A leadership talk on connecting individual work to bigger goals and celebrating team wins. The speaker argues that leaders who publicly recognize contributions build trust and fuel motivation across their organization.
Each person has a particular role, but the leader, right, the main guy knows the part that every person needs to play. And can you say that you can do that in the organization? This means as the leader, you need to be really good at connecting the dots. Show them how their unique contributions play a bigger role to the goals that are trying to be achieved. Last but not least, celebrate the wins. And celebrate the wins in public. Meaning hey, Bobby. Hey, Susie. Hey, Jenny. Because you did this, this happened. And it means this. Not a employee the month plaque, but I just let other people see that you are appreciative and celebrating the wins of your team. Because when you as a human get acknowledgement, it is like pouring gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel. I don't care which one you pick, but it's like pouring any of the heck. It could be barbecue fluid, whatever, but it's like it's this fuel. The passion is just going to rise up. So we've got to have a culture of curiosity and trust. Passion can't thrive in a culture where fear and micromanagement are the norm.
