This is a YouTube video titled "Development Sandboxes - CRM Development Tools, HubSpot Customization and Extensibility" featuring George B. Thomas explaining the use of development sandboxes in HubSpot. The content, created in September 2022, provides a detailed walkthrough on creating, managing, and deploying projects within isolated development environments using HubSpot's CLI tools.
As a developer, when you're building and testing a project, development environments are a must, and sometimes you need your own environment separate from other users where you can't impact their work and they can't impact yours. HubSpot now makes this easy with development sandboxes, which allow you to build and test your work in isolation. Development sandboxes can be easily created using the cli. After connecting a production account to the clique, simply run the command HS sandbox Create to create a development sandbox, CRM object definitions from your production account, including contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and custom objects, will be synced to this development sandbox. To view and manage your development sandbox, navigate to CRM Development in the main navigation in the left sidebar menu, select Sandboxes, then click on the Development tab. By default, only the person who created the development sandbox can access it, but you can enable other users to access it by adding them as users in the sandbox. With your sandbox created, you can connect to it via the CLI by running the command HS auth and following the prompts. Once you're connected to the sandbox, you can begin developing your project in your testing environment. When you're ready for final deployment, simply Simply switch to your production account or use the hsproject upload command with the account flag set to your production account and that's it. With development sandboxes, you can build and test your projects in an isolated development environment and easily deploy them to your standard sandbox for final user testing. Prior to deploying to production, check the developer documentation to learn more about HubSpot projects and development sandboxes.
