This is a YouTube video titled "Following through on your ideas is a SKILL π" containing a motivational monologue or talk from February 21, 2024, discussing the importance of execution as a skill distinct from ideation, emphasizing integrity and follow-through as key to high performance.
I'm really tired of people calling themselves ideas, people in business just because they're bad at following through with action. Just because you're bad at execution does not mean that makes you an ideas person. No, it just means that you're somebody who is bad at following through on things. Execution and ideation are both skill sets, and ideation tends to come easier to most people, so they claim, because it's easier for them. That must be who they are. They're a visionary. No, you just haven't taken the time to build the harder of the two skills, which is the ability to execute. The positive side of this collectively low bar we've set in society is that anybody who actually follows through on their actions, executes and does what they say they're gonna do, is already in the top 20% of performers. Just because you're actually doing what you say and acting with integrity, if you can master who, what and willpower the hardest of those three, you're all of a sudden a superstar just by showing up and having integrity in your daily actions.
