Two speakers explain why companies get time tracking wrong in ClickUp and how it affects team capacity. Accurate tracking prevents overloading your team and helps you deliver projects on time.
If you're saying time tracking is the most important thing, can you talk about one or two biggest mistakes that companies in general do when it comes to time tracking?
The most obvious one is they don't time track at all. And what does that cause? You don't have any insight into your team utilization. You technically hire them for 160 hours per month, 90 hours per month. Who knows how much they're actually working? Can they get more work? Can they get less work? You don't have a measuring of that. And without that, you can't find out if you can take on more client work, more client projects, get more deals coming through, you might do that, and you might overload your team, and then you won't be able to deliver your projects on time. Clients will be unhappy, they'll churn, and you won't know why. And once you start time tracking, there are a lot of small mistakes that you can do, like tracking time and allocating that against the wrong thing, or doing it against a black hole. And track time against nothing. And that it doesn't really show you much data utilization. Yes, it still shows you that, but it doesn't show you time spent per client, for example.
