, so my ex wife and I and her husband, we have a great relationship. I was on the phone with her before I. I got here and walked him off and set this up. Just venting to her about my stepdaughter. And am I looking at this the right way? Because she knows me undressed physically, mentally and spiritually. And the reason that relationship was able to happen was because I was able and empowered through my relationship with God to say my fault. And so. And I'm sorry. Okay, so I want you to think about like my oldest daughter again. I talked about it earlier, but she has something called pcos. And I didn't understand what PCOS was and I'll probably screw this up. But when the doctor explained it to me, I began, I started thinking about it from a worldview and even from a biblical worldview. He was explaining that it's almost like she was insulin resistant in her uterus. And so there is insulin present for this disease, but the cell has like a force field around it. So insulin is there, but it can't penetrate the cell. So think about the world we live in and talking about guys who embrace, you know, embrace, who don't embrace the suck, and then they're like victim mentality and can't get out of their own way. Well, people who build a relationship, men who build a relationship with God, they get that they build up that force field around their spirit and there's betas and blame and weakness. It's all around me. But God's created this force field where it can't penetrate. I'm around it, you're around it, Frank Guy, you're around the crap. But I'm not going to allow it to penetrate. And so when you begin to realize that everything in life that has gone wrong and right is your fault, you can begin to allow God to build that force field. And so that's where I feel like I'm at. I'm at like, I see, I see it like men's mental health starts with people like Guy Jones saying, hey man, I'm not gonna let you even love on me, speak life into me. I don't even know that I even want you to talk to me without you telling Me your testimony?
Yeah.
First off, I'm not gonna respect you. Not that you're not respectable, but I just don't have time for that. There's surface level relationships floating all around this world. You turn on the tv, bro, it's dudes blaming everybody else. I don't care. I'm a conservative. I'm going to vote for Trump. I did vote for Trump. But even those conservatives are, like, watching the politics, saying, man, what's going to happen in November? Because I got this business and I'm worried about my retirement and my 401k, man. Where's your force field, dog? Like, you. You that soft, why don't you get in a room with some other guys, lead with vulnerability, and you'll receive honor. And. And. And that will steward that. That force field. Like, man, that Goggins book. You can't hurt me. Like, we're all around it, Frank.
It's really good.
Pacification of America is everywhere, dog. How soft is your force field? My flesh is soft. My flesh is weak as hell. But that force field around me that I built with my identity in Christ, that stuff can't hurt me, you know? Does that make sense, what I just said? Like, I'm. I don't even know if that even makes sense. Might sound crazy to some people, but to me, that's like, I'm not. I'm no different than everybody else. I want to be a beta sometimes, but I've seen the fruit of being a beta, and I don't want that damn fruit. Hey, so I'm gonna just.
Unless it means being baby spoon sometimes, bro.
I like being baby spoon.
Come on, man.
See?
Guy Jones. Did you hear that?
Yeah.
You'll never get me to believe in a baby spoon.
Listen, we are going to shoot Holy and Horny. No, no, no, no, no. We're gonna shoot a holy podcast and I will get my five years. Five years. Five years. There's gonna be a smoking hot blonde sitting on the side of you, and she's gonna look at you and say, you don't like being baby Spoon. Are you gonna say that on camera? I promise you it's gonna happen.
Amen. That's true. Alphas can admit it, bro.
I'm gonna say, don't lie, girl. Who's your daddy? You daddy.
Hey, no, Travis, that makes a hundred percent sense, bro. And that's why we can believe when you have an identity in Christ. And Guy, I want you to hit on this too, bro. Like, it sucks that we can't see you right now. Man, but guy's still here.
Yeah, if.
