Prison Love

The Lord. And I love people that need the Lord.

I'm just tired of being fake. And if I gotta be fake and I can't be real, the Bible says, confess your sin to one another. I love you. I honor you, man. You are like your fruit of the ministry, man.

Holy and Horny, man. We're back. We're back.

Holy Horny is back. And it's such an honor to be able to have one of my best friends in the world, somebody that has not just been there for me when things are good and we're thriving, but he's been there with me at the very most bottom, rock bottom of my life. Master Houston.

Oh, I thought you were talking about me for a second.

Hey, you're. You're with me thick and thin, too, brother.

What's up, Master?

What's going on?

Hey, hey, Remember the microphone, Master, Remember the microphone?

Got it, Got it.

Yeah, yeah. Hey, so today's episode is gonna be so sick, man. We actually just got back. I just got back from Florida, and me, Guy, a lot of our friends went out and we did some prison ministry, which was awesome. It's a whole God story in and of its own, which, by the way, bro, we still gotta do like. Like, Master, I think you would agree that it would be cool to do an episode just with God stories, like, just talking about God stories that we've seen happen, because doing prison ministry was a God story, like, even getting in there. But it birthed an idea in us to do an episode like this. So you want to tell them what we're going to be talking about, Guy?

Yeah. So essentially, I'm going to be getting a tattoo. Master came over to give me a tattoo, and he's incredible artist, and he. He acquired these skills in. In a special place, and maybe he'll share that with y'.

All.

But the theme of this episode was prison love, because we were just in the prison, and I'm so fresh from prison, I still smell like state food sometimes, I think. But. But, man, it wasn't 10 minutes in, and I was already seeing dudes that I've done time with. And not just one, not just two, but I saw actually three dudes that I had done a significant amount of time with, which was pretty awesome. At a different institution than I've ever been at. Yeah, bro.

It was kind of surreal, honestly. Like, as soon as we walked in and you were like, oh, yeah, there's. There's blank and there's blink. And I was like, what the heck, bro? It made it so Real that you actually were there for like 12 years. And bro, I'm so excited for this episode because I want to hear. I want to hear some of this. Here's the thing, y'. All, everyone that's listening right now, like, prison is what you think times a hundred. That's what I realized, like, really, really quickly is that, man, it is not. It's not what you would think. It's so much more than that, intensity wise. But it sounds like it's so much more than that, love wise. Because the dudes that are in there, not all of them are holy, but all of them are horny, bro.

Yeah, you better believe that, man. God made us. He gave us the ability to love and desire a significant other, especially as men that are well rested and fit. And the one thing, when you take away everything, the one thing man misses the most is a female.

Yeah, I mean, bro, I can imagine. I can imagine. So, so start us off then, guy with the experience of what it's like going from having just a normal relationship with women, I guess you could say, for like, lack of better words, to then having a relationship where, dude, you are. You're not seeing them often. And the ones that you are seeing might not be the prettiest. Hello.

Yeah. Well, I will tell you, the longer you're in, the prettier they look.

Is that true, master?

Yeah, I can vouch for that. I can definitely vouch for that.

So, yeah, you know, I. I was engaged when I went in and. And I'll tell you, the one thing I thought about the most was experiences that I had on dates or hanging out with women. And how I wish I would have maybe capitalized more on that or dropped what I was doing on a Tuesday or Monday night and gone and took that girl out on a date. Those are things you never get back, you know, you don't really regret the things you've done as much as the things that you didn't do.

Yeah, I can imagine, bro.

It's.

It's like the regret hits you immediately, huh?

Right? And then it's like, man, all those times that you drop the ball on the one girl or the one specific girl, because there's. Everybody has kind of like one girl. I feel like that they. That was right for them, but maybe they screwed it up or didn't show up, right? Or just being young. But that escalates when you're locked up because she comes so much bigger in your mind. You're like, man, I missed that girl.

You're talking. You're talking about the great white buffalo, man. The one that got away.

The one that got away. Master had one that got away. I used to hear him talk about her all the time.

I did.

Oh, yeah, Tell us about that, Master.

Yeah, when I was out in the free world, there was this girl. Her name was Jasmine. Her name was Jasmine. She was my high school sweetheart, kind of sort of. But it's like, I didn't give her my full self. Like, we used to go on dates. We were young still, you know, that they call it.

Puppy love.

Yeah, it was like, something like that. And I didn't give it my all at all. Like, I didn't give her my full self.

And essentially, Master was messed up about this girl. So, you know, and. And that's what I said. When you're in there and you're away from women, you think about the one that got away. And it's kind of like that out here with these dudes. And that's why, you know, they use it as an excuse to move forward, because a lot of them are just scared of being uncomfortable. But they always looking back in the past at the one that got away. Now Masters moved forward, and he's had a son and has a beautiful wife, three kids. And he probably doesn't think about her as much. Does she ever cross your mind?

I was just about to say I don't think about it at all now that I'm out, but when I was behind those gates, oh, my goodness, every night, every day is just like, dang.

Man, he was sick.

I dropped the ball.

Hey, you dropped the ball so you could get a better ball, bro.

Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

Isn't it funny, though, that when you get locked up, it's like you think that the great white buffalo is the one that got away. But when you're in the free world, things change.

Buffaloes running everywhere.

Yeah, it's like a herd, a stampede of buffalo everywhere.

And it's hard to get. It's hard to get pinned down. Like, you don't want to be pinned down in there. You just want somebody to ride with you, somebody to talk through this time with. And you'll even settle for some looks. You'll drop down, you'll put on. Essentially, you'll put on some goggles just for the attention.

What do you mean? You'll put on some goggles?

