Customize Email Preference Pages for Every Business Unit

This is a YouTube video titled "Customize Email Preference Pages for Every Business Unit" created in May 2024. The content features a single speaker, Brooke from HubSpot Academy, providing a tutorial on how to set up and customize email subscription preference pages for different business units within a HubSpot account, aimed at helping users maintain consistent branding across multiple brands.
Hey y', all, It's Brooke with HubSpot Academy. Today I'm going to go over business units in your HubSpot account. Business units allow you to tailor your HubSpot account for different brands your company owns. For example, say you're a company that sells both Savory and Sweet Treats. Your Savory Treats are under the brand Brooks Bites, while your Sweet Treats are under the brand Tea Time Treats. Both of these business units can exist inside of a single HubSpot account, but have completely different brand identities. And now you can update the subscriptions preference pages inside of the Design Manager so they can match with your overall CMS themes. Let's take a look at how to set these business units up and add unique preference pages for each. To create a business unit, in the top navigation, click on Settings. Then in the left hand sidebar, click on Business Units. This is the page where you can see all of the business units that are within your HubSpot account. In the top right, click on the Continue to Business Units button. We're going to skip the tour for now. And now we're going to click on the Create New Business Unit under the business unit name. Let's give this one Brooks Bytes and then click Create. Now we're going to add in our second business unit. So we're going to click Create New Business Unit again. And this time it's going to be Tea Time Treats. We're going to click on Create. Now what you can do is you can manage the brand kits for each different business unit integrations, as well as the different domains and URLs that are connected to each business unit. So now that we're on the Teatime Treats business unit, let's look at how we can update the preference page in the settings. Scroll down until you see Marketing. Then we're going to click on Email. A subscriptions preference page is considered a systems template, so this is where you can change them for each business unit. To see the subscription preference pages that are connected to each business unit, click on the tab that reads System Subscriptions to know which business unit you're currently on. In the top navigation, you'll see the name of your HubSpot account. So let's click on our name and then under Business Unit here we can change over to Teatime Treats. Now in the top navigation, it should read the name of our HubSpot account as well as the business unit we're on. So this means whatever we update here is going to only affect this one business unit. So with the Subscriptions preference page. If you click on the dropdown, you'll see a list of the default ones that HubSpot has created for you in our pre built CMS themes. So you could change it to the Barricade one, or you could change it to the Growth one. If you don't like any of the pre built ones, you can click on the Actions dropdown and then click on Edit. This will take you directly to the HTML Hubble template page where you can make updates. With this template type you're going to make sure that it's email subscription preference pages. You can say that it's available for new content and add a label and screenshot path. Next you can connect The CSS and JavaScript files you want connected to this page. Finally, if you have a base HTML template for your overall CMS theme, you can extend that here. And then inside of the block body you're going to add in the specific HubSpot module called subscription Preferences and this is pre built for you. So let's look at the preview page to see what comes with that pre built module. In the top click on Preview and then let's click on Live Preview with Display options. So this is going to show you what the subscriptions preference page is going to look like when a user goes to it. So here your users can opt in and out of the different email preferences that they receive from you. And that's all you have to do to use the Design manager to create separate preference pages for your different business units, ensuring your brand remains consistent at every touch point.
