This is a YouTube video titled "Don't make wimpy decisions." containing a monologue by George B. Thomas recorded in February 2024. In this content, George B. Thomas discusses the importance of making clear, decisive choices during crises and the discipline required to manage and adhere to those decisions within an organization.
We are implementing EOs. I do not care if the most talented person in my company says that they don't want to comply. I'm choosing us over that, because I know any deviation from the plan starts to just, like, get a bigger and bigger and bigger impact as time goes on. So that is a decision. People make wimpy decisions, and I think that's a really big problem. When you're in a crisis, you talk about agency breakthrough. Like, if you're at a crappy spot and you can't figure out how to get out of it. Look at the quality of your decision. Are you very, very clear on what you've decided, and is it clearly articulated? Because then the rest of the job is just managing against that decision. The discipline required. What does it mean? If that is the choice I'm making, what does that require?