Meaning things. Will you sacrifice your expectations of somebody's looks for feminine attention? And all you want to do is talk. That's all you really can do. So you want to hear all about everything.

Oh, that's amazing, bro. That's amazing. I love how things just shift. It's funny because this is something that probably everybody wonders. When someone goes to prison, it's like, dude, how do they handle it? And I know one of the number one things that dudes always think are like, how many straight guys go into prison and remain straight? Because. Because of what you just said, Access, right? Which then I guess kind of really reveals to you if they were really straight or not straight. And then that opens up a whole nother conversation of, well, does that mean you are born gay? Or can you choose gayness?

Oh, and. And this is a good topic. You sound like you've been to prison, because prison is like a 247 gay pride festival.

Hey, I have never been to prison. I ain't gay, okay? The only reason why I know that is because of one of your stories that I want you to share. Where you got transferred and then the right red light came on, okay?

So, yeah, essentially I was at a state prison or a private prison, which was sweet. It had air conditioning, it had more channels, had a little gym. Other places didn't have a gym, had more education. And. And due to a kind of relationship that I was form forming in the medical department with a specific nurse and her significant other at the time, an officer, a lieutenant, due to that situation, I got transferred. And I'm like, man, leaving a really sweet spot. And I'm headed to the wild, wild West.

Dang, bro. And so what happened when you got to the wild, wild west?

So when I got to the wild, wild west, it was a lot different. And there's pros and cons to everything, right? But when you go to a prison and it's in the middle of nowhere, and it's probably the only means of revenue in a town, and a lot of vehicles have rims on them, just know that these officers are shaking the bomb.

What is shaking the bomb mean, bro?

Essentially, that means they're finding alternative ways to make money outside of their Department of Corrections salary. So through the inmates. So I get to Jefferson, and it is the wild, wild west for real. And there's a lot of stuff that I got access to if I want access to that I didn't have access to before, like cell phones, and they're just little flip phones. And. And definitely a lot of drugs at this institution. A lot of homemade wine, which we call buck. A lot of everything, right? So it's just a different world. And I'm like, where am I?

And the Heck, bro.

Yeah.

How.

Hold up. Take me to Buck. What is. What is Buck? I know it's homemade wine, but how do you guys make. Do y' all make the homemade wine?

Yeah. So it's essentially alcohol is made out of yeast, and it ferments. So we utilize fruits and breads. Fruits. And you let these things break down, they release a chemical. And as long as you're feeding them sugar, that they're gonna ferment. And what they do is you gotta let the oxygen out of them. Burp them. Yeah, you're burping the wand, essentially. And. And it may make. It may take a month or two months to make a batch. The longer it takes, the drunker you're going to get. The longer it takes, the less bubble guts you're going to get, too. Hold up.

So you guys are in prison becoming. I'm imagining, like, Breaking Bad. You guys are becoming yalls own scientists, Yalls own mixologists. And y' all are just, like, getting plastered off Skittles, bread and fruit.

Hey, man, there is so many creative minds in that place. Europe. They're so creative in there.

That's what I mean, bro. I'm. I'm assuming. I'm assuming. And Master, isn't that where you started doing art, bro?

Yes, sir. Matter of fact, I was in the county jail, and I used to just draw. I would write my girl a letter at the time, but I would draw her something with it. A Winnie the Pooh or something like that. Some guy came in from a transfer and was drawing portraits, and it blew me away. I had never seen anything like it. And I told myself, I'm gonna do that, and surely. But slowly, I managed to find out everything I needed to know about portraits and how to draw them. And just through time.

Master's an incredible artist, and. And that was his thing, is portraits and. And let. Let him get a pencil and. And do pencil art. And it's. It's off the chain. But now, obviously, that's another hustle for him because he does tattoos out here. So incredibly cool.

That's amazing, man. That's amazing. So you guys went in there and started developing different skill sets. All I'm gonna say, man, is, guy, I want you to start making some homemade buck so that the next time I go to Florida and we film an episode there, we can. We can buck taste instead of wine. Taste.

I wouldn't trust me on the buck, brother. You know, that's. That's not my expertise. And these people out here, they got it down to such A science that, you know, you don't deal with a lot of the. The stuff that we deal with in there. It's just harsh. So. But it is.

That's.

That is interesting. I mean, everything's pretty interesting. Like, I'm getting tattooed right now. If I was getting tattooed in there, which I got both of my legs done, my back done, my chest done, if I was. And I mean full p. But if I was getting tattooed in there right now, it would be with one needle, a bread tie sharpened, and it would be much more time consuming. Right here, master's got a shade bar with a bunch of needles, so it fills in, you know, much quicker.

Yeah, hold up. You just described what was used to, like, tattoo in there. How. How is it used that way? Like, specifically, what would the setup like, give? Give us a visual with your words of what the setup would look like to even begin to tattoo. And then after that, I want to ask another question about tattooing in prison.

Okay? So when you're tattooing, it's important to have a lookout man, and when I say a lookout man, somebody had to make sure the officers are not coming in because it's illegal to get tattooed. So. And I spent some box time on a tattoo, so I understand very well how legal it is. So. So you want to go Even in prison, bro?

Even in prison, there's a price to pay for a tattoo, huh?

There's a price to pay, and you're not paying the same price financially. So I might be getting this tattoo right here for 10 soups and four mackerels. Right here would cover this. This tattoo.

And a book of stamps.

And a book of stamps.

Hold up. What's. What's 10 suits and macros?

Mackerel, like, so packs of fish or 10. Raymond noodle soup. So that's currency and where we were doing time or everywhere in the state of Florida.

Got it. But. But if your lookout guy sucked and you got caught, you paid those plus time in the box?

