Learn three methods for setting up time blocks in SmartSuite to organize your tasks. The video walks through practical approaches to dividing your day into focused work periods and managing what goes into each block.
The first step to implement some kind of time blocking system for your own personal productivity is to determine what your blocks are. So the first option we have is to choose to block by task. You would go about blocking every day of your week with a task per block, and we'd keep rearranging tasks until we have a full day. The second option we have for time blocking is what we have over here on the left. This option is really great for people who prefer a looser structure or, or just balancing multiple roles in our intersectional lives. This is also easier to administrate because you can set up these events, have them repeat, and you're pretty much good to go. Option number three is smack dab in the center. It is the idea of taking a category and breaking it down a bit smaller. Regardless of which method you use, the guideline when it comes to this time blocking is to only work on that thing for that time period. If things take longer than expected, you can just move it on to the next relevant block. But still, still proceed with caution because doing too many modifications kind of defeats the purpose of blocking to begin with.