If you're watching the. The video, guy is still here. But, bro, it makes so much sense, because that's the only reason why we can actually buy into the Bible verse that says, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. In other words, nothing's going to pierce that. Whatever little thing that you said that you've created, right? Yeah, that force field. Nothing's going to pierce it because I now know who I am, bro. It's like, for me, my divorce was. Was literally a catapult into creating this deep belief that, dude, nothing can take me out. And it's not because of Frank Ortega. It's not because of who I am. It's because I know whose I am. And then I take it even deeper. I'm like, not only do I know whose I am, but I also know who he is, and he is good. And if I'm a. I'm a son of a good father, then it doesn't matter what's going on around me. Nothing bad is going to happen to me. I will release my little girl as much as I need to release her for her to gain experience, but I will not allow something who horrific to happen to her. If I have control in it, and if she makes certain decisions that lead to something bad, guess what? It is my duty as her daddy to help her turn that thing around for her good. By speaking identity, by speaking the word of God. If I'm gonna do that, how much more is my father gonna do that? And so when we walk in that identity, you're right, bro. You create this force field of just like, you can't stop me. And I believe that that's what is required to be a biblical Alpha. That's what I just wrote about the past two days. You want to be a biblical Alpha? You've got to know that you have a good father and that God is a good father. Because then you'll start moving in faith and abundance. Betas move in fear and scarcity. That's. That's just how. That's just how it rocks, right? But when, you know, I got this force field around me thanks to the blood of Jesus, thanks to God my father. Not just God the Creator, not just the King of king and the Lord of Lords, but God, my daddy. When you know that, man, there's a force field that gets wrapped around you that first of all contains blessing, and it nurtures you, and it has everything in there that you need to be able to go from glory to glory and to be the head and not the tail. And nothing is going to be able to penetrate that, bro. So, no, 100% that made sense.
And I'll hit on that just a little bit. So last night it was about 45 degrees, which is cold in the floor in Florida. And I told one of my guys, he said, man, I'm. I'm hitting the gym. I'm gonna catch you. And I said, like hell you're gonna catch me, bro. I'm hitting them trails tonight. And I said, I'm doing 10, 10K in the, in them woods tonight. And I got out there, and the track is three miles that cuts through these woods. And every time I'm out there, I see a bunch of wildlife and of all kinds of shapes and sizes, but I've got a lot of experience in the woods and, and, but night's a little bit different. And I ran my first three miles last night with my dog, Girl Jones, and that's my dog's name. She's a female Belgian Malawa, and she is a savage animal. And so we ran our first three laps, got back the truck, and it's cold, and I'm like, man, I could just jump in this truck and head to the house. I got this sweet new home, and I'm kind of missing the home right now. And I could jump back in here. I'm hungry. I hadn't eaten anything. I'm like. But no, I told Lee Lax and I was going to run that 10k, and that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to be a man of my word and pay my price. And so I got back out there and it's getting eerie now because my light, my light went out. I got one light that's got a little bit of dimness. I'm like, this thing ain't got much life life in it right now. But then I started thinking, like, I always think. I'm like, bro, I'm the baddest thing smoking out here in these woods. And Girl Jones is the baddest thing smoking out here in these woods. And if some. A bear comes up on us and David, a little shepherd boy gas the bear out. Guy Jones is gonna do damage to any bear. I'm gonna rip the top jaw all bare handed. That bear tonight, if it gets some and not. Am I not just saying that? That's how I feel in my heart, so. And I know, I feel that confidence because I know God's with me. And I know God got got me. I got in A mess with two gangs while I was in, and both times God seen me through, I've gotten in some fights with some dudes that by all means, by size, strength, and ability, they should have been able to to manhandle Guy Jones. And I smoked him down. And now I'll say in the name of Jesus, although I have not always been a believer when I've smoked people down. But that being said, God built me for such a time as this. The state that the world's in, the state that we're in, I'm built for such a time as this. I'm a warrior for the kingdom. So anything out in them woods that wants the smoke can get the smoke. And nobody else is out here paying their price at this time. So when I'm running through them woods saying rock Gazot at the top of my lungs, sounding like a crazy man, it is. It's probably because I'm. I am a crazy man. Meaning that I think a little bit differently than you think. You call it crazy? I just say, check the fruit out.