Yeah, if you get caught 30 days in the box, sometimes they'll give you a walk in doctor, which means you'll lose your game time, your good time. You'll lose some of that, and they'll keep you on the compound. Depending on how filled the box is, they want to leave room for people stabbing people and people. Inmates that are beating people up. They want to. They want to. To make sure they got room for those guys specifically. So it's not as major as a doctor as, like, a tattoo or as, like, a battery or battery on an Officer.

Dang, man. Okay, so take me back to what's the setup look like? So you got your lookout guy, and then the ingredients to make the gun, which I'm assuming isn't even really a gun, right? Tattoo gun.

Really. They used to have an electric razor. You know what? A electric shaver. They would compartmentalize, like, take it apart, use the motor. The things that spins, hook two wires to it. Some use a battery pack with four batteries hooked to it. The needles were the spring that the staple.

So either a spring or a bread tie they could use as needles. Yeah, so they got multiple. Multiple needles, but. But either way, they're gonna straighten that stuff out, sharpen it up, and essentially, you got a homemade gun.

And now with the ink, they would take hair grease, Murray's hair grease, burn it, because it's an oil. It's grease. And it would leave a black soot on the surface. They would scrape that off, put it in a jug, get alcohol some type of way, but it would get alcohol. You have to cook it. Hot water, shake it, hot water, shake it, and cook the. Cook the ink.

What the heck, bro. Bro. That is insane, man. No wonder it's so expensive to get a tattoo in prison. You got to go through, like, a month's process just to come up with, like, the ink and the needle.

Everybody has their own job. Everybody has a job, a part of that. You have people that make ink. You have the tattoo artist. You have people like me that I didn't want to get in any more trouble, so I didn't tattoo in there, but I drew a lot of patterns. You had people that had the alcohol pads. Like, everybody had a specific job and play in a. Play their own part in this tattoo world, bro.

It's like a business, dog. Y' all had the visionary, Y' all had the integrator. Y' all had the marketing, sales operations, like, everything covered.

Well, essentially, everybody needs purpose in life. So this is a little piece of people's purpose to give them a. It provides a value. Therefore, they're getting, you know, paid. They're not having to ask their people to send money in, and it gives them a sense of purpose. So just like out here, we need something to strive for in there. The little things are purposeful.

Dang, man. That is so wild. Okay, so when the tattoo gun is going, the motor is the motor going in circles instead of up and down.

Master.

The way the way the motor work is it spins the shape, the razor, but it actually goes up and down. So wow. When they tie the needle to the motor, it works just as these guns work back and forth, back and forth.

That's crazy. And you can't get, like. I mean, you probably could get poisoning, but. Because what you're taking is. You're taking, like, soot and making that into ink.

Yes, Right.

But, you know, essentially, it's. It's kind of like the ink we're using right here. It sticks. Well, you know, ink is ink. It's foreign to your body, and too much of it, your body will start to reject. But, man, I would just do two to four hour sessions, and I would do them twice a week. And, man, I came across some really good artists. And. And when I did come, and I'm so picky, man, but when I did come across the right artists, I just let them run it. I'm like, when I get out, I'm not going to have time to be getting all these tattoos. Why? I got a lot of free time. Let me go ahead and get this over with now.

So, bro. And you got it over with, bro. You've got, like, your full chest, your arms, your back, your leg. You got what. What all did you get done in there? I think you said you got your back, your leg, and your chest.

Yeah, So I got 60 hours in my back, which is a gladiator scene out of, you know, the. The Roman time. And. And essentially, I felt like a gladiator. I mean, I was taken away from everything that I knew in life and. And put in the jungle and away from my family and people that I love the most. And. And essentially, you're. You're either gonna eat or you're gonna get a. You better choose. You're either a predator or a prey. And I went in there like, ready to rock.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard some stories, bro. So your forte was in tattooing, but in prison, what was your forte, guy?

Well, my. My forte was a smarter play. So essentially I liked to run a store. So since I was getting money regularly, I wouldn't. I wouldn't eat up all my canteen or. Or spend all my money, but I would stockpile it. And then people that weren't getting money that got it once a month, that weren't good stewards, I would. I would loan them stuff out at an interest rate. So I was the bank, essentially. And at one point, that was. That was my business of choice.

Let's go, man. All right. Hey, I want to get into some prison stories, man.

I'd love to. We'll take you wherever you want. To go full transparency.

Yeah, I want to go into. Bro, I just. You never finished the red light story, bro. When the red light came on and you got moved to that other prison, what you.

Oh, yeah, so. So I left Bay Correctional, the private institution, went to Jefferson. Wild, wild west. They actually call it Chocolate City. Why they call it Chocolate City? Master Houston, I don't know what is Chocolate City? Okay, so essentially, Chocolate City is a bunch of black females. So they're saying, yeah, Chocolate City, you want to go to Jefferson because it's got all those smoking hot black females. Oh, really?

Like the officers?

Yeah, yeah, well, that, that's the, you know, around the state they're saying, man. And Jefferson really was mostly female officers and 75 or 85 black. So that's why they called it Chocolate City. It was off the chain.

It was off the chain. All right, bro, so tell us then, what happened? Don't make me say it. You get into that new dorm, the.

Little red light turns. So I move into an open bay dorm. I've been in two man cells in a open dorm. But you have a cell that you go to at night. It locks up a little more security, you get a little privacy. This is a straight open door dorm, 70 bunk beds, a hundred and something inmates all staring at each other. And the lights go out at 10 o' clock at night. And when the lights go out on my first night, because I'm like trying to just catch my bearings and I don't do a lot of talking in prison. I just listen and I watch and I'm observant. And what I observed the first night I was there is that when the lights go out, there's an emergency light that comes on and it's a red light. Kind of like how you would imagine Amsterdam in the red light district. And as soon as those lights went out, there was a lot of migration and movement in the dorm. And. And I'm just paying attention because I'm on my toes because it's a new place and. And I'm just trying to see how everybody's moving. Well, everybody's moving to somebody else's bunk and it turns into essentially a gay festival of sorts. I'm trying to find the right words.

