This is a YouTube video titled "How networking leads to community building." It features a single speaker discussing the concept of modern networking as community building rather than transactional interactions, emphasizing passion and shared interests to foster connections. The content is a monologue or talk focused on networking philosophy and strategies.
A different mindset about networking is what you've got to first start with networking, you're kind of taught it's a very transactional thing. But that's not real networking, that's not modern networking, and not what I talk about in my book. You want to approach it as a community builder. When I say that, I mean in all aspects. You're building a community around you or around initiative or something you you're passionate or care about. So that could be you're very passionate about bringing up the next generation of developer or designer. So networking with other people that passionate about that as well, and finding ways to help that community and build that community. And as you're doing that, you're sharing with those folks about what your passions and your interests are. It's just going to be natural that you start sharing what you're looking for and what you're doing.
