ClickUp's native automations can't parse email content into custom fields, but Make and Zapier can bridge that gap. This video walks through why the limitation exists and how to work around it.
Sarah is trying to get the contents of an email such as an Amazon delivery was placed, when's it going to arrive and so on and have that information from the email trigger different actions in ClickUp. Is it possible? Well not really. In order to make this kind of situation possible we need to parse the email, meaning rip it apart and turn it into data that ClickUp can understand. We can't quite do that inside ClickUp's native automations right now, they're just not powerful enough. But if we look at third party integration and automation tools such as make or Zapier, you could bring something like this to life. Just make sure that your automation is kicked off in those tools by an email being received, then have that split out into different actions based on the email contents and then have those tools zapier, make whatever have those tools trigger ClickUp to do certain actions. But ClickUp itself isn't quite smart enough for this one yet.