There's.

There's no right words for it.

There's no right words, bro. It's just a gay orgy going on, bro.

And I said, I said, guy, you really got to be the dumbest son of a gun in America to be stuck here for 12 years.

That's. Hey, that's when you're really thinking about your great white buffalo. You're like, I could be out there with her right now. Instead I'm in here. Were you? Could you hear things, bro? Take us into that world for a moment.

I didn't want to hear things. And it's kind of like you see but you don't see, you hear and you don't hear. So, you know, essentially, you know, that's, that's what happened. And, and master was even telling me a story today because we were talking about this topic. Tell me really briefly, Master Houston, about your maybe your first day at Washington CI.

Well, first day, everybody gets up about 4:30 in the morning to go to breakfast. I get my toothbrush, walk in the bathroom. Sinks are on one side, toilets on the other side. Two feet apart, brushing my teeth. Happen to look over to the left and there was like a closet and it wasn't a pretty sight.

Like, explain that site.

Yeah, please, people are listening.

No, don't. Just be quick. Let's keep it moving.

But pretty much somebody was getting something stuck so far in there that, yeah, I just seen, but I didn't see, you know, and I'm just like, oh.

My God, you just finished brushing your teeth.

That's all you could do. And you know, I didn't pay no amount, so I didn't react to, was just there.

It's a different world in there, Frankie. It's a different world. And, and you forget like, it's. The first year goes so slow because you're thinking about the streets. You're sick. You're like, man, it's a Friday night. I would be here, man. Florida State's playing at home. I'd be at this game, man. My dad's, my brother's getting married, man. You know, you think about home and the things that you're missing and every weekend you're sick, every holiday you're sick. And then the second year, it's like the streets, you're like, this is, this is my world. Like, it becomes, you just become used to it. To where almost the outside world doesn't even feel as real anymore. So the outside world becomes foreign after, you know, years or a couple years and the time starts clicking by faster because you're present where you're at. So you just essentially make the most of where you're at. You kind of get in where you fit in. You, you provide. You find a way to provide value in there like you do out here on the streets.

Bro, how long did it take y' all to acclimate to the new environment.

It took me. Took me about a year, just like he said.

Yeah, it's typically about a year. And for some people, it's quicker. It just depends on how mentally tough you are, how much of a coochie you are. Did I say that?

You can say that. This is our podcast. You can say whatever the heck you want.

How much of a pussy you are.

Yeah, bro. Dang, man. I'm trying to think, like, if I got sent to prison today, God forbid, obviously, but you got to acclimate with your mindset. You got to acclimate with the way that you address someone. Somebody. You got to acclimate the way that you trust somebody. This is what I'm imagining. So you guys can correct me if I'm wrong. And what else do you have to acclimate on?

Respect.

Hit on that real quick.

How so? Something as small as you going to the juice keg and somebody's standing there, and you just, you know, you might be in a hurry and just grab you some juice real quick, and if somebody's standing there, they'll check you on that. Respect at its finest, really.

Just.

Just by that alone, somebody can get stabbed about skipping the line in a juice kit, man, bro.

I see. I believe you because the first time I met Guy. Guy, I don't know if you remember this. We went to Heart 8 Barbecue after launching paddle, and somebody cut a line. I think it was like a. There was somebody waiting for someone, and when that other dude walked in, they just went right up in front of us and met the person that they were meeting. And I remember you telling me you were like, man, bro. Like, I don't like that, man. Like, that's just. I remember you literally say, that's disrespectful, man. And I don't like that because I feel like I get something that, like, bucks up in me in that moment from, like, prison. I don't want it to.

Right. And I think Master, me and Master went to a Braves game one night. Remember that? And that dude cut us in line and about ended up being something just because it's like, when you are in that world, you got to stand firm on your principles, and respect is a big one. And if you'll give somebody, you know, an inch, they'll take a foot. So it's just, you got to set your boundaries, Draw your. Draw your line in the sand.

Hey, Master, did you draw your line in the sand, bro? Because I've heard a lot of stories of Guy Jones, like, painting people up, right? But, bro, you just seem so, like, chill. Like, so chill. Like, I can't. I can't imagine somebody even messing with you because you're so chill. But, I mean, I can imagine in there, they're just testing anyone and everyone all the time to see who they can get something from. What was your experience like that in that regard, bro?

Okay, but I'm gonna say this first. I'm the same way that I am out here. I was in there. And it's not really about how you. Well, it's not about what you do is how you do it a lot of times. And me, I worked out five times a week. I did. I. I stayed away from the three GS, gambling, gays and gangs. You stay away from those three, you won't have any problems. But they just see a short black dude, 172 pounds of muscle, working out. He draws. He doesn't mess with anybody. I don't talk too much. That kind of, like, you know, set me apart. Like, all right, I ain't gonna mess with this dude.

Yeah. Master Houston carries himself well.

Yeah.

Especially in that scene. But he was so frustrated. I see. I remember him looking for one sometimes. I remember you trying to fight Griff that one time.

I wasn't trying to fight Griffin. Griff disrespected me.

Well, well, either way. And I. It. Either way. Master Houston went either way. Master Houston was looking for one. And that's kind of how it is when you're away from your family and you're. You're with a bunch of dudes and. And especially when you're young, you're like, man, let's just. Let's just see. See what's up. See if I still got it. And I feel like you're in there, you're just going to be on edge, naturally.

