This is a YouTube video titled "Hard is a blessing." containing a monologue or motivational talk recorded on May 30, 2024. The speaker discusses the value of embracing challenges and hardships, especially for young entrepreneurs, framing difficulties and trauma as gifts that foster growth and resilience. The content reflects philosophical ideas similar to Buddhist or Taoist teachings.
I don't want to get preachy at all, but I think that especially for young entrepreneurs, go seek out the thing that's hard. Go find it. Do things for the sake of doing hard things. I think hard is a gift, and I think every trauma you've ever experienced is a gift. And I really mean that. You know, it's super easy to be like, oh, woe is me. This is sad. But, man, gosh, what a blessing. Because I see the other side of that, too. I see the people that didn't have hard. It's my children, my little guys. They're limited by how easy their life is and is going to be. So part of me wants to inject some trauma into their existence, you know what I mean? Within the confines of what's safe. But I think hard is a blessing. And if you're experiencing hard and you can reframe that, and this is pretty Buddhist or Taoist or whatever, they all basically end up saying the same thing, but lean into the hard.
