This is a YouTube video titled "Creating New Traditions: Embrace the Present for a Better Future with George B. Thomas #holiday" featuring a monologue or talk by George B. Thomas recorded in February 2025. The content focuses on encouraging viewers to create new holiday traditions by embracing the present moment and looking forward to the future rather than clinging to past customs.
The narrative that we tell ourselves, the words that we use. You said non traditional. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. New tradition. A new tradition. Because here's the thing. The reason that we always play that playlist, the reason that we always drink that eggnog, the reason that we always bake those cookies is because Papa and Mama did. See, the problem with this whole holiday thing sometimes is it is the 30 or so days that. That we lose the now and forget about the future. And the hope and the joy and the blessings are in the now and in the future. But we're so focused on what we did with our parents and what we did as kids. Listen, right now, if you're just like, this year sucks. I can't get into the season. Make new traditions. Leave the past, be in the now. Focus on what you're gonna do in these times for you, your family, in the future.