But that day, I was. I had my boots on in his room waiting on him. He didn't come in the room.

Mike. Mike.

Yeah, but I had my boots on waiting for him. He didn't come in the room.

But. And. And see, this is what I love about this is like, Master Houston is not that dude. Like, he's an athletic dude. He's. But he's such a good dude, and he's got a good heart. Me, too. Like, I've just kind of grew up.

Guy Jones, I heard stories about you, bro. You're not like Master Houston in that regard. Don't even try and put yourself in the same bucket as that man.

Guy Jones looks for the biggest dude in the dorm.

Tell us. Tell us, Guy Jones.

Well, I will say this. I have a hard time keeping a freaking. Putting a mask on my face. So if I don't. If I don't like you, I can't laugh and, and play cool to just to get by and just to live in peace. If I don't like you, I just don't like you. And it's not always. And in a dorm of 70 people, there's going to be somebody that everybody doesn't like. And typically it's the bully and, and everybody just tries to get. Move around with in live in peace and avoid conflict. And me, as much as I would like to avoid conflict, I can't avoid conflict in those kind of situations. I've got to have them.

What was the first piece of conflict you had.

The first night I got there? Well, not the first night. The second day I got in there, I tried to fight the biggest dude in the dorm. Second day.

What do you mean tried?

He didn't. He wouldn't fight me. But essentially, like, I got to the place I was at Bay Correctional, my main institution, and like, you know, you always hear, like, find the biggest dude and, and go ahead and make an example. And that's what mindset I was on. I was just like, man, I'm here and my name's gonna ring some bells. So these dudes rub me wrong. And it was at this time I was, like, serious about my family. My son was just about to be born. I had. I was engaged, and I was talking to some dudes. I just got in this dorm and I didn't talk a lot, but they were asking me if I had a girl. I was like, yeah. And they started laughing like, she ain't gonna be around long. And like, you know the Jody story? Do you know the Jody story?

I don't know the Jody story, bro. Tell me the Jody story.

Well, there's always a Jody. Like, when you're coming home, Jody's going to be sliding out the back door, but somebody's going to take care of your girl while you're gone. So that's a military thing, but it also is applicable in prison. And.

And then your mind.

Yeah, yeah, good. That's not good to rent space.

That's not for rent, baby. That's not for rent.

So these dudes, when these dudes went, you know, and started on the Jody stuff, and I just shut it down. And essentially the next, very next day, I was at breakfast and at the breakfast table, and the biggest dude in the dorm, he's like, man, hey, pass me that salt. And I. I guess I was kind of slow about moving. He said, what, you scared of me? You scared of me? Pass me that salt. I said, not only am I not scared of you, we get back the dorm, you're gonna have to see me, bro. I was waiting on him. When I got back in the dorm, he's like, bro, like, I was waiting on him. I was hot, and he was a big dude. And I'm like, as soon as I get, I'm gonna try to knock his whole head off. As soon as he gets back here, like, it's on. And as soon as he came in the dorm, he's like, hey, ho, ho, this is not that kind of place. This is not that kind of institution, man. He's like, bro, I was just playing with you. And I'm like, I'm not playing. I'm not playing. And that was. That was. That set the tone and that. That didn't end up being something, but it kind of let everybody know where. Where I stood and how I was going to do my time. And I'm. I've never been affiliated. I wasn't affiliated. I was going to be on my own two feet. And when I left there, my only goal was that my head would be held high and I would know I walked my time out with strength and courage. And I didn't leave soft or I didn't cower due to trying to do easy time. I wouldn't mind the hard way.

I feel like what you hear often is that you've got to immediately, you've got to get into, like, some sort of gang so that you're, like, pursuing protected.

How.

Because it sounds like both of you didn't do that. And Master came out just fine. Guy came out with some battle wounds, but, you know, he still came out. So how did you guys do it? Or how do you freaking navigate it in there to not be in a gang but still be okay.

First, it's just how you carry yourself.

But put that mic a little bit more towards Master.

Yeah, it's just how you carry yourself pretty much. And my whole thing was, how many people do you see on this id? And they'll be like, they'll look. Yeah. And that's all I need, you know, that's. That would. That would be my thing. Because they tried. Of course they try. They see a young dude, athletic, like, oh, I could use him. Like, I can use him. No, you can't. I don't. And I used to just tell them, bro, I don't gang bang. I bang hoes. And they would. And that's what it was like. I came in here by myself, I'mma leave by myself. I don't need a hundred dudes with me.

But yeah, he hit on something right there. And it, it is about how you carry yourself and, and just like it is out here how you carry yourself, how you treat people, when you treat people with respect and, and they're even more so. And then when you get on somebody's ass, they're like, man, that dude is always respectful. That dude carries himself well. He's not looking for any problems. They just got him messed up and they got mashed in the process.

So that gives you more respect because they're like, he's typically not like that. And you almost win people over because they're like, bro, if you pissed him off, then you really screwed up. Because that's not a dude that goes out looking for problems.

Exactly.

Right. And that's. And the ones that are looking for problems, man, nobody's vibing with those dudes, man. Nobody wants to be around those dudes. And I had so much favor with officers and, and inmates just on the strength of treating everybody good, you know, and the only person that I couldn't treat good would be the bullies in there. And, and that place is like slap full of people that take advantage of the week. So it's just the nature of the beast.

And then the ones that did join the gangs were either weak minded, a coward, didn't have any money, no hustle, you know, like, and they needed people, they needed that.

That's interesting, man.

I've seen it from ages 18 to 45 joining the Games.