Come on, man of God. It's funny, too, because as soon as God called me last night, he's like, man, I'm about to go get these miles with these bears. And I was like, bro, those bears about to be terrified that you're in that forest, baby. But it all comes back to identity. Hey, we got to wrap this up because our brother Travis Terrebones gotta roll out. But there's gonna be a sequel. There's gonna be. What's the. The third one? Whatever. There's gonna be a third one.
Trilogy.
Yeah, there's gonna be a lot of these. A lot of these.
I think we need to get his wife on here and then let people call in live and ask him a tough questions is what I think we need to do. Frank Ortega.
Oh, we can make that happen easily.
I want to. And I want her to get on here because I want. I want the smoke. Like, she'll call me out, so I don't want to say anything that she won't back up. So I'm. I'm down.
Hey, Travis. Terrible. That's why you're here, bro, because you always want the smoke, man.
That.
I want to wrap up this. I want to wrap this up by saying. And anytime I do a podcast, I got a podcast myself. Got a couple of prime movers on with me right now. But I always want to make sure that if I got somebody who's been listening for an hour and 13 minutes, that's what this Recording is telling me we've been on. Look at this dog, bro. And, and you're looking for a word. Hey, listen, man, there's nobody. So don't assume that it's three dudes talking that have everything figured out.
Yes, thank you.
We do this to. I think that Jesus loved in grace and truth, right? So what I want to do is lead with truth, because that's what the world is lacking. And then I want to rub on that with a lot of grace. So there are days when I fail and fall short in my marriage, in my fatherhood, in my entrepreneurship, in my leadership, man. Building a force field so that that doesn't drag you down. How it starts today is discipline. Discipline conquering. Your flesh is going to turn into a desire, and that desire will turn into delight. I promise you. I am not perfect. I, I, bro, I, I eat bad foods, I think bad thoughts. Some days I, I don't show up as a leader. Some, some days I raise my voice at my kids. Some days I pop off on my wife, bro, it's going to happen. We're sinners. Yes. Don't think that this is about perfection. This is about process. And so wherever you are right now, whoever you are, I don't ever want my words to come off as arrogant, egotistical, or anything, because I can speak this way because I know where I came from, I know where I'm headed, and I know who I am. But it wasn't always like that, man. I had to beat myself down into submission, find someone to submit to. In, in the earth, there is someone above that you need to submit to. And you will have a woman that will submit to you. And we'll talk about how to, how to steward that submission in the next episode.
Man, that's why I love you. Travis Terrebone. Hey, brother. Man, we just want to honor you and thank you so much for being here, guys. That's one of my best friends right there. I got like, my two best friends on this podcast. It's just so awesome. And this is honestly what our conversations sound like every single day, day. So you, you literally just got to listen. We just met on what, Tuesday? And we, we were supposed to have like a little 30 minute ciao. And next, you know, I'm like, it's an hour and 15 minutes. I'm like, I gotta hop out into a sales call, y'.
All.
Like, I gotta roll. And so, man, thank you guys for tuning in to the Holy and Horny podcast. Make sure that you share this with any man you know right now that's just really struggling with identity. Share it with a friend that can just be encouraged. And I don't even have to say this, but I'm gonna say it anyways. Like, what Travis said is so true. We're not men that think we got it all together. You can listen to our last four episodes and see clearly that me and Guy Jones don't got it together. Right? And so just know that we're just a bunch of men that aren't here to compete with you, but we're here to help complete you. Right? And that's because we know that you're going to complete us as well, because we need the full body of Christ. So make sure you share this with people that you love. Subscribe to the podcast, follow us on Instagram. If you got any questions, feel free to send them to us on Instagram. And also we're going to drop down in the description everything that you need to be able to follow Travis Terrebone and we will see you guys on the next episode. I love the Lord and I love people that need the Lord.
I'm just tired of being fake. And if I gotta be fake and I can't be real, the Bible says, confess your sin to one another. I love you. I honor you, man. You are like your fruit of the ministry, man.
