This is a YouTube video titled "Are ClickUp Tasks the Same as Subtasks?" containing an explanation about the functional differences between tasks and subtasks in ClickUp. The speaker discusses permissions and list visibility features distinguishing subtasks from tasks. The content is a single-speaker explanation without multiple participants or a conversational format.
Emmanuel's wondering the difference between a subtask and a task in ClickUp, what are the functional differences? Well, the real thing I would say is that subtasks are basically the same as tasks. They inherit almost everything, the same stuff that a task has in terms of features and powers. The main difference is that subtasks do not allow us to have separate permissions. So for tasks we can make them private or not, share them or not, but with subtasks that's not possible. They always inherit the permissions of the parent task. The second major difference of subtasks is that they cannot show on multiple lists unless you're on one of the higher ClickUp plans, where subtasks on multiple lists are available. But for most people, tasks really have a unique ability to show up in multiple places, and subtasks do not for most users on most plans. For the most part, tasks and subtasks are kind of viewed interchangeably by ClickUp itself, but those two features are real standouts and can lead people down one path or another.