Yeah, because they feel like they need that protection. They feel like they need that backup. They feel like they need. But then I almost feel like you just become a slave to the gang at that point. So it's like you're not protected no more.

Right. People want to belong. So it's like some of these people just want to be in something. But there are some dangerous gangs in there. And, and you know, we talk about gangs and, and, but when I say dangerous, you can just be sleeping, minding your business and get stabbed to death in there. So it doesn't take a real tough guy to, to stab you while you're sleeping or stab you when you're in the shower or on the. Like, that doesn't take a tough dude. But those dudes put out hits on other people and and that's just the nature of the beast. And. And I want to belong so bad that I'm going to go stab this dude up. So I gain respect from these people. And it's like, that's the mindset in there. And like I said, it's its own world. And. And you know, it's sad, really, man. That's why I enjoyed so much going and. And bringing hope and. And a future to these guys this past weekend.

Yeah, bro, it was awesome to see that and to like, be a part of that. So if I'm hearing you correctly, bro, sometimes they just stab random people that had nothing to do with nothing just because they're trying to initiate them.

It could be somebody who just joined the game. Yeah, it could be somebody who just joined the gang. Fresh haven't been in prison a year yet. Want to join the game, be a part of some. Now you gotta go.

Hit somebody.

Yeah, you gotta go hit somebody, but only because of the simple fact that this person gives more canteen than them, or he always gets a bag, but he doesn't share or doesn't give people things and they'll go stop him.

Dang. That's wild, man. That's wild. Is that. Is that in every. Every institute that you guys went to?

No, not, not. I mean, every institution, yes, but certain institutions are a little more high custody, just a little different. Every dorm has its own vibe and its own energy. I've been in some dorms that are really, really dark and evil and violent, and you can just fill it in the air. It's thick in the air. And I've been into some dorms where it's very, like, peaceful and people are on purpose, like the. The door me and Master Houston were in. We were training bomb dogs at that private institution. And you hardly ever seen, you know, a fight. It was just a road.

And because it was a privilege to be in that dorm, you can't have no doctors. You can't be getting in trouble every day. You had to be flying straight to actually get in that dorm. So nobody was trying to leave it. Mmm.

It's kind of like the place where we went to go minister at. They had like their own dorm, like the faith and character, what I think is what it was called.

Right. Yeah. And. And that. That's an example. It's a privilege to be in there. And they may have incentives to be in there. More know, educational courses and. And a, you know, a bigger TV or more channels or movie nights. Once a week, they. They find little privileges and I think, man, really, prison should be more incentivized. I think there's plenty of ways to get people to react and respond the way you want them to with positive reinforcement. But our prisons are so behind in times on the psychology, and that's why our recidivism rates are stupid high, especially in the state of Florida.

Yeah. Do you think that's the case, bro? Like, because there's going to be the people like you guys that. That would work with, you know, but then there's the. There's the other guy who just wants to take advantage, who just wants to use the one that you give him an inch, he'll take a fortune put right. And so it's almost like I feel like. And I'm not. I haven't been in there, but I would imagine that there's dudes in there that use your kindness for weakness, and then they try and, like, use that to, like, get their way, and then it could backfire. Do you think that could happen too, though, right?

Yeah. So, you know, essentially everywhere there's going to be an. That doesn't know how to treat people, and that does, you know, that's just on a path to make people miserable or to take advantage of people. And those dudes were in there, and the best thing you can do to one of those dudes is paint their ass. That's the only way they can learn a lesson. Violence only understands violence.

Yeah, that's true. That's so true. That's true, man. So how did you guys handle not having a woman in prison.

Man? I was trying to holler at everything, Smoke. I'm like Jordan talking to my brother. Hey, man, find me some pen pals. Tell Whitney to find me some pen pals, man. I need some pen pals. And, you know, we didn't do. I didn't deal well. That's the one thing that made me sick.

When I first got in, I actually had a girlfriend, you know. You know, and she helped me. See, when I first got in, I had a girlfriend for a while, and she held me down for about, I would say a year and a half. Maybe like a year and a half and. Which was, you know, it was sufficient because I understood. I put myself here. She did. I'm here. I'm gonna make the best of it, you know, just stay busy, stay focused. I have a chance to go home. There's people in here right now that doesn't have a release date. They're gonna be in here for the rest of their life. There was people in the dorm with me, who had done more time than I lived. And I was 23 at the time. There was people I was living with who had done 25 years and was still walking around like, everything. I'm like, if he can, I know I'm gonna be all right. I'm good. So. But it was still tough, you know? And I was looking for. I had to ask my little sister for pen pals. And like, he said he was asking Jordan. I was on my little sister, like, hey, what's. Hey, tell. Give him up. And was trying to get it like that. But, you know, I didn't do as much time as God, so I knew.

So when y'. All. What's a pen pal do? Are y' all talking about, like, so that y' all could have that, like, emotional connection with a woman?

Yeah. Snail mail. So writing snail mail. Then you get her approved on your visitation list. Next thing you know, she's coming up Saturday buying you some hot sandwiches that they only sell at the visitation park. You got some kiss when you get there, kiss when you leave. Short and sweet. No, no fool around. But, you know, I asked for forgiveness, not permission a lot of times in life.

But then you would see those guys who you. You could just tell. You'll go to visitation and see this guy with this. They call him cash cows. But you're wondering, like, he was just, you know, he was less fortunate. But now he get bag of food every week. He's on the phone every day. Then go to visitation. It's this big girl in there, so. Oh, my gosh, Dallas. So ugly and so big. It's like, oh, my goodness, Dallas, man.

Our buddy Dallas, he's an amazing athlete from Panama City. Dallas, if you're listening, you know this is a true story. So Dallas.

