This is a YouTube video titled "Choosing your PM Tool Champion #shorts" containing a monologue or single-speaker talk from May 16, 2023, discussing the qualities and criteria for selecting a project management tool champion within a team, emphasizing personality fit, leadership qualities, and understanding of team processes.
Number one, it is not an owner or a leadership team member. And this is a hands down, no negotiations rule for us here at Zenpilot. If we're working with somebody, we've seen it fail too many times. We've seen the owner start out with gusto, but then once they get into the trenches, it's repeatable processes every day. You got to be doing some stuff to make sure the system's up and running. That's not for every personality type. There's some personalities that thrive in that they want to continuously improve every day and move those things forward, and others that they just have too much on their plate or their personality doesn't line up, whatever it might be. Number two is they need the click of chance, needs to have thick enough skin to be a referee. And what that means is they need to be willing to call out teammates when they've violated the rules of engagement that the the team has agreed to. They need to. Number three, have a general understanding of how the team processes flow. So kind of knowing the client journey at a high level and then going into each phase of that journey and understanding kind of the. The main cogs in the machine and how things flow. And then the last thing is they've got to have capacity to fulfill the role.
