This is a YouTube video titled "Behind the Scenes: How Layla founded ProcessDriven 5 years ago." It features a personal narrative by a single speaker reflecting on their career journey, including challenges in finding traditional employment, starting a business, and growing professionally over five years. The content is a monologue focused on entrepreneurship and personal growth.
I was offered the opportunity to go overseas and work with a company to understand certain type of financial instruments. International, mentally stimulating and getting me into technology. But it was only when I had this offer handed to me that I realized how much I didn't want it. Here I was giving up the dream job to figure out something new because I didn't know what the heck I was doing. I was looking desperately for jobs. And here's where it got hard. I wasn't qualified to do anything that I actually wanted to do. I couldn't get hired because I was judged based on experience and age. And you know what? I get it. I decided to start a company rather than getting a job at all. I figured if I could just do some work for a few years, I'd have enough experience for the corporate jobs I actually wanted to get. Except some crazy stuff happened. Five years later, I'm still operating this business. I'm still learning on the job. I'm still growing so much faster than I would have had I chose a more traditional route. This MBA business turned into a true business where I'm able to express my passion, learn a whole lot every day, and build the job I actually want to have at each step of my own learning journey.