So don't get pissed.

Dallas would use one, bro. He would use one quick. And. And. But I would say he'd do better than most, man. He made that. His job was to just write and fulfill their need for emotional connection. And in return, they would put money on his canteen, come up and see him, and he would get almost embarrassed when they come up there and see him. And because these chicks would be 400 plus pounds, and we would give Dallas a hard time, essentially. So.

Well, she wasn't giving him a hard.

Time.

And he probably would have let her, but it's just because he was a sad. He's all. He's just a different kind of animal doing that.

Fresh shoes every time, new outfits, money on the phone. He can gamble when he wants. He can eat when he wants.

I'll be hungry and take the beat up blues.

I draw to my wrist hurt instead.

Hey, because that's a lot of weight to pull, bro.

You gotta.

If you got a cash cow, it's a lot of weight to pull, man.

Cash cow.

All right, how. How else would people handle not having a lady in there then?

Oh, man. Mad gunners. So, man, gunners are mad gunners. And this is a real thing. Like, these dudes will tug on their meat to nothing, bro. So I remember being in line going to chow, and somebody's like, that dude's jacking off in the. In the line. We're all. We're all in a single file line going to chow. This dude's looking up at the gun tower and he's like going to town, and he got. He got put in confinement for it. He's like, she was eating me up up there. She was looking right at me. And. And the officer's like, bro, Sergeant Murphy's up there a dude. And he's like, you were looking at a mop stick with a mop on it. So essentially, it was so far off, it was a mop stick with a mop head. And this dude was taking. Taking this mop head, mop, mop stick to pound town over there because he could not deal with his sick desires.

That boy had absolutely zero holy in him. It was a hundred percent. A thousand percent horny.

Like, he had it like Usher. He had it bad.

And then every night, you know, all the inmates who. Who take medication, you have a man nurse that come in, and you know, they'll scream it over the Internet. Nurse.

Hey, hold on, y'.

All.

Y' all take over on this story real quick. I gotta use the restroom.

Okay, okay. But, yeah, they have a med nurse, and dudes would just sit back in the chair and just go crazy. I've seen a guy, and they told me what he was doing later, but I didn't know. He would tie a string from his toe all the way and put it up against his pants, tied on his wiener. And he would be tapping fast. Like, I'm wondering why. Why is this dude always tapping his feet when the mid nurse comes? He's like. He's gunning. I'm like, what? He would. He would have a string tied from his toe to his wing.

And. And that goes back to our point of how creative these dudes are, even when they're using it for the wrong. So, I mean, I forget about stories like this.

So it's like, he just brought this back. Like, oh my, I haven't thought about that in seven years.

So Master was with me at Bay Correctional. Matter of fact, we did probably four years together. I think he did a seven year bid, right? Yeah, seven year bid. So essentially we're in the dog program and, and which was cool that that place had some awesome incentives. It was a private institution. Institution. So it was to make money. And they got tax incentives to put inmates in classes. And Master took a horticulture class, which is pretty in depth, from University of Florida. And we trained bomb dogs for, for Auburn University. And there were Labradors. They would sell for like $50,000. And we would take them through their first level of training, which was like, kind of like a post puppy phase until year one when they'd graduate to weight training. But Master, me and Master met in there and essentially we ended up. I ended up getting you a job in medical department.

The best job on the compound.

Why?

Why is it the best job?

Right?

Because you're around more women. You know, you're around hygienists, doctors, nurses, and we got to eat the best food. I would say I had, I had never eaten filet mignon a day in my life before I got to prison. I ate it twice in prison.

So yeah, we, we were blessed.

And Masters making prison sound really nice, bro.

And it's not. And, and don't go, don't get to thinking that this, that prison is this nice. Essentially, my walk in prison was a lot like Joseph because I went in there off the chain and spent 30 days in the box that I'd get out, get my feet up under me, get in a fight, go back to the box. 30 days in, out, in, out. But man, when I gave my life to God and told God I would serve him, and man, I had Joseph moments and I felt like a lot like Joseph. Like all my, my friends had left me. Like his brother sold him into slavery. I was like, man, none of my friends care about me or want to see about me. Like my, my son's mom's found her a new man. And I just felt alone. But boy, when I accepted God into my life, my whole prison sentence change dramatically.

Bro. Yeah, we need to do. This is going to be good. Maybe the follow up episode. We can do your full testimony, bro, because I want you to go into like detail on that so people hear it. Yeah, because I think they, they need, they need to hear that side of it too. I was talking to my cousin on the phone earlier today and I told him that we were going to be filming an episode on Prison love, right. And the stuff we were going to be talking about. And he was like, bro, that's. That's an episode that's gonna catch a lot of eyes. I'm like, I know. And then after, I think what's going to be good is we can release Guy story, then we could release my story, then we can release mine and Guy's story. Right? Like, and how this whole holy and horny podcast came to be even. So, yeah, dude, I think that's gonna be really good. Really, really good. And I want to hear. Go ahead, Guy.

No, no. Master's saying he's. He's got to go in a second. But I like what we're getting into on this one, because this one's just fun. Yeah, it's a little bit different than some of the other episodes we shot.

Yeah, it's real fun. It's real fun. I bet that dude that was tugging off to that mop wished he worked in the doctor's office.

They wouldn't. They wouldn't have a savage animal like that. Like those. Good jobs, bro. They're gonna know who you are. This character precedes you.

You can't even have certain charges to work in there.

Yeah, they're very. They're. They're very precise about who they're letting around. The women, especially.

Oh, yeah, probably, like. I don't know if we can say the R word, because monetization and all that jazz.

Any abuse. Any abuse like that, charges or assault.

Charges, sexual batteries, anything to. Especially underage stuff. You're. You're. You become a target from officers, other inmates.

They got a name for them?

Yeah.

What do they had a name for them? What's the name?

Chomo.

Child molester. Choma. And chomo's gonna get the smoke.

Yeah, yeah, Y' all smoke all of them down, huh?

I don't smoke anybody down. I don't. I don't know everybody's story, nor do. Do I. Did I get involved in. In stuff like that. It's not my job to judge another man, but I don't have to, man. People just target them and they. They catch so much smoke, or they.

Get a war daddy and they pay him.

What's a bro? You guys are throwing out some terms today. What's a war daddy?

Somebody who's respected on the compound but knows you're a piece of a chomo, but you have to pay him, so nobody messes with you.

Pay protection or daddy.

Got it. Okay, so there's a system for all of it, bro. Everybody that wants to be protected can be protected, but there's a price to pay.

That's. That's. That's right. And it's funny how, like, you get into prison and you go back, like, a century. No technology, no phones. It's just a world in and of itself. And. And I'll tell you, some parts of that world I like despite. The only thing I really don't like is having a woman. But other than that, there's some parts of that that are very attractive to me, and that's not having distractions and ding. You know, your phone popping off 24 hours a day and really being able to. To lock in books and read and focus. Your level of focus is on a whole different level.

Well, I mean, bro, look right next to you. You got Master, who mastered portrait drawing and tattooing in prison. And then. And then right next to it. There it is. Oh, you finished it. Hey, bro. Let's go. Let's go. Hey, Master, you need a cross tattoo on your right hand now, too, brother.

I feel like yours is. I feel like yours is longer than mine, though, Frank.

That's what she said.

Wasn't that funny?

It just wasn't that funny because you were on the receiving end, bro.

I should have known what the. The topic, the way it was today. Nothing's off the table.

Hey, so before we let Master go, because we have been filming for an hour already, it does not feel like it either that this hour went by so fast, bro.

I was like, wow.

Before we let Master go. What?

Did you ever have a prison love story?

Did God Jones ever have a prison love story? I'm so.

No.

Didn't Master.

Not in prison. Not actually in prison.

What do you mean? What is work release?

Work release is a center of transition, where you transition from prison and you're at work with these. You get a job and you can go to work, but you have to come back to a DLC facility. But you wear street clothes and you see street people.

So what are you saying you had. Are you saying you had a girl at work release, Master Houston? A female officer?

Yeah, she was. She worked there. She worked there. And one morning, breakfast. She used to. I used to get up early and go help prepare breakfast, and she snatched me in the dish room, and.

She.

Took him to pow town. Let's go.

You put your winky in the kitchen sinky, bro. You're washing more than dishes, bro.

Are you so funny.

Dang, bro. And it was an officer?

Yeah, well, she worked at the facility, so. Yeah, you consider that Officer?

Yeah, she worked at a facility. So he's saying. Essentially what I'm hearing him say is she was like, they got outside women that run the kitchen there, and they're. They go through the Department of Corrections training, but their job is kitchen, and they got cameras everywhere. So she knew that. That the blind spot. She got mastering the blind spot from the camera. And whatever happened in that there. Well, that's another story for another time.

Bro. She did her. Bro, she worked hard for that, man. Mission accomplished.

Yeah, she did.

She did her recon.

She did. She did.

Had a slip and slide.

I love it, bro. Hey, man, I think that's it. That's what we got for today. I think we need to do another one on more prison stories, because I know there's a lot. Bro, Like, Guy, we didn't even get into your stories, which. I love your stories, your war stories. Master, I know you got more stories, bro. I know you got your more stories.

And if we got thought about this stuff in years, like. Like, now that we're talking about it, it's coming back.

And Master, this is. Is this your first podcast Master ever? So we had a. We had a pop. Masters proverbial cherry on this podcast, and. And now next time, Master's gonna be danier professional, because he's on the right podcast to feel comfortable, holy and horny, and to cut loose.

Come on, man. Hey, we're gonna do one when I go to Florida next. We need to do one, all three of us in person. That's when we'll do the next, like, prison stories one, because. And, yeah, what you need to do, Master, go home, be thinking about all these stories and just write them down, bro. Yeah, I have to.

And there's so many ways you can go. You could talk about business, because the. The business in there. There's so many different ways to. To make currency and revenue in there.

Well, bro, even the. The tattooing story, bro, that every single dude has a job. You make the ink, you get the alcohol you make, you get the gun. Like, all of this stuff, you sharpen the needles. Like, all of that jazz. That's a whole organization that's being built inside of a prison. The difference is, instead of getting checks, you're getting ramen noodles and fish.

Right. And bags of coffee. Yeah.

See what I mean? Yeah. So I feel like we could hit a lot of topics, man, but I think. I think we let Master go, brother. When we log off the show, what do you think?

Yeah, I think we covered a lot of ground, and this is a fun episode. And if y' all like it, leave a comment, let us know that you like it. And if y' all have any questions, we'll make sure we follow up on the next one, because I know a lot of y' all are thinking, man, I wish they would have talked about this. Or, man, but we tried our best to not worry about how we look and just give you the straight, raw, uncut version of whatever we got going on in life. That's what makes this podcast a little bit different.

Exactly. So make sure you like and you subscribe and shoot this episode to somebody who you're like, dude, you got to hear some of these stories.

All righty, y'.

All. We'll catch you in the next episode. I love the Lord, and I love people that need the Lord.

I'm just tired of being, hey, I'm gonna be fake, and I can't be real. The Bible says, confess your sin to one another. I love you. I honor you, man. You are like your fruit of the ministry, man.
